Warden class p2w?

Isnt it per definition p2w if you can play the warden class only by buying the "expansion" when the class will be stronger than others?

No. You're not buying in game items or a maxed toon or the skill to play it. You're supporting the game by paying for content you will have to level and master.

No, it's not. It is an addition to the game and no base game content so it's obvious you need to pay for it. And no, it's not P2W.

Wouldn't be all the items from the DLC content P2W as well then?

I mean a F2P player gets every balance patche etc. for free. Warden would only be P2W if it guarantees you being better with it than without it. And if you don't even play a Warden, how could it be P2W in the end because you're not playing it at all?

Nope, certainly not when there is no evidence it will be stronger. If some abilities are deemed OP then they will be subject to nerfs like any other class or the other class might even be buffed.

It's fine with me, since I will be buying the subscription.

But conversely, like all things, you get to vote with your wallet. You either buy it, or don't. If you don't, and many others don't, it may send a message that the player base disliked the idea, and may influence changes in the future.

By that definition every single piece of dlc is P2W. I mean, what about the people who haven't bought orsinium dlc? They haven't got access to vMA weapons. What about those people who haven't got access to the dlc dungeons and the bound items within? Really is stretching it. Every dlc adds better stuff. If it didn't more people would complain.

It will be p2w only for a short time, the other classes will be nerfed, especially sorcs, so yeah it is almost a given Warden will start out OP.

There was a time when it was though and that was right after release. Do you really think ZOS will balance the Warden properly from release when they can't even figure out how to balance the other classes yet? My magic 8-ball says "don't count on it".

I was wondering when the P2W crowd was gonna show up. People will still have to learn the class and level the class. It's not like they are gonna start at max level instantly with the best gear.

Yup it's OP.

No reason to play anything but Mag Warden now. Ice Magik blows Steel Tornado out of the water. And bear can tank VMOL by itself. It also heals itself and you using fairy magic and rainbows. And the class excute is Jesus Beam except more powerful, spammable, and does 600% more damage at targets below 90% health.

If the class comes with passives that grant it 100% extra magicka, 2000 increased spell damage, & 50% cost reduction then yes its pay to win.

If not, then no.... it'll just be a different class with strengths and weaknesses like the others.

Luckily no, it only comes with 100% extra stamina, 2000 increased weapon damage, and 50% cost reduction. Plus a permanent Minor Heroism buff.

Only in the sense that you think the imperial race is also pay to win.

We know the class skill lines are something like frost, heals, and nature. And given ice staff's conversion into a tank weapon, the class is looking to become a jack of all trades. And we saw how well this has worked out for templars.

It may bring something new to the table that will initially throw players off, but I don't expect it to be OP. Sounds like it'll be a combination of ice templar with the sorc summon tree in place of the spear line. What about that sounds OP?

This is not P2W. It is an additional class for the expansion. It will be balanced just like any other class.

It is largely accepted by the gaming community that classes, sets and/or progression added through expansions are not pay to win. But of course, you are free to disagree. People have different opinions on what is considered P2W or not. As someone who played Perfect World at one point in my life, I have a very clear picture of what is P2W for me.

Unless it's just stupidly overpowered, no, it will not be P2W.

Will it be purposefully overtuned to push sells only to be nerfed at a later date, most likely. However there's big difference between mildly outperforms on average, and grossly OP pay to win.

P2W is something so powerful that as long as the player has a pulse and interacts with the game, no amount of skill can match it, and it is only available for real world currency transactions.
