Argonian Large Homestead - Yuck!

To put it simply, having played this game since release as one of a handful Argonians, the title says it all, a carbon copy of the inn in Stormhold from Shadowfen. Now I can understand the smaller homes being mud dwellings as these litter Shadowfen, however this house seems to be a rush job and was poorly implemented even though its the cheapest of its category at $760k. Very little room on the bottom floor, and even smaller room up top. This home should have resembled the ruins of Shadowfen being right next to the Hatching Pools just like the picture below. I just hope Zenimax reads this post and melts the existing dwelling and puts something better its place.

I agree. Stay-Moist "Mansion" is a big pathetic mud hut. Not worth my gold or crowns.

Give us some of that awesome Argonian architecture!

Don't you people know that ZOS has no love for Argonians?

It took them 2 years to give us even mildly acceptable passives so expecting a Xanmeer-ish Temple was practically a fool's dream. I would love one too tbh, but as long as the stick in the mud that hates Argonians is working at ZOS, we'll continue getting crappy treatment like this.

I understand we are swamp people, but come on, get real. Alot of us have been living amongst Nords and Dunmer, it's only natural that some Argonian would know how to build a better house. 760K? You're better of buying a medium house. If you don't want to change the architecture, at least lower the price to somewhere below 500K.

I really feel for the Argonians. I'm glad I don't have to live in one of those houses.

On the other hand, the Dunmer ones are really awful. The Ebonheart Castle costs 3.4 M or so, and it's literally just a carbon copy of the larger Dunmer mansions in the game, cramped into a much too small exterior with huge walls and mountainsides blocking off every possible viewpoint and giving you that good old claustrophobic feeling.

In general, many of these hugely expensive houses have the feeling of "Let's quickly make something fast and uninspired" instead of "hey, what house would I really want my character to live in".

Such a pity. I honestly hope this doesn't go to live as it is, for Argonians and Dunmer alike. This is as bad as the poison puke and venom vomit from the DK overhaul ...

The Crown Store homes are of course gorgeous and well done (those they can do right, for some reason), but many of the bought ones, even in the 3.6 M class, are a huge disappointment.

I would like to direct a question to Zenimax, it seems after looking at the other same size homes in this category, the designers seems to put a lot of thought when it came to other race homes, namely the redguard and orc homes, why was the decision to create a third house a mud house, when as mentioned by many in thin post you could have used the ruins for our upper house? I am supposed to be the Hero of Tamriel, yet for all my heroism you give me a mud house (aka tavern) to reside in, I would rather see some homes go live feb 17th, and homes like this redesigned, even if it cost more. What's worst is many other homes have a place to swim, yet as an Argonian I have no pool/lake/river to bathe in. And we are the ones that have a swim speed.

Would have liked also to have had a home like the delve I originally posted, rooms underground could have had a underwater cavern, with waterfall and some natural light coming through like many of the delves throught Tamriel. You guys got it right with the ruined walls bordering the property, yet no vista over looking the Hissing Pools either, so much could have been done better.

I wish we could get an underwater mansion akin to what you'd really see deep in the marsh. I'd like to see one of those worm creatures mill about the mansion that Argonians ride (or are ingested by, depending how you look at it) through the silt and waters. I wish there was underwater swimming, and breathe water potions/scrolls available for the non argonians out there.

ALL of the houses are copies of existing buildings.

The breton manor (the 4 mil one) is the bank from Wayrest. The khajiit manor is the bank from Khenarthi's Roost, the altmer medium home is the taven/enchantment store from Vuhlkel Guard, and so on.

I agree that they could have done something more interesting for the argonian large home, given there's at least two different architectural styles we can see in Black Marsh but it seems like they wanted to stick to just 1 style for each race, and for whatever reason decided the mud huts are what they want.

At the smaller size I think they're fine. My argonian is going to be buying Humblemud, which is perfect for her (especially since it has one of the biggest courtyards of any small house), but the bigger ones I think are disappointing.

I dont remember the location or quest name, but there were two factions, warriors and priests trying to save the hist tree there. that was the house they had used.

After giving it a go, it does seem like Stay Moist Mansion is what the Argonian Medium house should be, and the Large house should be Xanmeer style. It's a cool design, but seems significantly smaller and less interesting than the other racial houses of that tier.

I was going to use it as a huge sweatshop with a lot of attuned crafting stations until I saw prices for them.

A replica Hist tree is available from the achievement vendor in Shadowfen.

Argonian stone arcitecture is ancient, and not something they can or want to build at this time. That doesn't stop them using some of the ruins, but maybe that is a thought behind the decision, if there's any. I agree I'm not very fond of these huts.

It's almost like they don't have anyone left on the development team that can do any serious modeling or programming. Do they have to recycle everything?

Thankfully there's the crown store exclusive of Grand Topal Hideaway. Thankfully mud huts seem to only be prevalent in Shadowfen and better modern Argonian architecture exists in Murkmire.

EP have some of the worst homes in the game. Only good ones are Nord small and Dunmer medium. The rest are all terrible value.

They're the only faction to use the same house for both medium and large estates (Nord uses the exact same house and Dunmer just a slightly larger variant), and their manor is smaller than some of the large houses. Really disappointing selection.

Actually ZOS can we melt down the Mud House, create mud bricks, and build our own Mazzatun Ruins with Mud/Stone Bricks. Give us a couple extra 100 item limit for not having a house to create our own struture. I am amazed there wasn't at least one land plot that had no house, so people could create there own designs inside.
