For me, it entirely depends on the sizes. If I spend close to 4m gold, I expect that I can place attuneable crafting stations for all crafts and all craftable sets in the yard, so I can just travel home to craft any and all.

mhm... 1.3 mil for the big houses... not too bad. I however might just buy them with crowns just for the title.

Very surprised actually. A decent home is actually (at least in my opinion) rather cheap.

That depends... Does the house in Auridon, Mathiisen, count as being medium, large or a manor? If its a manor, I will probably have to look for a new home, I am far too much of a shopaholic to be able to afford to spend 3.7 million on a house

Khajiit hands over a flier before dashing off again.

Large Home :- Mathiisen Manor, 1,025,000 gold: This elegant walled estate is truly the apogee of Aldmeri architecture, including a grand entrance hall, curving double staircases, and a blossom-tree garden with circular reflecting pool

Edit : sees there was already a flier out from UrQuan

    Well, well.

If I'm going to buy a manor for roughly 3.7 million in gold, my dear Zenimax, I would like to eventually have the ability to have a wife, children, bard, estate steward and perhaps other folks as well to populate said manor with. In other words, Hearthfire from Skyrim.

Perhaps these folks would only appear on the grounds of said estate, rather than being plucked from the NPC population? If anything, it'd lessen the server load if nothing else if the manor-based NPCs were just that, manor-based.

A virtual estate and a virtual family in ESO. Quite tempting, yes indeed!

Every player should have small houses and most player shouldn't have big houses, manors. I mean that for to be rarity. So the prices are really good balanced. Currently i've 170k and i guess i start with a small house, but later i'll get a medium too.
Whenever i search for an alternative game, i realize that how beautiful ESO is...

I don't think the prices are bad. The apartments are easily affordable.
Though I'll likely just fork out the Crowns for the bigger homes because I'm a lazy sod. :|

The price for mansions are insane. The most gold Ive ever had is 200k. And thats from just normal questing, I havnt gone gold farming. I dont get how people walk around with millions of gold. I can sure kiss manor goodbye. But who knows maybe I will be happy with a medium house.

In the patch notes it says that you can set a friend as decorator. I don't think I'll ever be able to buy a manor, but maybe I can buy a large house with a friend, that would be fun.

I am nearing 6 mil in gold but do not envisage blowing it on the larger houses, just like I still ride around on my original 10k brown horse - you do not get rich by spending your gold :D

Yes Im very well aware that you dont get rich by spending gold. The most expensive things Ive ever bought is the Midnight Steed and more bank space. I dont use money often. I make mini goals like "ok lets get another 10k, and another" etc etc. Maybe I get money slowly, entirely possible since as I said I haven't gone gold farming.

Buying a house with someone else would be nice yes, would also cut the expenses in half. But okay fine manor house would be awesome, but I doubt more then a handful of players can afford it.

Im not complaining on the prices because I want everything for free, free houses would be bad. Now someone could make it their goal to get the best house. It gives you something to strive for, something to work for. When you can get a house that I at least hope will look awesome, it should require some work. But literally millions of gold...jeez.Talk about bursting a bubble for us more poor players. But we have no idea what the houses look like, so maybe a small house is just as good as a mansion. Only difference is the size and maybe the location of the mansion.

The prices are fine. Everyone can afford atleast something. While there is something for people or guilds with gold to burn.
If everyone could afford the mansions what would be the point of the small houses?

Now that we know the prices of houses in Homestead, what do you think of them? Do you find them cheap, OK or expensive? Or maybe "way too..."?

If you haven't seen them yet, apartments costs between 11k and 13k, small homes between 40k and 74k, medium homes between 190k and 335k, large homes between 760k and 1.3 million and manors around 3.7 million.

Its high priced..... SO THAT PPL WILL "BUY" "CROWNS" with REAL MONEY!

I think the price is dependant on whether or not you are lucky enough to be in a trade guild that can sell to the community.

Some will find Manors cheap, others will find them totally unobtainable.

The economy is an exclusive club so the price could never be right.

Out of the two homes I want I can afford one which is the medium sized imperial home outside of Elinhir for 295k. I am happy with the pricing and I will either work toward getting the Manor outside of Daggerfall or I will just use crowns on it if I can. At least I can be happy with the fact that I can afford the home I wanted without going completely broke :)

The prices seem pretty good - by that I mean, quite well aligned to the trade market. Clearly not everyone will be able to stump up 3.8 million in gold for a manor, but everyone can earn that gold if they want a manor badly enough.

Personally, I like that ESO Plus members get a little something for the subs, and I like that it is possible to place items in any house (though, of course, fewer objects in a smaller property).

Can't wait to try the crafting side of things, as that's where my interests lie. Did experienced crafters get something to celebrate at last? We'll see :)

Lol ty for advice but i would rather delete eso instead of farming stuff i dont need chores i need fun.
    OK, bye!

You do know that nobody is forcing you to buy any of these right? And that some of them are really cheap, and others are actually free? And that this game is currently sorely lacking in gold sinks? So I guess you just like complaining?

Your attitude is so lame thread topic asks "Homes prices, what do you think?" and thats what i think you should respect others thoughts or gtfo.

Also i was talking about manor prices people really need to learn read.

I think the prices are about right. It won't do if we could buy them all at once. That sense of accomplishment will be missing if they sell it for cheap. I think of the manors as something to look forward to. A kind of upgrade to my Tamriel lifestyle ;)

I wish they'd also give us guild halls in the future (although I suppose, the manor would suffice for now).

My understanding is that it's instanced, so there are only a finite amount of actual houses but multiple people can own the same ones.

I think the prices are abut right - it would be no fun to me if I could just buy everything at the start with no effort. In this case I can buy a small house or save up and feel a sense of achievement when I can afford a bigger one. I'm really looking forward to crafting furniture and decorating, so I think this is an exciting update.

Still haven't found the answer :/

I wonder if you could upgrade slowly. Say get a room in the inn and make gold then upgrade to a medium. Stay in a medium to upgrade to a large. Then stay in a large and upgrade to a manor when you have the money :)

They feel reasonable to me but that is only because part of my fun in this game has been amassing a wicked fortune so I have a sick amount of gold to spend on this stuff for kicks. I think the medium houses and larger are kind of pricey for players who have not done that or who have spent their gold on their gears and probably had to change them every update. Something like that feels a bit unfair.

Tonight Deltia joked that he doesn't have enough gold to get one of the large houses in his stream. At first I was surprised and thought that couldn't be true but then I realized that when he plays he plays the game not the market. He farms for items, golds them, tests builds, uses pots, does stuff with his guild, makes videos for us to learn... so it made sense to me and then I applied that to all other gamers who have zero interest in the making money for the fun of it in eso. They wouldn't have fortunes if it was not their priority. If gears, golding items, farming sets all that stuff is their priority, they might have far less gold after all of that. Or even the people who spend fortunes to float their merchant guilds. That might be where all their money has gone. So as I think of it, while some have lots of money to waste on this stuff, I can see how many would not. That's sort of a disappointment for those that were just playing the game the way you would if amassing a fortune was not something that interested you at all.

Do you have 10M+ for all 3 manors? (able to obtain the achievements)
Second question if you answered yes, Do you plan to spend 10M+ of your X gold to get all three?

Although I'm not the person you asked...

Yes, I can afford to buy all three out of the gate with in-game gold.
No, I will not definitely not buy all three. I might buy one, but even that's not set in stone yet (I need to see what they're like on the PTS).

The reason is that I see these things as long-term goals. I don't treat housing in a "oh, this is new content--I must complete it all before the next update" manner. I think ZOS intends for people to slowly collect these houses over the course of the next few years. It's similar to things like 9-trait research--it's meant to be a long-term goal.

Furthermore, from the sounds of it, furniture crafting will not be trivial, and I estimate that will take quite a bit of time and effort to fill even a medium home.
