Homes prices, what do you think?

Now that we know the prices of houses in Homestead, what do you think of them? Do you find them cheap, OK or expensive? Or maybe "way too..."?

If you haven't seen them yet, apartments costs between 11k and 13k, small homes between 40k and 74k, medium homes between 190k and 335k, large homes between 760k and 1.3 million and manors around 3.7 million.

Plus there's a free room at the inn, of course. Also, you can pay in gold or crowns. The latter is actually important for those who want an expensive house but aren't sitting on a trading fortune or intending to use it as a guild house. The price may be prohibitive on both methods, but at least the options are there - and not in a crate  !

Let the gold farming begin :)
3.78m gold for a manor and there's 3 of them (all 3 needed for an achievement that comes with a title). I feel poor now :)

Those prices seem perfect tbh. Accessible for anyone in the small/medium category a bit of work for the larger/manor category.

I have to say, the way they have tied in crafting seems very in depth at first glance. If you are into housing I think you are going to have a great time with this update.

I think the prices are fair and a good gold sink.

I thought the manors would cost up to 5 million, and I didn't expect different houses within the same tier to have different prices, which is nice.

But maybe I'm biased because there is only one house that I want right now and I can afford it.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

More space to place stuff in the larger homes and there may be restrictions on what you can place in the smaller ones. We'll need to get in and see if those restrictions are huge or not.

I'm in a position where I saved just enough for the manor home so it works for me. I'm also totally aware that 3mil + is not a number that the majority of players will get easily so it puts those manor homes out of reach for a lot of players. My hope is that they don't turn to 3rd party gold sites to get the funds necessary and that a crown store option that would be comparable is included.

these look Ok to me but i have to see the real differences between them and the practical nature of them.

if it ends up being just cosmetic fluff then not that interested.

off hand given my chars typical goldish status i could reasonably expect to buy a single medium house for up to 300k (for my chars as a whole or possibly buy an apartment for every character individually if thats possible.

i do kind of like the idea of a more robust "shared pad" and each having independent apartments if thats functional.

I think the mansions are far too expensive. I was expecting them to be two million at most. I've been saving for months and only have about 2.7 million saved. I think they are trying to exploit us to get crown houses.

Mmm I guess I won't be able to buy 2 different houses for now (can't decide the race), but I guess it's fine, like others said, better be a slow progression. I'm terrible at grinding gold, I wish pledges could be more profitable in that regard because it's what I spend my time on these days.

The price for mansions is insane. The most gold Ive ever had is 200k. And thats from just normal questing, I havnt gone gold farming. I dont get how people walk around with millions of gold. I can sure kiss manor goodbye. But who knows maybe I will be happy with a medium house.

Nearly 4 mil for a Manor is a lot of money for most players, I expect the begging to increase a bit.

Instead of people wanting 3k to respec skills or 10k for a horse, it'll be "I need 100k or a million so I can buy a house?".

Having just returned to ESO to give One Tamriel a try (and finding that 95% of my gripes about the game have been resolved over the last year or so) I subbed for 3 months, so got a few Crowns. Was going to get the Elk Mount but to me that is way overpriced. So I may use the Crowns for a homestead.

I'm not in a guild so don't have tons of gold, in fact I barely have 250k. But as I am enjoying ESO:OT more than I have enjoyed any MMORPG in ages I imagine I'll be around for a while to earn some more.

In the patch notes it says that you can set a friend as decorator. I don't think I'll ever be able to buy a manor, but maybe I can buy a large house with a friend, that would be fun.

I am nearing 6 mil in gold but do not envisage blowing it on the larger houses, just like I still ride around on my original 10k brown horse - you do not get rich by spending your gold :D

    The Manor prices are a HUGE disappointment, imo. I hope they see reason and lower them a bit before it hits live. ;__;

I think they are about what I expected. I could see the "Manors" being more along the line of guild halls. I would certainly pitch in if my guild wanted to buy one. As for me, I am buying the Dunmer house on launch day. Haha.

I'm not sure why people are so upset about the manor prices; they are realistic when you put them in line with the other sizes/prices. I'm sure large houses are more than adequate for anyone wanting a large space. Mansions should definitely be much harder to attain - I was honestly expecting 5 mil so I'm pleased with this.

I've only got 5,000 gold at the moment, I think the most I've ever had at once is 20,000 and I think the prices are fine.

Yes the 3 most expensive houses in the entire game cost a huge amount of money, but that's not surprising. It's not like those 3 are your only options so if you think it's too much to spend on a house or you can't afford it or whatever else guess what? You don't have to!

You can stick with the free inn rooms, or buy an apartment for less than the cost of a horse. You only have to spend more if you want the bigger houses and you only have to spend 3 million + if you want the biggest ones in the entire game.

Well dont complain if you are not willing to put in the work for something. You cant expect to get something for free and expect money to just magically appear in your inventory by not working for it.
