Thank you everyone for the feedback, I appreciate discussions and Will/Do play other games to break the montony. (I recently have been having a morrowind kick so that takes up a good chunk of time.)

That being said, I do disagree with the whole "WoW and other MMOs only release xpacs everyone 18 months."

This is true, however they also add content in between like our "free updates" on class balancing, and lead-up quests to the next xpac. They also add an xpac at least as large as orsinium, if not larger.

The only reason I still play is because of my guild. They are a wonderful bunch of people and I keep coming back for them. I agree that the game needs more content but for now my guild is what makes the game for me.

We are definitely getting tired of eating reheated content here . We are in need of something new . Please don't raise gear caps , that's just more left overs in disguise .

Agree, we need some content, at least along the size of Wrothgar please. I find myself playing less and less, my interest in the game is fading, like a lot of people I seem to log in gather my goodies and log out and play something else. I hope 2017 picks up the pace.

Pvp players haven't had any new pvp content since release, cyrodill has been the same.

IC is basically a pve dlc just with pvp enabled and didn't have any pvp objectives or such for an entire year.

Dueling was implemented but pvp's already dueled anyway. You can't even use the dueling option in pvp :persevere:

Bottom line is it's a game. You're supposed to have fun playing it. If it has become a chore, rather than a fun activity, then take a break for a while. Come back later and you'll probably have a renewed sense of why you loved it in the first place. I don't understand getting "burned out" from playing a game. If you're having fun, then play. If you're not, then don't. It's that simple.

The consent obligations of farming for best in slot gear ( expecially spell Power Cure in white gold Tower) is really burning me out.

That one was of the easiest set yet for me to farm. Be thankful you still have that to do and that was 3 updates ago

Agree 100% with the OP. I love this game and have played it on and off since beta.

However, some of the ways this game is going are not gelling too well with me. The endless grinding for the very small RNG chances to get the stuff I want/need makes it feel more like an unpaid job than a game. I'm not comfortable with the way the crown shop is becoming a vehicle for greed and shady business practises, gouging the players for more and more. Gambling crates and over-priced directly available stuff is the sign of worse to come.

I'm crying out for somewhere new to explore, with new rewards to play for. I'm looking forward t the housing as much of it can be done with in-game gold and skills - but how many really desirable items will end up crown store only with ever-climbing price tags? Or end up in the gambling crates?

I really love this game, but I'm starting to feel like ZO$ are giving me the finger more and more. I'm a retired oldie and don't have an endless stream of ready cash coming in. I will, for the moment, keep my sub going, but I'll likely not buy any more crown packs (even though I was only doing so when they're discounted).

I'm feeling increasingly disappointed, and that's not a comfortable feeling when I love a game.

Holy *** dude, I don't think I could agree more. This is pretty much what I've been feeling, minus a few things. Shadows of the Hist was the last real new content, since One Tamriel is just meta content / revamped old stuff. I'm seriously concerned about the game if Homestead adds nothing but housing as "new content", because housing is the very definition of meta content, I mean it adds no replayability, it adds no new content to explore, it's just a way to have players sink gold into something for a while, stalling until the next content drop.

But yeah, what happens when everyone has their new favourite home all furbished? They'll go back to the content they've done a million times, all the while the Crown Store is constantly updated with cash grabbing deals further alienating the players.

The most terrifying thing about this content drought is the fact that the game performance has been slipping. If you haven't noticed, the game has been getting laggier and buggier ever since Shadows of the Hist, hell, even as far back as Dark Brotherhood. Now, after One Tamriel, it is at an all-time low. I mean, the kind of crap performance you haven't seen since Update 3, with crashes, bugs, memory leaks, you name it. I've got a really bad feeling that if these problems aren't sorted by the launch of Homestead, they'll just pile up until the next update, and just get progressively worse.

So yeah, no content, and an entropic game performance are the two things that are currently threatening ESO's playerbase.

I love ESO to death, which is why it's so freaking painful to watch this unfold and get worse.

I wish ZOS would start taking the problems seriously, or at least admit they can't fix them. I mean they're still freaking talking about solving the Cyrodiil lag, which has been a 2 year fight at this point.

It's weird how I keep seeing more and more, "appreciate the developers" threads, when right is the worst possible time, and the same with all the articles praising the game. Where the *** were they a year ago when the game was on fire and truly was the greatest MMO of the year?

I'm seriously hoping ZOS has some huge *** surprise waiting, that they've told nobody about, because they might need it to stop the game from running off the rails and crashing hard.

This is why they need to make pvp updates more of a priority. Sure new dungeons, zones, and pve content is nice for a while but pvp is what keeps people (for me at least) logging in everyday.

Agreed. I really love this game, but there's not much to do lately... I've done all veteran content and now there's only fishing and pvp achievements. :D
1Tamriel update was great for game's health but it havent brought any new content. And Im not really excited about housing dlc. In previous TES games I used houses as vaults and in ESO there's a bank already.

To be fair, One Tamriel probably took some doing.

Not new content, but a change that needed to be made.

    Honestly?

It took so much doing and it broke so much. PVE is a mess, PVP is a mess, and the only thing consistantly good now is overworld content for veterans. Many new players are actually discouraged.

This, is mismanagement. This is what it looks like when a company is mismanaged by a few key members.

Bruh! You play to much. Stop playin' no seriously stop playin so much.

In all seriousness, the time taken to create new content is ridiculously more than the time taken to learn and enjoy new content. Comparing ESO to WoW as far as production and release isn't really a very good comparison or fair to either. They have vastly different attitudes towards content direction, combat design, and structure. They have vastly different sizes of both player base and profit. ESO does not have WoW's budget and ZOS does not compare to Blizzard.

I have played this game since beta, however I have taken breaks at times, and I haven't always had the time to invest heavily into the game. There are definitely times that I feel burnt out, and there are times of frustration over broken mechanics that have been broken for over two years which leads to a feeling of futility.

Something that I have found to be generally true, is that when I feel burnt out the most usually I have been neglecting my obligations outside of the game. There are other games out there, especially on Xbox/PS that are not really designed for long term character progression and they make great stop gaps where I can go spend a month or so messing around on them.

I do share concern about the direction of the game and about a feeling of a lack of content and attention towards glitches and bugs. However the longer I play the more I believe this is a general feeling that I have found true in every game I've played and really is a naturally arising emotion in life.

Things are never perfect, there are simply times where things are new and fresh and exciting and at this point ESO is not new or fresh or exciting for many of us. I simply try to not destroy the excitement of new players by drowning them in the problems I have discovered from years playing.

One of the signs of longevity from players that I have found is whether they are interested and involved in PVP. Players that PVP somewhat regularly seem to stick around longer than those that don't. PVP can be very intimidating and not very enjoyable if you are new to it, however PVP combat is usually more diverse than PVE combat and that leads to more interesting game play.

In PVP there is always a "meta" and hordes of players latch onto it, but the meta is always changing as well, and you never know when you are going to run into a new player running a different setup. I normally run around with 5-6 different sets of gear and play around extensively with different, skill/gear/champion setups. This has been a big part of what has kept me around for so long.

I empathize with the feeling of being burnt out, it sucks. I hope that you can find something in this game or another to enliven and refresh your gaming experience. Games are most fun when everyone is having fun.

In all fairness, originally Zos promised new content every 3 months. Only delivered for the first year.

They didn't manage to do that. After Craglorn they went into a content freeze in order to get Unlimited out.

There's also been a lot of "iffy" content releases. The Justice System and Champion Ranks were 3 month content, for instance.

One Tamriel is weird, because it is new content, just none of it applies to players who've been playing the game for a significant amount of time.

For newbies, it appears to tripple the amount of content, and allows them to skip stuff they're not enjoying.

So it is "new" content. Just not for us.

well OP, then its going to get even worse for you, since next update is player housing, which aint really something you can explorer for 3 months until next update.

dont get me wrong, im looking forward to it so much, but if its new "real" content you're looking for like Dark brotherhood, Thieves Guild, then you are in for a long wait, since nothing will come out for atleast 6 more month of that kinda content

I have just come back to the XB1 game after 3 months off playing Star trek Online. But my god, cryptics games feel so small compared to the likes of ESO et al.

I am now saving to go play Elite:Dangerous with Horizons added on. It looks to be a nearly infinite game. Yes, most of the exploration is solo stuff, but theres a huge trading side to the game that I will try to get into.

But I think I will always keep coming back here, ESO just has something about it.
