Greetings all,

While we are glad to see everyone's feedback in regards to the elk mount, we must ask that this thread be kept civil and constructive. As one who is not a huge fan of the saddle bags, I personally understand the frustration some of you are expressing. That being said, let us refrain from Bashing as well as Insulting comments. I bring these specific points up as there has been quite a bit of that, and both are in fact violations of the rules.

We would like to keep this thread open so we can see everyone's feedback, but that will only be possible if we can all play nice. Here you can see our suggestions for being a Community Hero. Thank you for your understanding and feedback!

Saddle bags are my favourite upgrade, I like the traveller look. but it's ok to disagree.

I've tryed my best to spy players with elk mount to see how it moves and runs. I kinda still concider buying it, but hesitate to change the flawless movement of a senche to anything less.

I'll just leave this one up to ZoS without complaints. If they're decent enough to give us a Crown Sale for Christmas (only a scrooge wouldn't) then I'll buy the Elk Mount. No sale = No decency = No spending my money on an Elk Mount. Easy.

I was willing to pay 20 bucks for the new elk mount, but when I signed on and saw the price, I just logged out. No thanks. I wonder how many other transactions they could have made if they priced it better.

I guess this is what happens when they hire the person who was in charge of the in game store for SWTOR?

Having being given the opportunity to just recently join the ESO community, and having read through this thread, I would like to humbly offer my thoughts as well.

Concerning the price of the elk - I agree with what most have shared, that the cost of the elk seems quite high compared to other mounts previously sold through the Crown store.

Concerning the inability to have speed, stamina or capacity displayed or not - I agree that because many of the mounts previously sold had these options, it was only logical to assume that the same choices would be available for the elk. I agree with those who posted that there should have been information in the description that advised or warned that the elk does not, and that it is a "wysiwyg" only purchase.

Concerning how the elk looks, acts and sounds - It is the product of it's creator's vision of the look, animations and type of bugle that would create a believable mount for this fantasy world. As with every aspect of this game, the architecture, environment, npc's, music and atmospherics etc., the elk, as it exists, was designed with the intention to please. From what I have seen and heard, I feel that the elk looks great and sounds fairly realistic.

Some have shared that they like it, and others have indicated that they don't. Both sides are right. Simply put," Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

The problem here is that they have already created Elk in the game before. That look and act differently. The way they run is like deer do, with a hop, their eyes are larger and not a black void, and their coat is much more realistic. And that's where many, including myself, draw the line.

The inability to have visual bonuses for Riding Skills just adds to that. And where the Alliance Mount has the same lacking, it changes between 3 variants depending on your alliance. So there is definitely more going on there on the field of visual difference.
The visual difference also never states that, for example, the head must be covered in armour. It may just as well be a different area if that specific geometry is too difficult for ZOS to create something on. It may just as well have been it's neck. Doesn't the camel have that as well? The saddle bags that are there now could simply be toggled off. And leather straps, well... If that's not doable on a creature with 4 legs then I think I've been imagining things in-game.

If you are on XBox or PS4, you could simply sing Christmas songs while riding it. No development cost for them, hours of entertainment for the people around you.

My advice for buying mounts (or basically anything in the crown store): Check it out on the PTS first, especially if it's something expensive. I thought about buying the camel, but after I tested it on PTS I decided otherwise.

That would be great if it was possible, but not everything goes to the PTS before going live, and the PTS and the live Crown Stores are not updated together.

Right. I admit, I hadn't thought about the fact that the delay between PTS and live could be an issue, especially regarding offers that are only available for a limited time. So it doesn't work for everything in the crown store, that's a shame. Still useful for the rest.

It would be really nice and less cumbersome if we could test every item in the crown store, only for a short time like 1-2 hours, before actually buying it.

So not only is ELK the most expensive mount ever at 4,500 crowns. but also for that highly unreasonable price is it also the most lazily designed?

ZOS are getting even more brazen at ripping us all off.

Jokes on them, I have a habit of collecting various things in MMO's, for this one it was the limited type mounts, but once i come across one that 'breaks the chain' so to speak, i'm no longer compelled to collect any future ones.

I ain't spending $45 just for an overly expensive mount that ZOS couldn't even be bothered to provide full features to it like all other mounts.

The Great Elk Mount looks visually different, and is inferior, to the wild Elk walking around in several zones throughout Tamriel in ESO. And lets not forget about the different animations used for running.

I'm glad it was prohibitively expensive, it wouldn't feel unique if every one and their kid brother had one.

However I am disappointed that it doesn't have the default features of the cheapest mounts and we weren't warned about it in the description. One or the other, either have the basic features or warn us that it doesn't.

That's a reasonable request.

I think many also want the eyes to be more like the wild elks and not more doom invoking than the eyes of the Doom Wolf Mount.
