Thank you for sharing your feedback and concerns with us regarding the Great Elk mount. We do take your feedback into consideration for future Crown Store content releases. Because of its geometry and the fact that it already has adornment by default, this particular mount does not have an upgraded look for maxed out riding skills as some of our other mounts do. Some of our mounts will have this upgraded look, and some will not. In the future, we will do better at letting everyone know ahead of time which do and which don’t.
Apparently the lack of visible upgrades is intentional, or at least not something they plan to change.
I find it hard to believe "geometry" made it impossible or impractical given they managed upgrades for the bear and other mounts not shaped like a traditional horse, but I don't know the technical limitations they're working under to be honest - it just reeks far more of "we didn't want to work that hard." *Rolley eyes* And while that's fine on it's own, you don't charge 4,500 crowns for a "meh" attempt at something.
It is a company, so it must be lack of resources, not lazyness.
Which worries me. I hope they HAVE the resources and just put it somewhere else (somewhere gameplay-related, hopefully). The final price of the mount, however, makes me think that maybe that isn't the case.
I am not upset, really. I'm worried.
Best case scenario, they are trying to raise money fast for an expansion. In the past, I saw MMOs selling life time subscriptions and the likes with this objective. Maybe ZOS decided to go with selling overpriced cosmetics that had low resources allocated to their making and the RNG boxes.
Worst case scenario, they are trying to get as much money as possible before turning off the lights and are going F2P very soon.
I hope it is the first case.

The loyal members are the ones that bought the Great Elk without even a second thought. They bask in the goodness that is the Great Elk. They are not ashamed of the purchase, and cannot be shamed. They don't care what the haters have to say.knd4bamab14a_ESO wrote: »Had the wife and I known the cost when the Ice Wolf was out we'd have gotten it since we didn't have the crowns to get both and we wanted the elk the most. Never regret missed opportunities like this. There is nothing to be done about it, after the fact, and you could not have known what the future held, before the fact.
To me, the ice wolf represents two bad things that ZOS has done, all wrapped up into one horrible package. The ice mounts are just wrong. It should have been more like the Nightmare Courser, a normal mount with an icy flavor. The wolf mounts are also wrong. ZOS should have never done the wolves, they just look silly in the game because the proportions are all wrong. Together, they represent a repressed memory. I have no recollection of this mount ever being in the store, something that is likely keeping me sane.
The Great Elk mount is the better mount, compared to any of the wolf mounts, even if it does not have the stamina/capacity/speed stuff with it.Ahnastashia wrote: »someone at ZOS, decided to do a grinch money grubbing grab instead.. It doesn't really seem to be working out all that well for them.
I see them in the game. The price suggests that they were not looking for mass sales. It was intentional that not everyone would want to buy it. Only the top buyers are the intended audience.

You do realize that your threat to act out in the game is the result of nothing more than a difference in opinion regarding how someone else spends their money?

While we assume you're kidding, we want to make it clear that though we understand your feelings regarding the cost of the elk mount, taking it out on other players is not acceptable. This can be considered griefing which can lead to disciplinary action against your game account.

Maybe we could get some clarification into instances where mudballing does lie into the category of griefing and where it doesn't. So far the only instance I can recall is throwing them at players trying to use the dye stations, which would be impeding game function, but I can't think of other instances.
