"In addition, drinking Breda's Magnificent Mead (located in a keg near Breda) will net you double XP for two hours."

The great thing about this is that you are not forced to participate in earning double XP.
If you have reasons to need this, then go for it! If you don't have any need for it, don't partake of the keg!
Either way, just get along with your fellow Tamrielians (is that spelled correctly?) and have fun this holiday <3 instead of trying to go grinch on everyone :p

For me it is not about being a grinch, it is about people leveling up so fast, doing whatever they like, however they like, that they do not learn how to play the game well.

The game allows people to level up too fast, while teaching them nothing about how to play the harder content, then gives them access to all of the high level content. They then go to dungeon finder and get dungeons they cannot complete and frustrate themselves and everyone else in the PUG.

Umm heck yes the exp is decent.. If you know the right routes you can hit 3-4 of them on a nonstop exp train.

Last time I leveled out two characters in two days by farming 3 dolmens! I see no reason why this would negatively effect you in any way. In fact I have rolled up two more characters that are standing with training gear and a pocket full of ambrosia potions waiting for the patch to drop. They should be leveled out by Friday or Saturday.

I used to agree with you, but then I came to understand that ESO is not a true MMO it is a confused half breed that doesn't know if it wants to be a single player RPG or a MMO.

This game is a lot more enjoyable when you give up on thinking it is a MMO and just go with it. This game is Casual scrolls and I see no problem with free exp.

This game lost its competitive MMO feel the day it gave up the Subscription model.. Now it is just a decent single player RPG with the OPTION to play with friends. I must say that if it wasn't for the people I play with and my guild I would have left this game a long time ago.

ZOS is obviously not catering to the end gamers with the dbl XP.

When you are already way over the cap what difference does it make?

Nope. This dbl XP is for all the new customers they hope to pick up over the holiday season.

    agreed..

Also wanted to point out that 99% of this games content is trash mob fodder. There is too little content that requires players to "Play a role" Take a look at how the dallies have been run. 4 DPS and just smash through! I am sorry, but it is the sad truth. ESO is just too casual to be worrying about people not understanding how to play a role.

We have ourselves to blame honestly. Most of us that take those "Pugs" through even trials mostly only teach the DPS to stack up on bosses and smash out DPS. ESO does not force players to use mechanics or even strategy for most of the content.

On stuff like VDSA or VMOL then yes it is better to play with people who know wth they are doing, but for the other 98% of the game blind players without thumbs could make it through the content.

Bottom line... When ZOS starts putting out content that pushes players to use more strategy than button smash in a DPS race THEN we can start worrying about players leveling too fast and not understanding the game. That being said. I can agree with you in the fact that I have found that there are a growing number of players at 561 who I would rather take a few 300cp players that I know than take the 561's, but there is too little content that this holds true for so I say bring on the EXP. as I could use it to level out 2 or 3 more PvP alts.

No, I'll do what everyone else does and tick all roles on my characters so I get into dungeons faster. Then me and a couple of friends will use dungeon finder, because we want the daily random bonuses, kick the fourth player out regardless of how good they are or what level they are and then three man the dungeon.

I have been a huge advocate for giving everyone a fair go in group finder and wanting ESO to improve it so that people are better prepared for the dungeon it puts them in.

All I am saying is that double XP reduces the amount of experience a person has before they start the harder content (i.e. vet dungeons and trials) and then they wonder why they can't complete them.

Even though I'm at CP soft cap (currently 561), I'm glad that they are having this double xp opportunity. Maybe we will finally get a significant CP cap raise instead of the 30-60 every year. For those of you that don't know, the CP hard cap in this game is 3600. At the current rate this game is going it will have been out for 10+ years before we get to that hard cap at the current rate. If this game even lasts that long.

I'm looking forward to it so I can either level up my stamplar or get some really annoying skills (weapon ults >_<) leveled. Plus at least we get to keep our appearance this time so it's not like the entirety of Tamriel will be wearing a Santa hat.

There's no specific reward from being at a Dark Anchor this time (unlike the Plunder Skulls last time), so if anything the usual grind spots will be busier whereas the Dark Anchors in areas nobody cares about will still be relatively empty.

My thought exactly. Yet every time I do fighters guild dailies, I often find tons of people at them, even outside of the "dolmen train" zones. The exp doesn't seem that great and most of the mobs drop no loot. It's not like the jewelry is worth that much anymore either.

I've been playing ESO for about 3 months now, and I love the double XP events. I only have 1 character and participated in the October event and went from level 42 to cp 260 through hard grinding. Currently I'm at cp 335 and will try to take advantage of this event and hopefully reach cp 561 so that I can be more effective as a dps for vet content.

As a new player these bonuses are very beneficial for me as to where I can level up without getting "burned out" and tired of the game, trying to reach cp 561 over god knows how many months.... just so I can do more challenging content. I do not have a lot gold to constantly buy xp boost potions, and I'm still in the process of researching a lot of gear for crafting.

I know this may be hard for some, but people have to try and think of other player's needs and benefits, instead of their own. There are other players who need things such as this to get caught up.

This comes up whenever there's a push to attract new players. People seem to think that by offering bonuses to new players, ZOS is somehow taking something away from veteran players. I just don't get it.

    This.

Then the same people will start complaining about content being too hard, because they think getting high enough cp will make things easy. Then nerf will come ruining perfectly good content.
