If I go by what I had on the pts when crates were out from 20,000 crowns spent I got 2 apex mounts( guar, camel) tons of consumables, costumes and enough gems to buy the red wolf and still have about 280 odd gems left. Now we couldnt convert the consumable to gems then so don't know the ratio.
20K Crowns...that's almost $160...for only two mounts and a few costumes, and some junk potions.
Not a good deal.
Agreed. They shouldn't. They should be burned in a pit of all other bad ideas. But I don't think we matterI genuinely can't play ESO without anxiety that they're going to pop up. It's a weird feeling tbh. I just think we deserve answers.

Whaaat!! Iv spent 400 dollars on the last eso crown sale for me and my sister in preparation for the crown crates. We plan on getting all the exclusive storm items as well as the other exclusive items in upcoming seasons.

"Plan on" and "actually accomplish" are two different things. You realize that 400 dollars is not enough to guarantee you'll get the mounts, right? And that there's mathematically no upper limit to how much you'll need to spend? It would be way better if you could just, you know actually buy the mounts in the store like a normal person. But they rely on people like you not knowing how percent chance works.

You be sure to come back and let us know how that works out for you. K
We don't know and obviously we are expected to gamble our ACTUAL money to find out how something works - which is completely dirty on Zos' side.
As well, they could be completely bugged like the whatever cipher was. Who knows. We as players were not given the chance to test the "new improved" versions, and Zos was very VERY light on details.
This is my real concern,
The Crates themselves coming to game is bad enough and has caused quite a huge response from the community, but the way they are being implemented into the game, completely blind with no info at all is even worse.
Having no choice but to spend actual real money to find how something works !! really, is that even legal ? because it should not be.
100% agree. Plus without knowing drop rates we have no idea if they'll be working as intended.
I do wish you luck but I hope you realise that if this idea becomes a success by ppl throwing crazy amounts of money at it 400+ it will become the normal for every item and then gone will be the days of buying anything directly out of the crowns store you prepared to spend $2000-3000 a year on these scam crates till your bank is drained ..then scream for the next idiot to throw money at them? This is exactly how these systems a set to work feed there production costs off the whales prepared to blindly throw money at them produce a little content till the fat whale becomes thin then move to the next!KramUzibra wrote: »KramUzibra wrote: »Agreed. I agree I would way rather spend my crowns on the item directly but since that's not what zos is doing I'm forced to buy an obscene amount of crowns until o get what I want with no guarantee. I will buy more crowns if need be but 15 crates per 5000 crowns iv got about 150 chances. I think....?

Perhaps you should actually read the concerns before being rude to some of ESO's most loyal players?ScooberSteve wrote: »Whats wrong with crown crates you leeches? Im guessing you people are the ones that dont sub. Theres only cosmetic stuff in there that you dont need.

Hope makes crazy ppl live in happiness...
I do know one thing: if they do get a release date, then I'm outta here. Let ZOS milk the remaining few dry for all I care until the game dies shortly thereafter, but I won't be around to see it

The people whom you accuse of not giving back have mostly been here since launch. Supporting an unfinished game during the years before console launch with their subs. Supporting Tamriel through all manner of problems - bugs, balance issues, unexpected downtime - never yet giving up on something they still love despite all the kicks in the teeth they have received along the way.

Im not saying you have to buy the crates im just saying dont complaim when they sell exclusive cosmetics even if in crown crates. Because if they make money thats good thats better dlc's they have the budget to produce for everyone. Cant have free to play not expect things like crown crates because at the end of the day they are running a business.

The same could be said for any business. If I go clothes shopping I don't expect a mystery box, nor if I order from a restaurant, or buy a mobile phone. Why should we have them in gaming?
They have three regular sources of income at the moment - subscriptions (which provide financial security), crown store (which if given a decent and regular amount of stock would be a nice earner) and box sales. They're not on skid row here, they're just being greedy.

It matters because if the crates do well and generate much revenue then the focus will move even more towards the sale of the crates and the exclusives in them rather than game content - and similar mischief.
Why spend so much time and effort and money making a complex and interesting game when you can just sell crates?
ScooberSteve wrote: »Yeah because 5000 crowns for a mount is super cheap. Again you only care because your greedy its all cosmetic junk you dont need. That being said i dont agree with exclusive motifs being sold in the crown store either.
