Hireling and Shadowy Supplier timer

Would you find it useful to have a timer to let you know how long it'll be before your Hirelings will deliver their mail and the Shadowy Supplier will be ready to give you your alchemy mats much like the timer in-game already for riding skill (formerly feeding your mount)?

A good spot for these could be in the passives, either when you roll over them or underneath.

As far as hirelings are concerned, If the cooldowns were something like a couple of hours and you had to go to a specific location to get the goods, that would be one thing. But since we're talking about a day for stuff that automatically arrives in the mail, a timer just isn't that useful.

And as for Remains-Silent, there is a timer. Talk to her after you receive your supplies and there will be a timer in the dialogue options telling you how long you have to wait before you can collect more supplies.

The hirelings timer is *not* global, it's per character and different for every player and every character they have.
And some of us have mail that arrives twice per day, at different times for each character.

So yeah, a countdown display would be nice ...

It would entertaining to have the hirelings follow you around when they have a delivery like the merchant/banker. When you have 20 or so following you around it would be hard to miss that you have a delivery.

Answer honestly. Are you really that obsessed with collecting a small handful of crafting materials from however many characters you have at exactly twelve hour intervals just so you can collect twice a day?

Why they don't just send us the hireling mails every 12 or 24 hours is beyond me.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

Tbh I don't care much of a timer on these though I think they could be a QoL improvement for some.

However I'd really love one for the Undaunted daily randoms.

What would be really nice is if the hirelings just dumped + members stuff into our crafting bags at regular intervals, so we didn't need to try to micromanage that stuff.

Pretty sure those aren't on a timer. They just reset at the same time every day, along with all other dailies.

Shadowy Supplier is on a 20-hour timer, and the time remaining is easily accessible via the game's API, so addon makers could create a Shadowy Supplier timer just as easily as they could create a horse-training timer. (Or, better yet, just add Shadowy Supplier tracking to existing horse/research timer addons.)

Unfortunately, something like this is not possible with hireling mails.

I wouldn't necessarily need a timer, I just want them to send me the mail. Or at least keep a real 12-hr timer, instead of "12 hrs after you pick it up". Instead of making it a per-character timer, it should be one proc when writs/daily quests come up, then the other proc 12 hrs later, if you have the perk.

That way, if you miss one, it's because you went an actual 12-hr span without logging in. Not because you ended up picking it up at 6:30pm and you had to get off at 5:00pm the next day. (Probably not playing for 22.5 straight hours, though. Although, playing for 22.5 straight hours and having to get off and skip the mail or push the timer would probably make someone salty as well.)

Ideally, it would just be sent to my mail (maybe replacing the old one, if they have to), but I'm fine with having to login and get it if I have the whole 12 hrs to do so. As someone who works three 12-hr shifts a week, I'd like to not to be completely shut out during my work week.

The only issue they might have is people getting on 5 or 10 minutes before the second "proc" and grabbing everything in 10-20 minutes, but there's no reason why they should have a problem with that.

No, i got a real life.

But i do login twice a day whenever i get the chance to do basic maintenance on my 8 characters which includes collecting mail.
I also run a guild and actively sell lots of mats and gear. So restocking the guild stores is also part of my daily routine.

A timer would be helpful to me and i'm sure i'm not alone with that.

I have 12 max level characters. Something along the line of 30 hirelings. About 5 or 6 of them have high enough Dark Brotherhood skill line to have Shadowy Supplier. I can't possibly remember which characters even have the passive, let alone when their individual time is going to pop.. because I don't always have time to log in every character every day and walk em on down to the TG. Thankfully, some nice forum warrior let me know that Remains Silent is not just in the DB cave place in Hew's Bane or I'd never bother running my toons all the way there. But the first option the Shadowy Supplier has gives either bad pvp potions I could just make OR a lovely pile of alchy mats.

12 free alchy mats! Pretty nice passive. It works 1/2 of the time so I tend to get 36 or so free alchy mats per day when I have toons parked in the TG. That's pretty nice.

I would agree except that I'm sitting on many characters with so many skill points there's no drawback to getting a crazy amount of mats without ever having to farm. I will simply never run out of blue mats. I probably won't run out of purple except for blacksmithing. Even rekutas I can't fathom running out of. The last character I made I crafted purple level armor with purple enchants every 10 levels because it cost me essentially nothing. Given time everyone will be in this situation, too.

Certainly it's no way to get gold mats. I stopped upgrading anything to gold until I know for sure what I'll settle on for all 12 characters - and then I'll just buy em, as I have a job and cannot farm mats for 13 hours a day.

I spent the points to have 4 characters collecting hireling emails at the highest levels of Crafting so that one character got enough mats to refine to do the Equipment Writs without having to buy the required mats or run all over the map collecting mats for them, back when the surveys didn't give enough mats to cover doing the writs. Now, with the surveys providing so much more mats, I can afford to have two characters doing the Equipment Writs every day.

No, I don't know why I'm so OCD about it, although I've gained a lot of champion points nad at least two levels each for 9 characters doing provisioning writs since they started....
