How often do you synergize with abilities when you're in a party in PVP or PVE?

When you're in PVP or PVE and you see people casting abilities that you can synergize with, do you ignore them or do you activate them?

Every chance I get, but of course most of the time it's buggy as hell and disappears and reappears constantly so I have to spam x until it works.

That happens to me too, usually when I'm trying to activate talons, and it goes away while I'm mashing X and then shards pops and I accidentally pick up the shards xD Fun fun fun.

Because it is really difficult to activate a synergy when you want, I only really try on the ones I need. I try other times, but it's not worth it if it keeps popping up and disappearing in a tenth of a second.

As a stam DPS, it took a while for me to be able to fight the urge to take every shard that hits the ground. You learn the hard way what happens if you steal the tanks shards.

If I see a synergy pop up, I'm hitting X. Pretty much the only exception is with shards when I'm a magicka user and there are stam users around. Although sometimes I'll synergize those too either out of habit, or because I'm trying to grab a different synergy.

I have very high ping and I often miss the synergies because when the game gets my x command the skill duration already ran out :c

While synergies are very interesting, I feel they should have a greater impact in PvP, as the only spell synergy that feels like it makes a difference is Nova. Coordinating your group to run multiple synergy abilities should have a much larger impact than just have a lot of pure dd's. A great example of something that should be better is standard of might. This ability is already almost never used in PvP, and the synergy shackle is ok but rarely has much impact.

This for me is partly out of the fact that I tend to adventure with my sweetie, and second most often with another couple. We plan synergies.

For example when leveling my Dunmer DK in IC, I was working with a pair (Breton Templar and Nord Tank) who were super survivable as a team; I took the approach of using everything possible that could synergize and support; AoE slows/ and CC's and holds so then overlapping AoE damage.

It kept me alive as a lowbie while learning, and it made us as a little rampaging threesome pretty much unstoppable. This was before IC got nerfed.

I will hit every synergy that pops up, with the exception of shards. Frequently I am the only one using synergies, so my healer is always running in to hit the synergy on our tank's Nova and such, too.

My inclination to stay away from shards does need some work, however, as I don't grab them when I am tanking either, and that's a bad habit. Leave shards for the tank but sometimes I am the tank. So practicing that one.

Synergies are basically all powerful. They also return resources rather than deplete them when activated. I always try to use them unless I'm a Magicka build who is currently full on Stamina and I see shards.

On console they are much more annoying to use unfortunately

unless I know it's for the tank or someone for some reason, if it's in reach it's mine. But it's rare in random dungeons to find people who use them in my experience.

Nova is specially bad for this. I often have to get right smack in the middle yellow globe to be able to do it. The synergize radius should be a bit bigger.

Every time I'm tanking and ultimates are synced, I get that Gravity Crush/Supernova synergy activated almost immediately. If one of the DPS is stamina I leave shards there if they need it, since Dark Deal keeps me topped up between the hard hits anyway.

Same here. The funny thing is they supposedly increased the radius that you could activate the synergy in with the TG patch, but instead broke it to where you have to stand right on the sun to even see the option and haven't acknowledged it since.

I use the choking talons to create a synergy whenever possible. There is no reason not to among using the whip and searing.

Or at least I try to. Sometimes, mashing those buttons (controller) to activate the synergy can be a hassle. Not to mention finding the damn thing. Sometimes, I spend more time looking for the synergy than doing damage. In that case, I leave it be. Not worth the headache.

On a controller it's a major hassle to activate the synergies (you have to press two button simultaneously). Add in the fact that the hit box for the activation of most synergies is pretty small and you can see the reason why most players don't bother using them.
Also the game does nothing to explain to the activating player what that synergy does, only the caster can see the effect on his tooltip screen. Not very encouraging ....

I most often play as a tank, so I take any chance I can to take synergies.

As a mag tank, I get full use of the Undaunted Command passive.
Also, my DPS as tank is really low, so activating damaging synergies around numerous mobs raises my damage significantly, where DDs in my group would probably lose DPS to activate it.

When I play as DD, I will usually only take Necrotic Orbs for magicka.

Every chance I get unless it was meant for the tank or synergy sets such as those that drop from MoL. Also I will not cut a dps's blazing spear short unless it is an emergency/synergy overlap/end of fight/etc. and even then I try to give it a 5 count.

As a tank, I find doing synergies a must, because I'm a support role, and if healer is not close to boss, and most dps are busy doing their damage, I find pressing a lil button wont hurt anyone, and it will deal a whole lot of dps

I try to, but before I can react to "press X" it is gone already. It goes away to fast.
