So freaking annoying.

The boss that chains you down - Annoying
The boss that drains your magicka and health - Annoying
The final boss - Dont know because it never spawns for me! But I am sure annoying as well.

Not saying that these are too difficult just that the mechanics are just annoying.

The boss that sends the closest person into the cave.. Annoying.

I guess ZOS just decided to put every annoying thing they could think of in this one dungeon.

There's an option for you - do it on normal and itll be a cakewalk.
Also last boss spawns after you talk to a quest npc in the middle of the room.

I have done it quite a few times now as healer and I had few problems doing it.
Boss that chains you down - Burn down only one of the adds.

Simple as that. Only takes some proper, not stratospheric damage.
Boss that drains magicka and health - Pretty easy fight.

The healer just has to use barrier in the right moment, tank uses bone shield and it's as good as done.

And the final fight, well, if the healer is specialized, this should not even be a problem in hard mode (not using the protective dome).

It's actually much easier, as long as the group sticks together so the healer can keep up much better. The problem is an aoe damage, that can be prevented while standing in it, but the dark circles on the ground make it difficult, so the group simply runs to the other side of the area.

The boss that pins you down is a good indicator of whether or not your group can actually do the dungeon.

Aside from that, it's pretty straightforward. The second to last boss can be a bit of a pain, but is doable. As a Dragonknight healer I alternate between ultimate (barrier is a good one, warhorn can help too) and drinking a potion. It's always a plus if a stamina build with Vigor is in the group, as well.
If the group has very low health sometimes I will swap in Vigor over one of my group buffs for just that boss fight. The heal itself is very low since I am magicka, but stamina isn't drained so sometimes it can make a difference.
Why be normal when you can be better?

Today I ran it for the first time since 1T.

So... What the hell is wrong with the mini boss just before the giant mudcrab boss with the daedric lens?

She appears to be in perma Hardened Ward, our damage was absymal. Only my Radiant Oppression could deal base damage, the rest of the damage dealt was reduced by something like 95%.

It almost took us 10 mins to get her down, and she has something like 700k health...

I get confused between the different versions of some of the group dungeons, but isn't the mudcrab boss in Fungal Grotto 1?

And if you're talking about the boss that I think you're talking about, it sounds like your group killed the adds. There's a boss in Fungal Grotto 1 (at least I think it's in that version of the dungeon) with a pair of adds, and if you kill them then the boss gets massive damage mitigation. If you leave the adds alive and go single target on the boss, she dies easily.

This is a dungeon where having everyone in chat works (on mic on PS4) so that you can talk the tactics and work together.

Gamyne Bandu - the boss that chains you down - has two mechanics you need to be aware of. The first is the chaining, once someone gets chained, everyone else attacks the same one of the four chain holders. With very high DPS one person can take one down but best for the rest of the group to attack the same corner to be safe - only one of them needs to die.

The second is the purple link that will frequently connect 2 players together, it is vital they run away from each other to break the link before one or both of them die. This link can be hard to see if you are in first person mode or there are a lot of things going on.

If everyone is in group chat you can call out both of these mechanics, the person being chained hollers when chained and one of the other players may see the purple link when the linked players don't and can call it out.

Spawn of Mephala - she who puts people in caves - is best played with a DPS near the cave entrance. As she always puts the person nearest the entrance inside the cave, you need to avoid the healer and tank getting pulled in. Just kill the spiders in the cave and you are free, call as you go in and come out so everyone knows what is going on. Be mindful of the laser beam as you fight the boss, it can pretty much kill anyone bar the tank pretty quickly. I try and avoid having my back to the wall where the laser comes out of so I can see it when it comes.

Reggr Dark-Dawn - the boss who drains your magicka - is best pulled to the top of the steps so you don't have any of his adds come with him. Once he is dead, someone has to go to his 'alter' and retrieve the gem for the husk in the final fight. Once this is picked up, all the nightblades will spawn between there and the next boss encounter. Don't stop and fight them, simply keep moving and if you die, run while re-spawning all the way to the next boss cave to get away from them.

Vila Theran - the final boss - is a pretty basic fight. To initiate the fight, as long as one of the group has picked up the gem from the previous boss, someone goes and speaks to the dude standing beside the fountain thing. The 'husk' will then form and the boss will spawn. The boss has two main attacks, growing black circles on the ground which drain your health and a blue/purple link which links to all of you to drain your health.

The black circles are easy - just avoid standing in them. A competent healer should keep you alive through the life draining links if you want to stay outside of the husk when doing vet hard mode for 2 undaunted keys (if doing pledge). Going into the husk simply prevents the link from touching you but will not save you from the black circles.

She is best fought from a distance with ranged attacks, just keep swapping sides as she switches from one end to the other. Sticking close together will also help the healer, so avoid spreading out to all corners of the cave.

I have only fought Ciirenas the Shepherd twice as I usually take a swim. I wasn't aware of the mechanics as others have described, but have knocked her down both times anyway. Hope the above helps.

For triggering the final boss fight, make sure that you picked up the husk after defeating the mag-drain boss. You then need to give the husk to the quest-giver NPC. If you didn't pick up the husk, then you can't trigger the final boss.

Also, after you pick up the husk, you can skip the nightblade gank squads by simply doing travel-to-player to someone in your group. It'll take you to the dungeon's starting wayshrine, which is exactly where you want to go at that point...
