I rest my case. Exactly the toxic trollish insults I would expect from an RPer.

In real life there are millions of people around you who are on their own way doing their own thing. You can't expect everyone to accommodate your little needs all the time.

Your aggressive reply perfectly illustrates my point.

In your original quote, you supported the harassment and trolling of a roleplaying player. If you can't take it, dont' dish it out.

And in real life, when there are people who are deliberately causing distress on another person it is considered harassment. The OP of this thread clearly stated it was deliberate.

Thanks for editing out the rest of the quote that directly calls you out on your bullcrap, it really does highlight how much your cherrypicking reality.

I had to disregard all your wasteful fluff that it didn't warrant repeating. Now I'll be ignoring you. Have a nice day RPer.

I find the RP player crowd which is an ultra minority in this game to be a completely toxic and asinine group of the population.

For example, I was juggling fireballs with a jester costume on stage in the Wayrest tavern. All of a sudden I get whispers from one that I'm harassing his group, etc. Same thing you got.

Here's a question.... What about MY immersion?

If my character is a flame juggling jester trying to work for tips then that is my agenda. Who gives them the right to dictate to everyone to play conforming exactly to their realities and needs. Stuff like that makes me want to go out of my way to disrupt them.

I can't wait for housing to come out so they can get out of our hair with their special snowflake sensitivity.

    Hammer away OP!

This is the question allways asked by reprehenseable little mouthbreathers trying to justify their actions. Lemme lay it out for you.

We're here to tell a story. Your here to screw with peoples stories. Your fun is coming at the cost of ours, thats the point, and at that point your immersion conflicts with mine, the terms of service, common decency, and any other decent moral axis.

Hope that clears it up for you.

This seems a bit excessive for someone doing a jester show in a tavern, no? I mean all the spell-spamming, noise making jerks out there are a real pain, but it seems like people doing non-invasive, in-character emotes by themselves should be okay.

I think there's a lot of tension between RP and non-RP folks because it's so easy to troll an RP event, but I think we should all give each other space to RP like we see fit.

Yep, exactly the point. ESO is a public space and just like if you went to Time Square and demanded everyone stop making noise or doing their own thing because of your RP needs you'd get laughed out of the city.

The hypersensitivity and entitlement that the RP crowd has that they and only they may use the game is what gets to me. Something like that shouldn't even be in the Terms of Service.

Real harassment like swearing or racism etc should be taken seriously. But an OP hammering against a wall... C'mon they should grow a pair.

I'm outtie from this thread, but before I go, a message to the people who do this.

Just dont. Litterally, we couldn't care less about you. We're not here to infest chatboxes or take up space, we're here to enjoy the game in our own way and will continue on our merry way unless provoked. A dog will bite at you if you kick it hard enough and that's all we're doing. Pretending it's anything less is reprehenseable.

But more to the point, unlike everyone else here, I've seen this community flourish and thrive under not just the moderators support, which I have seen call off massive mobs of dancing trolls, back when the game was new, and I wish those mods didn't get laid off, and I have seen other players come to our defense. Those are the real heroes, G.I.Joe.

The thing I'm trying to get at, is this is a small subset of a playerbase who largely wants to get on with their lives. Attempting to justify your actions with 'we're toxic' and 'free speech' makes you look like an idiot and devalues the very concept of free speech. People want to speak their mind then ignore the consequences. As people in this thread so eloquently put it, the world does not work that way.

If you want RPers to leave you alone, Leave us alone. You dont gotta like us, but every attempt to oust us en mass has gone badly for the other guys. We are not going away, and I have no interest in picking a fight, but by god I will damn well finish it. Continue on your merry way, and you may even meet some of us. I myself am an avid PVE-er. I do pledges daily and am an avid tank main. I pugged -alot-, and if you ever saw Brogden Lighthammer doing dungeons before or after One Tamriel, you've seen me. But the second you intentionally start screwing with us, expect no quarter, for you have given no quarter. It is a concept as old as philosophy or morality. The golden rule. Do unto others as you would like done onto you, and it has a tendancy to come full circle at unexpected moments. Or, in the parlance of our times, Wheatons law. Dont be a ***. It's not nearly as hard for us to follow as it seems to be for you.

TLDR: Dont be a ***, man.

    I would like this.

But an entire server isn't needed. A flag that puts us all in the same shard would be enough.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.

Minor thing. Hell, most of us would support that, y'think we enjoy geting screwed on a daily basis? I'd like a flag that puts me in a instance with other RPers.

I agree with this. We play the same game in the same fantasy world, and we can be kind to one another without giving up our own enjoyment.

To use a real life example, my nose has been rather sensitive to strong smells lately. My coworker has always brought in lunch from home and eaten at his desk while continuing to work. When he brings something with a stronger smell he now makes sure to let me know and we negotiate a time for that lunch break. I go to lunch when he is eating, he makes sure to resolve the smell before I get back, and we are both happy without adjusting too much of our personal schedules and routines.

People trying to purposely disrupt others' RP efforts for the enjoyment of doing so, to me, fall into the same category as those who purposely do things like kill bosses required for quests so people can't complete their quest. It's childlike, trollish behavior.

People enjoying their own game play with no intention to disrupt others, but doing so in the same space chosen by someone else as well, is along the lines of one person arriving at the boss right after it is killed by another. It doesn't matter if the first player was going after an achievement or the quest or just the experience, the boss was killed with no malicious intent to the other player. Yes, now the second must wait for the boss to respawn, but nobody is purposely trying to ruin his quest.

Live and let live. Don't troll. And above all respect everyone else's right to be somewhere, whether they are there to RP or quest or grind or whatever. Work together.
