I actually quit arena after 300+ runs, need dagger sharpend, other then that I got everything. Do not like rng like this.

I used to be a slave to vMA. Then I discovered Black Desert Online, transferred half my ESO guild there, and now we're all happy again.

We have 26 players that quit ESO solely because of not getting their vMA weapons after hundreds of runs (almost 50 ex-ESO players overall that quit for various reasons). 3 of them didn't get a single inferno after 1000+ runs. Overall, I know 6 people that didn't get their inferno after 1000+ runs, but the other 3 didn't want to come with us to BDO.

BDO has a "bad luck protection" system implemented in its RNG. Chances increase to get a certain item on the next roll when you didn't get it the previous time. But then again, BiS items are BoE there. And the chances to get something that is hard to get are equal for everyone. Never in hell would the devs hand out BiS weapons to decent players for some time and then lock them behind impossible odds for everyone else who doesn't have them yet in a later patch, like ZOS did.

No longer am I a slave to VMA. I'm free at last, and it feels wonderful! I own all stamina weapons in sharpened and precise, with a few infused as well. Multiples of them as well. Just got my second destruction staff today (infused ice staff) to match my nirnhoned inferno staff I received not too long ago. I'm glossed up, and shining happily now.

I've only run vma 6 times, and obviously have nothing of use really. The fact, if true, that you are over 300 runs and still looking for a particular piece is crazy. Unmotivating really.

I won't run it 300 times lol. Don't care how easy it gets.

i would farm dungeon 300+ times to get set completed, but maelstorm, no way. tried it 3 times, once just completed normal, then second time vr which ended up me nearly in tears wondering how the hell this place is so... terrible third time i was way more geared, cp allocated "properly, so got 3 lv done, but then told to myself, no game is worth this kind of misery i am experiencing so stopped it all together.

i ran it once and said nope not worth the trouble for them weapons especially considering i can run set dw on my mages with enchants and pull at least same if not more with destro malestorm. the only maelstrom be nice to have would be dw dagger precise, sharpened or swords sharpened for my stam blade and sorc. but i pretty sure i can live with tthem without them so zos could *** themselves with maelstrom.

Got my 4th powered/defending bow in a row today... still no sign of a second axe/dagger ever dropping even in a bad trait. But it's okay. I didn't wanna use maelstrom dual wield anyway. That's what I keep telling myself

I never understood the point behind wanting precise for a Maelstrom's Dagger. I have multiple of them, and always found sharpened to be superior. In fact, my stamina builds all utilize 1 sharpened Maelstrom's Axe and 1 sharpened Maelstrom's Dagger for dual-wielding. The results I receive for utilizing them have always been superb, no matter what type of content I'm handling.

I did the normal version once. Then came to the forums and read the horror stories about the veteran version.

Since I do not min-max and my reflexes are only average, I am saving myself from frustration by not setting foot in there.

Not keen on SP content to progress in a MP game. So I haven't really run it aside from once. Got to Stage 5 w/o dying but decided that going to bed was more worth my while. Haven't been back since.

Only sharpened weapon I've gotten is an Ice StaFf, so now I wait patiently in the shadows for ZOS to make a frost mage viable.

They took something that could have been way more fun and rewarding, and turned it into something that makes people bitter and angry. all because of the worst RNG system I've ever seen in an MMO.

I enjoy my Infused Bow though.

I need a bunch of weapons but I'm not interested in grinding BiS equipment for raiding and PvP in an MMO from a solo instance, I will just accept a dps loss and move on with my life. Dumbest idea ZOS ever had.

I'll buy the DLC pack with the new deal but I don't obsess about getting the best traits out of the arena. I'll just take whatever drops, then replace it later if I get same item with better traits. But I won't make my gaming schedule around 1-2 items that are considered BiS right now.

I beat vMA several times before Shadows of the Hist and all I have to show for it are a resto staff and a bunch of rings.

When I heard that vMA is now guaranteed to drop a weapon on completion I got super excited, but then I saw that they countered that by adding trash traits like charged and decisive. I may go back in and start farming it again, but if I end up with a decisive inferno staff or something like that I will probably lose all motivation to continue vMA.

at least 300 runs (lost count around 250), 200+ vma weapons and finally last week i got the last weapon of gear that I really needed, a precise dagger. Now have precise and sharp inferno, precise and sharp lightning, precise and sharp bow, precise and sharp axes, precise and sharp daggers (only 1 of each so 2 of each might be more optimal), precise and sharp version of every 2h, all the resto staves in the world, all the terrible trait bows and staves and dw weapons in the world, all the sword and shields in the world and a whole lot of gold mats from my weekly rewards and a bunch of the dwemer style crafting mat

just to be clear I do own the DLC but I've only done vMSA a few times, never completed it because I saw it wasn't something that would be enjoyable. Id much rather it be less difficult BUT to contain triggers that allow each phase to be on the current difficulty and be considered hard mode.

I'm O K with less desirable items dropping too but I would like purple and yellow drops in a less difficult situation as I'm not a min-max or elitist player nor do I want to ever be that.

It just is frustrating not to be able to participate in content that you purchase unless you're min-max player

Am I the only one here that loves the Maelstorm Arena? The RNG is bad and token system would be great, but c'mon, its fast paced, fun, challenging, difficult to learn and master, but once you learn the mechanics you can easily run it in an hour or less.

I don't think most people have a problem with the content itself.
It's the extremely low chances of getting a reward you actually want that bothers people.

I get bored doing the same thing over and over again, so I refuse to take part in this, for example. It's not that I can't complete it, or that it wasn't fun before, I just have no desire to do it 9 billion times and fight the RNG boss every single time.

And actually, this is no different from the lottery boxes, except only more expensive. Even at 1 hour (which, I'm not that good), my time for that hour is worth more to me than $4. I see that I will wind up spending 100x that, and it just ain't worth it to me, even if I did get that amazing weapon I wanted. Why? Because I can think of tons of things that are more fun than being locked into that arena by myself, repeating the same actions over and over ad nauseam. To each their own, but this is just another RNG One-Armed bandit, you're just paying it with time rather than money. It's just another hustle.

I just want a dam sharpened 2h is that to much to *** ask for zos.100+ runs and only 2 sharpened weapons a sword in a Inferno staff weapons I won't use because I never enjoyed playing magica and the sword is worst than trash.
