In bwb, we go through a lot of toons, well, if you are an altaholic like me anyway. Its easy to try a new class or race. Easy enought to lvl that toon up and adapt it to you own play style.

My question is, do you find it hard to change your playstyle to fit the toon you have made. Example: My playstyle at the core is best described as an overextending yoloer who finds himself standing in a sea of enemies all by myself. Followed shorty by ded.

Trying to play different roles, buils, and plystyles will keep the game fresh and new. Im at the point where I have to get very creative. I think I have played just about all the "builds" I can think of. So the only thing left is to try to change my fighting style.

Do you have any special techniques that help you not revert to old play stlyes? So if I try a healer, I wont yolo to my death hah. I do have my own techniques for this, but Im curious if I am the only wierdo. Hah

@Valen_Byte i run into that issue ALOT... like if i were to jump onto my templar since playing my magdk mostly lately id have an issue at first getting back into routines... same goes if i were to play my actual healer... with alot of my builds they are in your face action... but the actual healer cant be like that cause of the fact hes not built for close combat

I used to try cloaking around Chal, using a templar. I remember once I was at chal and EP was riding up on me. I was thinking to myself "Geez, my cloak is broken" then I realized I was on my templar.

I think one of my issues I have now, is I play different toons/styles. For the first year I played stam NB, then switched to a healer, back to stam NB and then to a Mag NB. I really don't want to talk about my stam templar ( I die so much ).

Switching to a Mag NB was hard for me, I was so used to using WB on my stam NB and didn't think I could live without it. Now I love playing my Mag NB and have a hard time playing my Stam NB.

For me it just gets so confusing switching back and forth between play styles. Like the other day I was in a dungeon healing, trying to do something that was on my other toon, pressing the wrong button and then dying. I'm still trying to teach my templar not to jump in a zerg like my stam NB.

I like creating toons but i have a hard time changing play styles. I do however like playing different classes, it does teach me a lot how people counter different things I do. It helps me fight better.

My upcoming toon might be the hardest of them all to play, Stam DK with everything in health

For me it's not so much changing classes. That is hard to do at times, but it's switching from PvE to PvP and back and forth. Totally different playstyles and strategies.

Have you ever been on a new character, got killed and then immediately logged out and logged back in on your best toon to get revenge? I have

Some times I will be on my noob character to try and get a few AP, and then someone kills me. I would think "ooh.. no. I am coming back for you". Then get my best toon

Sometimes that works and sometimes it don't, most the time they are gone when I get back,.

I did that in Azura's Star last week. Repeatedly got t-bagged by the same person while on my level 18. Now I didn't log onto my "best" toon but I did kill that person on 2 of my other non vet toons. Felt good and made sure to let them know that 2 of the 3 non vets I had on that night were just well.... better. Lol

I have 2 lvl 30s and a level 27 that got passed up by my now vetted and deleted Stam blade. A new lvl 10 stamblade and plans to bring in a Templar.

And I can honestly say after my 2h stamblade I need to l2p (w/o 2h and NB) cause I suck at my S+B weaves.

lol YES... i did that a few weeks ago lol.... i forget which toon i was on.... got destroyed and then switched too ookami .... felt good to kill the person lol

NO, but have gone back on the same character over and over and over again.

Do NOT put toppling charge on your bar if you're a templar healer, just....don't. You will use it forgetting you're wearing paper tissue. Other wise I generally have no issues between builds/class and that's because I always reprogram my binds the exact same way on every character. I put the buffs,heals and dps skills in the exact same slots on every character. As fas as playstyle goes......it never changes anyways.

@Vyle_Byte Def had a blast... not sure how playing other classes as emp feels since this was my first time.... but magdk def felt slightly OP lol.... had some funny moments where i had an ad member ride up next to me while i was just watching the map and they just sat on their mount next to me, then i got off my wolf mount and waved they did the same, then shared a drink and danced then rode off on our separate ways lol ... also had a few people run from me when they saw me coming... i laughed at that one

LOL @W0lf_z13 sounds like you had good times! Yeah, I think Emp any class prob feels OP. I know I felt it, I emp'd on my vamplar and boy was it fun! Glad it was a positive experience, when Valen emp'd the first time it was stressful and I didnt think we would ever try that again lol!

I am going to use FRANK as an example of how I make myself "play" differently.

I used to always play the same toon over and over. I had one build, one class, one play style. I set all my bars the same. Set all key bindings the same. This was all fine and good until they added CP. The game changed. My build was no longer viable.

Didn't take me long to figure out that my style of play does not work with every class/race combo lol duh. The problem was that I had been playing that way so long, I had formed deep rooted habits instead of skills.

That was about the time I started to create a backstory for each of my characters. Even as far as to create a family tree. Now, don't get me wrong. I don't RP, but what I found was that it was easier to stay "in character."

That being said, lets talk about FRANK.

Frank is my attempt at a healer. (I am trying out a new set of gear but after that..healer) So, how am I going to play a healer when all I have ever been is a front man and yoloer? He has a backstory ofc lol. First thing to know about frank is that he is a pacifist. He could never hurt a fly. I mean just look at him. Frank would really like to heal everyone even the people trying to kill his friends. If you were to 1v1 frank, you wold probably see him just spamming heals. You would think he is just trying not to die but in fact, Frank is actually trying to heal you as you kill him. He just doesn't want anyone to be in pain. He is very lighthearted, so he never gets frustrated or angry. He just smiles and waves at everyone he meets. He's a great character to play when the chips are down and there is no hope in sight. Cause, Frank is always happy! : ))

Sounds a bit strange but if you have trouble changing your style, maybe all you need is a backstory to remind you who that particular character is and how you intended to play him.

Always right in the fray of things no matter what I play. In my experience if you stay in enemies faces, their first instinct most of the time is to run which in turn increases your chance of winning.

I have 12 characters... 6 are max level, 2 currently levelling in BWB (lvl 38 & 44), 3 are around lvl8-12 (ready to go as my next BWB characters, I create them early to level their horse training & get skyshards) & 1 is my alliance motif farmer (lvl13 magicka nb).

I try & play just the one character in BWB at the same time until he levels out so I can build some muscle memory with his bars. Though really it only takes a few combats to re-attache the new abilities to the right button presses in my mind, when I change characters. I actually get more confused when I temporarily swap out an ability ... like throwing rapids on my bar for a long ride... then getting ganked off my horse & go for my caltrops & get more rapids :P

I can't say I've ever loaded an older character to go kill an enemy player ,.... but I love those "revenge" kill messages So satisfying

Well for BWB players once u cap, u delete then make a new toon, rush to 10 and back into beautiful BWB!

Yeah I could but 16 is pretty spendy as it is to keep up with. Of course 6 of them are in max level gear so really I have 10 to maintain.

I haven't played in a few days and I'm experiencing withdrawal, but I've got a few BwB toons - I'm definitely an altaholic. I've played most everything besides a dedicated healer and I've sort of settled on my preferences. I generally play a higher damage build with decent sustain when I'm solo. I've been playing a stamplar that I hate even though it's pretty strong, a heavy armor 2h/bow stam sorc experiment, and a destro/resto magNB (super underpowered in PvP, but really fun), a heavy armor S&B/bow stam DK experiment in the works, a magicka DK, and a saptank.

I think the most powerful things I've done are magicka DK in small groups, heavy armor stamblade, and then I've got a top secret build up my sleeve that's actually OP. I can't wait to play her once I'm done with my surgery rotation. 30k health, 42k max stam, 1.4k stam recov, 4.2k weapon damage buffed, and 26k resists. And look ma, no clever alchemist!

I really enjoy switching between different playstyles and I think that it's great to branch out to be more than just a cloaking NB, a permablock DK, or a healbot magplar. Diversify yo' bonds! Ultimately, learning other playstyles help you get better at your preferred means of navigating Cyrodiil.
