One Tamriel Bad Idea

I'm really excited for 1T. Yeah, there will be bugs that have to get worked out. It may even take a month to get it totally stable. I expect a good bit of down time while the training wheels are taken off.

But after that it will be really nice. I'm already selling my friends who played and quit on the concept of coming back since we will always be able to play together.

what exactly are the perks then? We could already group with non-alliance members for dungeons.

its to allow you free movement, like in the single player game, although I would argue that in the Original game we were limited by the enemy in certain areas.

It's a nice idea, but I'm not confident how well the battle leveling will work in practice. It will in my opinion become even easier.

Bolded for emphasis. I agree with this sentiment entirely. Given the accessibility to a broader range of players to group with, and the fact battle-levelling is pretty strong, i'm hopeful they will tune the PvE content to reflect this.

I mean, who doesn't like a bit of challenge? Even if people want to grind, there are specs out there that would still swiss-cheese every NPC group anyway, so presumably it wouldn't impact them!

I was excited, now I'm sad, that with the crate system, it will be impossible to tell from statistics if players really liked one Tamriel or not. I wish they would atleast add them later, so it wouldn't be influenced by it.
Now it is all prepard so if the the patch 12 will be released and players will leave, they will blame one Tamriel for all the players cancelling subs and leaving and the marketing department and their new director, who would be the first to blame, will wash their hands with their excuse. As it happened so many times in gaming history - innocent or even very talented devs/writers were blamed for mistakes of someone else and they had to leave the scene, while all the devs, who were responslible, stayed or even got better position in that company ...

and this thread is just trolling :(

Think of it tho cyrodil all of us is in the same zone and you feel the Lag do you really want the Lag to come over to PVE area, For example when we got the jubilee cake voucher we had 100 plus in Glenumbra everyone was lagging out and getting High ping and low fps unless they planning on building a whole new server their current one will not be able to handle it

The populations of each of the alliance zones shouldn't move by much...

I'm EP and am currently trapped in EP zones just like the other alliances are trapped theirs... Now ill be able to go to the other alliance zones, but they will be able to come to EP..

The spread should be the same, but a mix of Alliances in a zone rather than just 1.

For Cyrodil 3 alliances are descending on one zone hence this issues, that is not what One Tamriel is doing.

That and PvE zones have phasing where when a certain number of players enter a single zone, a second instance is generated of that zone to split the population up and to relieve the server of visual stresses. PvP doesn't have that

Basically made levels and leveling irrelevant... What is there to look forward to now? A level 2 player can basically do anything that a level 40 player can do.

You still have to level up your Skills, gain attribute points and gain champion points (depending on how many you already have). Your level is now just a number to represent how far you've progressed in your Skills and attributes. Before, your level also dictated which areas you were able to go to, and which mobs you were able to kill. Well, now you can go anywhere and kill anything.

So when you ask what there is to look forward to -- what exactly was it you were looking forward to before? If it was the sense of being allowed into a different area based on your level, well that's gone, but it's a totally fair trade off of not being restricted at all in that regard. If it was just the satisfaction of gaining levels for increased power, that hasn't really changed, as you're still increasing in power through levels via attribute and Skill points.

uh, skills? Gear? Easier time/access to more difficult vet dungeons and new dungeons as you level? Also CP makes your character a lot more powerful, so there's that. What were you looking forward to before anyway?

Game has changed for the better imo, leveling a new char is a lot more fun now.

So just a few observations after a week of play.

Characters are basically tripping over nodes on the way to all sorts of locations. my crafters have been deconning and refining to beat the band. Dolmens, delves, quests and set pieces are dropping like, well, the drop of a hat.

I am still doing what i used to do as far as capitals - avoiding them except for questing needs. my best old grinding spot is less crowded than before but i myself am running it less since there are so many areas with so many delves and dolmens and quests and sets.

Thieves troves dropping the local sets too!!!

burned thru a lot of treasure maps.

All in all, yeah, all that panic... turns out ... not so much.

I cant recall the last time this game felt this "alive" not just with all the other folks actively playing but myself having the oh wow next on my list is kind of stuff. I mean, TG and DB were good but they were a set content pieces... affected a couple characters running at the time those quests.

This has all 12 of my characters with to-do lists not in a bad honey do list way but a hurry up so i can run that one for that thing next.

This is a very bad idea!
    1. In the locations now - 3 times more players. It is not possible to do a quest - constantly intervening running around the location deer grinders, threshing experience.
    2. It disrupts the atmosphere of the game. It is not possible to see the representatives of a hostile Alliance in the location of one Alliance. We can only meet in battle, in Cyrodiil.

    necromancy much?

I shouldn't but even before ONE TAMRIEL there were always representatives of other Alliance races in other alliance areas (ie. Khajits in Glenumbra, etc.). So don't bother with claims of ruins "mersion".

It's more crowded because there are more players... Might be nice, and better for performance if they would spin off more PVE area instances.

ONE TAMRIEL has proven to be an improvement.

    STILL NECRO!

I repeat. This update spoiled the game. If you do not agree, prove it. And for insulting the word "necro" - I'll report to the Moderator, you violated the rules of the Forum.

    Hello everyone,

This post is to let you know that we've felt it necessary to put this thread down, as it seemed to have died some time ago. At this time we'd like to try and keep Draugr threads from roaming around front page, pushing down newer and more lively threads. Please feel free to create a newer thread on this subject if you are unable to find a more recent one on the topic.

    Thank you for understanding!
