Pricing is upside-down. How is name change more expensive than appearance change?

Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood and the Argonian Dungeon Pack are overpriced enough as it is... Having features like this surpass the price of DLC is outrageous.

I was looking at at least:

1x name Change
1x Hair change (just the base styles, not any of the new ones)

But not after getting a peek at those prices... too much RL money spent on crowns for the extremely minor benefit (all of it vanity changes) that these store additions provide.

It sucks too. I had a great new name picked out and was kind of excited to apply it to my Main, but not at those prices. ZOS just lost at least two purchases from me.

And that's how I make my displeasure known.

I have never been more disappointed.

I would rather delete one of my existing characters now and grind a new one, than indulge with this lunacy. I don't think I will continue my sub, glad it ends on Aug 1.

Well, I get your situation. However, up until now you actually had no options. You had to live with what you created or destroy it and start over. Now, you actually have the decision, and it is your decision to make. Is it going to be worth it to you to spend the Crowns to change things, or will you just continue to play as you have since you created them?

I have no plans to do the race or name changes. I might have done a name change, if it was cheaper, but probably not. I will probably not have to do an Appearance change because I am happy with everything but a few hair styles. I will buy the Hair Pack. I like the option to be able to do all of this in the future, if I change my mind. If I need to do an Appearance, Race, or Name change, I will simply pay the price.

Also, keep in mind that Crown sales happen. Buying Crowns at a discount might be enough for some limited changes.

I find some of the prices to expensive.
The price for a racial change should at least include the name change, as it's lore breaking when you name your char in realtion to your race.

The name change is overpriced, what was wrong with 1 or 1.5k... ?
So make racial change include the name and 3k is something I can chew on and lower name change.

I've expected this to cost 2000 crowns, so these are positive news for me.
I'm not interested in race change, but appearance change looks like more design effort to me than a simple race change.

Doesn't make sense that it costs 2000 crowns more than appearance change, other than preventing people from performing a race change (which it hopefully does, we don't need a Tamriel where only 3 races exist. Race change should have remained in the land of illusions just like the justice enforcer system)

If those prices are true they should have spent their time and efforts on fixing bugs and crashes instead of
Making something that should just be in the game a huge cash grab. We all wanted a barber shop but I don't think any of us wanna pay the price of a new game to spruce our characters up on a game we have all payed...and payed...and payed for.

Name change price is ridiculous. Race change even moreso. I guess I will not be changing races of my stamplar and stam sorc now. Appearance change is nice, not far from what I expected.

Whoever thought of these prices must have a screw loose.

I understand your point. But everything in the Crown store is more of a WANT than a need. You don't have to change your name/appearance/race. You WANT to change them. There really is no need for you to do that. You do it because you want to have better stats. You can still play the game no matter what race or appearance or name. Which is why ZoS is making it as expensive as it is. They are creating a NEED for you to change your name/appearance/race, and that is what bothers me. I get it they are a business, they need to generate income as much as they can. But pricing items like 2500 crowns for a name change? There are more important things in real life that I would rather have than virtually change a character name.

I've never complained about how ZoS price items in the crown store, because more of often than not I believe they were reasonable. I didn't get the 4k mount, because I didn't really need it. This one though, they are clearly just exploiting the desire of their players to make cosmetic changes. I will never pay that much.

I'm pretty sure this is what ZoS is basically saying to you: Live with the crappy decisions you've made or buy our over-priced crowns. I am not sure, I can support a company with this kind of business philosophy. They hyped this name/appearance/race change so much, that it has now become a "need" for many, so they thought why not over-price it?! Tsk. Tsk. Very disappointing.

I can understand charging a lot for a race change as you don't want it too easy for people to switch because a race gets nerfed or buffed - even though it now makes it pay to win.

Being on console and having all of my characters created when nobody could see your characters name, I would like the opportunity to rename some of them now that everybody can see them. Charging exorbitant amounts just to change the name of a character when it has absolutely no impact on how the character performs is insane.

Gah, I'm so disappointed with this news

Have been waiting since beta for this as i often have new ideas for characters and want to change things up. For me it's got nothing to do with being the flavour of the month, I just that I like change.But this game is such a grind, starting fresh characters and redoing all the content for the zillionth time to complete my character ...

Was planning to do a race and name change on my main, but €41 is a crazy price to pay! I refuse to support that as well as pay a monthly sub.

I think a crown store boycott is needed for a while! Hit them where it hurts. And don't reply with "don't like don't pay just reroll". I spent a lot of time getting my character to where it is and simply want a few appearance tweaks for a reasonable price if not for in game gold.

The game and entertainment in general is all about I want, not I need. You dont need a better pixel weapon, you dont need higher stats on your character screen. You want them, because progressing your character is entertaining for you... rather than instrumental to your survival. By the same token getting the character to look right might be just as entertaining for someone else.

1k for appearance change is way better than I thought it would be. Not as good as I'm sure everyone hoped, but definitely something I'll use once.

I understand where you guys are coming from the amount of money iv spent thus far is close to 2k real money! Never in my life have i spent or even thought i would spend anywhere near 2k on a single game. This game is my only hobby second only to the gym so I invest heavily! I would live to support your cause and help lower prices I just can't bring myself to miss out on any of these awesome items/mounts/pets/houses/hairstyles I just can't wait to see who they offer in the future.
