Message me if you want to do trials/dungeons, or need a trading guild! Flawless conqueror magsorc with a bad sense of armor fashion.

Since this necro'd thread is still going...

Hubby and friend both quit shortly after launch, and I found a buddy to go through all the overland quests with (back when ya still actually needed one lol), but she too was gone by the time we should have started on to Craglorn and group dungeons etc..

I got *roped-in* a few times since then for various group dungeons, quite accidentally (someone in guild asks for a body to come stand on spot X and wants me to come along etc). These random experiences though few and far between have been um, exciting? hair-raising? fun, okay, yeah, I had fun. BUT, I made sure those people knew I was a liability as I have spent the majority of my time in this game pve questing, crafting, and harvesting.

My main issue is probably that I spend too much time now reading horror stories here. Coupled with the inability to voice chat as I know that is necessary for learning mechanics unless I can find someone with the patience to actually type nowadays...

My experiences have been that people I meet play this game like it's some kind of race (no matter what they are doing). Maybe it's just the age of the average players. Maybe I'm too old. Maybe I'd like to actually know WTF is going on...? ROFLMAO. Too much to ask I suppose.

Yeah, I would like to do group content, but I too am scared (for lack of a better word). So, I probably will never see much of that side of the game. Someone mentioned in another thread about there being solo, no reward versions of group dungeons so that people could see them/learn mechanics BEFORE expecting others to teach them. But seriously doubt that will ever happen.

Yes, I am aware of the multitude of videos on these dungeons.... watching is not the same as doing. :)

Be afraid. Especially with the only dungeons being released pandering to the hardcore crowd that will kick you if you dont have meta builds.

    Be afraid.

You basically need good gear sets( crafted gear, all purple/gold) and you need to know your class.
Also, for veteran the minimum CP points you should have is 350.
Watch YouTube guide for veteran dungeons.
    Edit:
I don't understand, why others are saying you don't need good gear ( all purple) but for veteran you need purple gear.
    Do first normal, its easy!
For veteran stay out of vWGT and vICP, they are very difficult and you need good experience players or very good status.
Lastly OP, remember its a game. So, those pro players are/ maybe just enfants , who rage at others but its your responsibility to improve and ask questions.

For those, who laugh at my recommendation. I say to you all "Good for you !!".

To be honest this guy doesn't know what he's talking about and is probably one of the numerous elitist that play this game and ragers that you are scared of.

i just started trying the dungeons a few days ago. the normal dungeons are mostly bearable and and be done even with a noob tank, with the exception of a few that are significantly more difficult than the others. (i've been told white-gold tower is bad news for example)

i asked my guildmates whether i'm ready to try veteran dungeon (at cp200), and i was told no i was not, but i could wait until a day with an easier veteran dungeon to try, preferably finding a group within the guild. i waited until there was an easier gold pledge veteran dungeon and went ahead with group finder anyway, and signed up as a tank. the healer was experienced and led us through a short cut that avoid many of the trash mobs, and the group mowed down the bosses quickly, and they tanked the boss and rez me when i was down a few times. they managed to carry me to finish the dungeon and the group only got wiped out once at the last boss. regrettably i was a burden to the group but they didn't kick me out lol

What dungeons exactly? I run as a tank. This is my story in short:

    - As I leveled my main I always searched group to finish the group dungeon in each area (October-November 2015)
    - I started doing silver pledges on my main character as soon as I hit level 45 and got the undaunted invitation (mid November 2015)
    - I started doing gold pledges on my main character as soon as I hit level 50 (VR1 back then) and finished all of those in my 1st rotation at VR1-2, except VCoA (which was not nerfed back then) which I only managed to finish at VR4, after I upgraded my gear from level 44 green training to VR3 blue training (late November-early December 2015)
    - completed most pledges in that gear until I hit VR16, saving all the keys I got in the process, and then upgraded to VR14 purple gear, and then spent my CP - had 240 by that time but ran without them to make it tougher (early January 2016)
    - between early March (TG release) and late May (just before DB release) I ran 6-10 veteran dungeon a day with random groups from tool for the XP bonus and also to farm mats and monster heads. I hit CP501 which was the cap back then exactly 6 months after I had reached veteran ranks and had collected almost all monster heads. Then I bought IC DLC.
    - ran VICP and VWGT for a couple of months, and got Imperial City Challenger title at the end of July
    - bought SotH DLC the day it was released, and immediatly proceeded to run the dungeons with a group of friends, got the veteran hard mode on both within 2 days of release, but have found no PuG capable of getting 2 keys out of those dungeons since
    - I now run most daily gold pledges and virtually all silver ones and the random dungeon with tool, or at best zone chat PuGs. The DLC dungeons only with the latter, and sometimes with guildies.

*this is my 1st online multiplayer game, I have only played single player games before.

I try to do silver and gold every day, but the other day when it was vCoS my group failed.
Have to say I was definitely at fault as I couldn't get the hang of it, think I need to change stuff round for the harder dungeons so I can take some hits and survive.

Its put me off doing it again to be honest, don't like to think I am the weak member of a team!

All that said, there's nothing better than doing a run with less experienced players and helping them get through it.

I probably prefer doing dungeons and trials with guild members as generally guildies are way more willing to help people.

I've begun seriously considering other games because not even dungeons are a safe place to goof around anymore.

I used to have alot of fun with my build but slowly but surely it's been edged out by this new exremely difficult content.
Part of the problem, is this game does not know what it wants to be. It has the the healer tank and DPS rolls, but only one of those rolls has a rotation. Unlike other games with the holy trinity, this game does not have -something- for the tank to do when their not mitigating damage. They have a damage rotation, and while that rotation is not terribly effective, IE, they dont do alot of damage, it's just -something- to do.

But after imperial city and the softcap removal, after various updates, after a skill system that seems to put some very needed tank skills into PVP obtained skill lines...I dont enjoy dungeons as much as I should. The game has an indentity crisis.

People who play support rolls and tanks specifically have been pushed into a corner and left to rot. We dont have a rotation. We are not needed for most of the content. And when we are needed, we are needed to build a specific way. This is easily fixed, if the game would have us quest as one then and then spec as another. Multiple specs. But the game does not want to give us that.

The games design suffers from a lack of focus. I wouldn't suggest playing this game, much less setting foot in dungeons until focus is regained.

If anyone doesn't want to do the hard veteran content, what is wrong with doing normal mode dungeons?

For real though i take cp10 people through vwgt with three dwellers, whats the big deal?

If you want to do dungeons, hit me up, we run make sure its a culture fit and you now have 200 people that enjoy dungeons at your call.

Im sure there are other just as focused groups out there. Just because pugging left you sad, find decent players and stop expecting random people to be nice.

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.
