Housing: Crowns or Gold

    My guess is that :

    - housing available ONLY to purchasers of the corresponding DLC (or ESO+ members)
    - basic equipment available for ingame gold
    - more fancy options available in the crown store

    because :
    - ESO+ - only features are sufficient for now (crafting bags + costumes dyes)
    - the game desperately needs gold sinks, there's too much gold in the economy at the moment imho with too little to spend it on
    - and of course crown shop improvement must be there as well, as a permanent, long term source of renewal (and cash for ZOS).

Especially that bolded part. Sure there's things that you can get (armor/weapon pieces, materials, useless items) and there's the inventory/bank slot gold sinks. However since most of that you can get through writ surveys in terms of materials, armor/weapon pieces either through crafting or DOING content (and praying to RNGesus) I have no use for gold unless I'm really short on upgrades. People who are subbed get the crafting bag, which just CLEANS every inventory of every character, so there's no reason why you shouldn't have more space with it. "Send it to me instead!" Yeah, no. Just no. I'd rather spend my gold rather than give it to someone who's generally looking for a handout. Anita's guess is more reasonable than what people have been speculating for the most part.

If there is no in game gold option for MOST items, I will be canceling my sub and I will be moving on to another game. I spend a good amount of time selling and playing the guild trader mini game... I like making gold. It is a big part of the game for me. Ive made millions and have little to nothing to spend it on = LAME.

They really screwed us with the barber shop. The outright greed of that move to me is appalling. This is my most anticipated addition after text chat. I am very much hoping and looking forward to having somthing cool to spend my characters hard earned gold on. If @ZOS screws us again I will find something else to spend MY hard earned CASH on.

Might as well leave now. Housing will be a DLC so crowns.

Crowns of course, what business would give away content? None.

In the age of 'Treat your customers as cash cows': none.

On a side note, what's even the point of housing? In Skyrim it was rather clear: storage, crafting, etc., but in eso? Seems redundant..

Maybe a DLC "land plot pack" that unlocks all possible houses will be sold for crowns. All other improvements should be for in game gold.

The "gold only" option sailed with the end of the P2P model.

If there are any B2P people here who are asking for the "gold only" option on this... then I think my irony meter is going to break.

Best you can probably hope for? A hovel for gold with very basic furnishings. Anything else is likely to either be Crowns, ESO+ or both.

Welcome to the world of B2P. Isn't it just dandy?

crowns or eso+, we aint getting anything for free anymore, just wondering if bug fixes are gonna become part of DLCs in future
I see the "Deeds" being sold in the crown store but how about the furnishings and decor?

I don't think I'll be one to spend any real money to purchase crowns in order to get the deeds. Kind of ridiculous.. Although, it is a business and a business is about profit and making more money.

Yeah, this has crossed my mind, too.

It can't be like Skyrim/Oblivion housing. However, this is ZOS. They have a lot of great ideas, but little bandwidth to implement them. It will probably will be like Skyrim housing and be nothing more than some Crown Crafting Stations, a bed that you cannot use, and tons of Crown Decorations.

Given some initiative, and perhaps a development team working on it where management forgot to tell them not to make housing useful and interesting, I suppose that it could be something cool. By this I mean, where something is happening, like quests, hirelings, etc. Once marketing got involved, though, it would require a Crown Extraction Hose firmly attached to the player's wallet.

This will end up going deep pockets crown store . They'll rustle around in your jimmies until all the lint is picked clean . Full prison mining helmet cavity search and pat down . They'll find money you didn't even know you were hiding .

Is it possible to purchase PC/Mac "Crown Cards" at a retail outlet and use them with an account tied to a game purchased through Steam? If so, that might be a way around this, if it continues to happen and the Crown Cards can be found.

(I have asked this question before, but the responses were varied)

The way they are upping ESO+ most likely it'll be sub required to own a plot, with new boss/dungeon based items dropping in Trials and actually nice looking items and utility being sold in the Crown Store. Some of the really nice items will of course be of limited availability.
