Honestly, I see something like that cost 5 million gold. Ideally, a couple of the smaller ones would be free but as a reward for completing a quest. Of course I was also expecting a gold based barbershop in game, so who knows.

We'll find out Q1 next year.

I don't think it's a castle. It's probably just a gated community that would be like any other area with walls around the city. I'm thinking it's just gated like that because it's on the coast.

I'm really hoping it will be for in game gold, and something everyone can have access to (if they are willing to spend the gold to do it). I can see certain crown store items, but I hope they will just be convenience things that you can get faster if you don't want to spend the time in game farming whatever item. If they put it entirely behind the crown store, I believe that will crush a lot of people's souls about housing. I really hope they don't do that. We have waited a long time for this.. don't disappoint us ZOS (please).

gold other than buying yellow upgrade mats or you just got to have that yellow necklace of vicious death there's no reason to spend a large amount of gold in this game since VR 16 mats are plentiful and easily farmed and other than the occasional motif buy to finish up a set there no reason to even spend gold if your a maxed out character in all yellow gear.

That's just wishful thinking ... it will probably be just crowns only.

House is included with ESO plus, or purchased with a large amount of crowns. Additions / upgrades are purchased with in game gold OR crowns.

They'd be out of their minds to make this an ESO+ only perk. That would alienate a lot of people who are here because of the B2P model, willing to buy Crowns but not have a recurring fee. Those who say ESO+ needs more incentives: why are you even subbed now?

They'll probably monetize it somehow. I'll be critically comparing the monetization of housing of this B2P/P2P hybrid to the monetization of housing in F2P titles such as Wildstar, when we learn the details. I don't understand why so many already surrendered: "Yeah, ZOS is gonna milk us." Boggles my mind.

I'd prefer it to be like DLC: ESO+ members rent it, the rest buys it, that's that. Everything that comes with it is in-game currency/crafting etc., with Crown Store alternatives similar to how Motifs can be farmed in-game and bought in the Crown Store. Hoping Housing items wouldn't be as grindy as some of the rarer Motifs.

I expect it will be a combination of gold and crowns as others have said - as it's DLC I expect it to cost real money - ZoS is a business after all and housing has the potential to be really popular.
What I would really like to see though is the ability to make our own furniture and decorations, in different styles, which would contribute to RP and the in-game economy and we don't all end up with essentially the same house.
Whilst I loved Hearthfire it was really irritating that there was such limited options - I couldn't even move the furniture! Some of the placements and decorations drove me mad, so although I expect this sort of thing to be crown based, I hope they include a range of options and functionality too. Guild halls would be cool as well, but I'm not holding my breath on that.

I have in mind several options that all seem real to me.

• Gold. Housing will be available to every single player without having to spend any Crowns on anything related to it from the house itself to its little perks. (Very likeable option for me).
• Crowns. Getting a house will cost Crowns and following upgrades, that might be released frequently at some point, will also cost Crowns (For me the least favorite option).
• Gold and Crowns. Buying the house for Crowns like a DLC and continuing to improve it with gold or vice versa (A very real possibility)
• ESO+ only. Only available to ESO+ members. I'd be really sad if I saw this as player housing is heavily requested, I am worried ZOS will pull off something shady like this. I'm all in for Crafters Bags only for ESO+ members because that is a 'little', nice addition, right. Player housing is not a little nice bonus, that should be a whole new DLC!

Should the gold only option be correct, I would be completely satisfied and embrace ZOS, but even spending let's say 2-3k Crowns on the DLC and only gold afterwards would be fine with me, just not based purely on Crowns/ESO+, that would make me homeless for good.

If ZOS gave a rats arse about their player base, you'd have the option to buy it with in game gold. Got my doubts though.

If there is no in game gold option for MOST items, I will be canceling my sub and I will be moving on to another game. I spend a good amount of time selling and playing the guild trader mini game... I like making gold. It is a big part of the game for me. Ive made millions and have little to nothing to spend it on = LAME.

They really screwed us with the barber shop. The outright greed of that move to me is appalling. This is my most anticipated addition after text chat. I am very much hoping and looking forward to having somthing cool to spend my characters hard earned gold on. If @ZOS screws us again I will find something else to spend MY hard earned CASH on.

Im going with crowns to have the right to own a building and then gold to purchase one along with paying land tax. I really can't see a gold only option, after all it's a business, but i really hope its a money sink too. I think there will be rare items for decoration purposes on the crown store too, like manaquins etc, hopefully these will be able to be sold on the Guild Traders.

--Base house will sell for 1 million gold, and will look like the Shack in the Imperial City Waterfront in Oblivion. You can upgrade it with one rug (for 1200 crowns), and one painting (2500 crowns). The Shack will be the furthest thing from any wayshrine, somewhere in the swamps of Shadowfen, surrounded by a full replica of the spider level of the Maelstrom Arena. Good luck getting inside!

---Crowns house will cost 10,000 crowns and be a Mansion more akin to the Telvanni estate in Morrowind, be located in prime locations in each of the 24 areas, with an incredible amount of customization options. Furniture, wall types and colors, rugs, paintings, trophy cases, mannequins, stables for all your purchased mounts, all pets not currently in use can wander the grounds freely, players can choose any architecture style for both interior and exterior, personal wayshrine, anyone else in player's party can visit and participate in various games like Wamasu Racing and Pin the Tail on the Kagouti, or duel in the exclusive Garden Arena, etc.. All additions will range in price from 500-5000 crowns (note: creators reserve the right to raise these at any time, with no notice whatsoever).

It will be awesome. And REALLY fricking expensive.

I would think the smart thing is to do it a bit of both. Maybe make a basic hovel/shack type of housing available for free via a quest or for in-game gold (maybe even a few basic furnishings) then adding other more glamorous housing to the crown store along with elegant furnishings, color palettes, etc.

If houses will just be available for a select few, I'd rather have it as ESO+ only than as "rich traders" only.

My guess is it will be Crowns. Or a DLC.

I'm all up for having a nice Guild Hall which offers room and board for guildies, and crafting stations!
