Oh the other thing I haven't been able to find (besides anything in Auridon or Bosmer pod homes in Valenwood zones) is Orc longhouse type thing which is another style I would expect people would be keen on for certain characters - so I just reckon they are only partway through putting them in-game - I hope! It's as if so far they have only really done one style in AD zones, with some in Reaper's and one at Bandaari Trading Post.

EDIT: It would be good to have something in Auridon (it would be a lovely area for a nice beachfront home, and fishing shack type options), Bosmer pods in the Valenwood zones, and there would be room for Orc longhouse type thing in Betnikh or wood-orc oriented stuff in Valenwood.

Yes, post 5 has everything we've found. We've been searching for the NPCS houses, those are a little harder to find. Wayrest is an old NPC house.

I doubt ZOS would put a restricted access to a DLC - IC i'm looking at you - so it will most likely be instanced (unless it is part of a base game patch ? but a new feature for free is highly unlikely)

    Hahaha ! Time share , that's funny !

So we all look like we are walking into the same house but get magically ported to our individual house . Probably be able to invite grouped friends like dungeon . I didn't really enjoy this in GTA much . Very lackluster . Like buying a condo .

Agree.... they will make a fortune off this.... a rented housing option will never happen when they can do it instanced and sell stacks of houses to people....

I would expect it to work in a similar way to the race change etc... you buy a token in the crown store then redeem it... except in this case maybe you buy a 'deed' to either a small medium or large size property and then redeem it in game with an NPC in each zone capital who then gives you the keys to your chosen property. Something like that...

It looks like we're spotting large and medium houses mostly. Don't seem that too many 'small' houses are found yet.

Personally, I want a house in the Dark Brotherhood mini-zone 'Jalaal Mountains' (sp). It's the only heavily wooded area of the game I've seen yet. Autumn colors, lots of wildlife, and this demonstrated that instanced mini-zones can suit quests just fine. So my argument is of course, why can't it also support instanced housing as well?

Just have a wagon driver in towns, and let players walk to them and say 'take me to my Jalaal Mountain Estate'. Then we land, get a private out-of-civilization world where we can invite our friends and group members to, and it can be larger and more involved than these that are shaped within the zone. Caves, gardens, etc.

Keep what they are currently making, and make the instanced estates larger projects in the future.

As for the point of instanced doorways: having played in instanced neighborhoods, instanced doorways, and open world cities, I've found that instanced doorways actually require the least amount of 'suspension of disbelief'. Lots of abandoned, space-consuming houses really put a damper on my experiences in games like UO, SWG, LotR, EQ, EQ2, and DAoC.

All those players running up to one doorway is a little bothersome at first, but it's such an easy method for installing housing without making the world feel empty.

I hope these instanced gateways where we access our instanced yards before actually going into our houses include the options for placing our pets, mounts, NPC hirelings, AND new NPC friends we might recruit/hire/buy/meet. An empty house may be what some want, but I'd prefer for the option to having servants, a stables, and some type of NPC fillers.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

So we all look like we are walking into the same house but get magically ported to our individual house . Probably be able to invite grouped friends like dungeon . I didn't really enjoy this in GTA much . Very lackluster . Like buying a condo .

Maybe there will be a whole instanced area around the house, where you won't see anybody but yourself (like you were in another instance in Malabal Tor western city, which was occupied by orcs, when you haven't finished the quest, and the others who finished, walked its roads normally, and you were invisible to each other).

So you won't see anybody entering "your" home, because in the area you'll be alone.

That's not a bad idea. A little micro zone that's phased to you. As you get 50 ft from your home, you begin to phase (except for friends, guildies and group mates, or maybe just group mates), letting you feel as if you're entering your home separate from everyone else.

Not a bad idea at all.

I looked all over for Auridon homes. I know that map better than my own neighborhood, but I couldn't find anything :(
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.

I'm just going to put this thought out there - no matter how wonderfully player housing is done, there are going to be large numbers of people disappointed if it is all city homes or large estates - I do hope they consider putting in some RP options such as a woodland hunting lodge, a beach fishing hut, a cave, a small farmhouse, an isolated cottage, a crypt, a ruined tower (to name but a few things off the top of my head that RPers will go nuts for).

My guess would be they will start with few houses on popular locations, then add more as we go. Probably as unlocks in the Crown store...
