Got everything now except these 4;

These 2 are locked inside houses in Eastmarch in the Bonestrewn Crest.
- Kerthor's Supply List (Houses, Shops, and Trade)
- Letter from Gabbi (Letters and Missives)

This one is in an inaccessible area within the Reliquary of Stars Ruins.
-Redfur Journal, V.2 (Plots and Schemes)

This one is in the Temple of Mnem, Cyrodiil. It seems to be sunken into the ground.
- A plea for the Elder Scrolls (Letters and Missives)

Any hints would be appreciated ^^

It is there, it is just under the surface. I was able to get it after a few attempts....locate which pedestal it is on and leave the temple. Kill the guards nearest it. Exit combat. mount then rapids. Ride in and read book before combat triggers. took a few attempts but this has worked for many players.

A plea for the elder scrolls in ep temple still refuses to spawn for me. I have visited that temple on separate occasions after the gate opened for ad on separate occasions and still it wont spawn. I have tried relogging and this book just refuses to spawn.

This one is bugged, but not in the sense of not being spawned: it actually IS spawned, but it's underneath the pedestal it's meant to be sitting atop of and you can't interact with it. You can see the "lorebook glow" on the sides of the pedestal which confirm it's there :[


The four bugged lorebooks I can't seem to get as an Aldermi Dominion character:

Plea for the Elder Scrolls (spawned but bugged beneath pedestal)

Information Request from Emeric (not spawned at DC gate as intended)

Updated Instructions from Dortene (not spawned at DC gate as intended)

Orders to Halskar (Eastmarch Blindsighted quest, no spawn outside quest-only catacombs. I haven't found anyone on quest to group with though, so it might be available via that method)


Fighting RNG for two more Imperial City Bookshelf only lorebooks myself, then I should be 100%... outside bugged ones of course.

What I normally do is add books to the Seeking! tab until I can check on them (or someone else in the thread posts where they are). If they are truly bugged/inaccessible they are moved to the Master tab.

I encourage everyone to report bugged books via the in-game bug tool! I try to do the whole list once a week.

Rhanbiq's Notes is missing in the doc, i guess.

Cant access after main quest of thieves guild completed. You only have it in your inventory for a short quest-step, it doesnt appear somewhere after completing. Not even in a locked location, so you cant group with anyone just doing this quest. I did this complete questing with a twink just to confirm this (and maybe try to place the book to the bank in the hope i can take and read it with my main).

i have plenty of chars which i dont quest with. in fact, i only quest with my main, all other 12 are quite lazy regarding quests.

Already tried that method, but it did not work. you dont get pass the Soldiers in front of the Door

I am making a list of the books only available on the Imperial City Bookshelves in order to (hopefully) convince ZoS we need physical copies of these books placed in Imperial City instead of relying on the randomness of the bookshelves which have really strange reset behaviours.

I'm having an issue with "Tales of the Spinners" in the Devoted and Deranged section. I've gone to the coordinates listed both by Lorebooks and online and, indeed, on the second level of the treehouse thing at that point, there's what looks like a scroll partially unfolded on the table. However, I can't interact with it. At all.

Please add this to the list of books that disappear when you complete the quest. I went in on a character who's barely set foot in Greenshade, and she found it, sitting on a table beside the above-mentioned scroll, whereas neither of the toons who have finished that area quest could find it. Now, if only having found it on that character counted for my main/ eidetic memory hunter who can't get it until ZOS makes a fix.

Might I make a suggestion? I know it's tedious, but perhaps give someone (or quite a few someones) a list of these books and their coordinates/locations and have them verify that they're there, both before having done any quests in the area (assuming you don't get the book during the quest) and (most definitely) afterward. Going on a lorebook hunt and running into ones that aren't anywhere to be found can be more than a little frustrating.

On a separate note, how are people getting the Cyro books that are behind walls for the opposing factions? For instance, for an EP, how would they get the Orders for General Dortene (or something like that) in the DC gate area?

I found a methods which worked (for me) every time for all book like this.
i stand in front of that bugged book, press <ALT>+<F4> (closes the game the hard way), open task-manager, kill eso64.exe and relogg as fast as possible.
The book was always fine after this.
Dont know why it makes a difference from logging off in the normal way, but it seems it does.

Sadly this doesn't work. I tried grouping with a friend that hadn't done the quest. You remain trapped outside during the portion of the quest that requires you to go into the barracks. He found the book and interestingly he said it respawns on the ground in the snow on right side of the entrance to the barracks but when he completed the second portion of the quest it vanished. It never reappeared for my character during that point either.

Before this update I had all lorebooks, so all my missing ones are from Summerset update.
I will try and put where I found them if I remember, if not I hope the lorebook addon will be updated so that can show you soon.

One of the bugs already is Sil-Var-Woad has 3 Lorebooks which you have to get during the quest, because you get locked out of the conservatory after you're done. Getting help from a friend with the quest does work around it.

According to the UESP these lorebooks do not exist, I think most, if not all, do exist, but under a different name in-game.
If you still can, try to read them during the quest, as I have tried looking for locations after the quests and have find none so far.

Just like the Message in a Bottle achievement the Message in a bottle lorebooks are random finds from those bottles scattered across the beaches of Summerset, I believe it's pretty random where they are on the beach as I have had no consistancy between pts and live and different characters, just have to search. You're most likely going to get a trash quality item called Waterlogged Note, just have to keep going. Nice thing is you can get some Giant Clams along the way for the new materials, bad thing it's random which of the three you get, and you can get them more than once.

Actually I think you're right. The message of the lost sailor is bugged and does not count towards the journal when read, only achievements. It's probably the one of the three I'm still missing. These are the only 3 messages I've found with 100 junk items right now. But still missing one of the three messages as well.
