I would enjoy the location of one of those books.
The coordinates are shown by Lorebooks.

Well, I doubt I found them "all by myself"... then again I doubt that you wouldn't know what's in your add-on or not... I don't know what to say and I'll try and look into this ingame.

Because I got friends which have read those books and they're pure pve-carabear I do think it's more a little gift of ZOS (I had few books fixed by minor patch like KIDNAPPING!) which helped you in fact.

Because I do agree that some people had read the books somewhere "a day", but I have a doubt that 3000 players missed the books since last DLC, or it is in a very special place (and even).

    From the PTS patch notes:
The following books can now be collected after completing the associated quest:
    A Smuggler’s Plan
    Black Snails Shipping Notice
    Freshly Penned Note
    Hamal’s Journal pages
    Honored Ancestors
    KIDNAPPING!
King Jolie’s Orders to General Mercedene
    Letter to Baloth Bloodtusk
    Letter to Savarak
    Page from Sun-in-Shadow’s Journal
    Shipyard Workers, Take Warning!
    Sun-in-Shadow’s To Do List
    Very Old Note

The following books can now be found and/or interacted with correctly:
    Captain Black Sword’s Journal
    Fires of Truth
    Letter to Exarch Braadoth
    Valyia’s Cargo Manifest

KIDNAPPING! still doesn't appear for me where it should.
Shipyard Workers, Take Warning! is the same as the above.
King Jolie’s Orders to General Mercedene can now be found in the final area of Honor's Rest but Letter to Baloth Bloodtusk and Letter to Savarak were no where to be found.
I searched all over Haven for A Smuggler’s Plan but couldn't find it either.

I'll try searching for them again after the next patch in case the fixes to all make their way in, unless someone else finds them.

Though not listed, Letter to an Aldarch is missing from its bugged post-quest location and Memo to Captain Siro is still completely bugged. Sent in another bug report on the latter. :/

There's other books that still miss the fix (in this first pts patch):
Mysteries and Clues > Pierced Note (available only during quest Family reunion [Balmora questline], Redoran Kinhouse Upper Suite ->location unavailable after quest)
Words of the Poets > Lord's Vivec Questions (available only during quest Divine Conundrum, no location after?)
--> location found inside andrano ancestral tomb.

Remember to check the SPREADSHEET for updates on books from the PTS.

@Ayantir All the alliance base books should be somewhere in that alliance's area behind the gate. The only ones I am not sure about are the EP ones, cause I am EP and haven't actually looked for those.

    No. Those books aren't there.
I've spent quite a bit of time recently (last week) checking this.

I have 6 characters, ALL DC.
They are all "full blown", CP 160 etc. One was created in 2014, 2 in 2015, 2 in 2016 and the last one in 2017 with Morrowind.

The 3 first of these chars have all these "alliance gates books" discovered. The last 3 don't.

I explored EVERYWHERE, and I mean EVERYWHERE last week between the AD/EP gates and the AD/EP bases : the books are NOT THERE.

    So either the books USED to be there at some stage and they're not any more ;
    OR ZOS validated them for us automatically at some stage and they don't do it anymore ;
or it's related to some kind of achievement - but I could not find anything consistent between any of my chars in that regard.

They absolutely used to be there, as I definitely remember finding one of them under a bridge. It's possible ZOS messed up somehow.

That's what I remember too : finding them under a bridge or something like that.
But I went back there last week, checked everything, and they're simply not there.

I have 2000 contributors, not a single user found those books excepted in the bases.

I do agree that those books can be somewhere else (in bookshelves per example), so I'll do something.

Could it be that they have been placed somewhere between gate and base for a short time, and your survey sender wasn't activated during that period of time ?

I need help. If you have a character copy on the PTS and are missing any of the following books please check if you can find them as it is possible they are only visible to you if you are missing the book as I do not need these and could not locate and the patch notes said fixed:

    A Smuggler's Plan
    KIDNAPPING!
    Letter to Baloth Bloodtusk
    Shipyard Workers, Take Warning!
    Snowmead's Missive

    Thanks!

Hmm, I will see if I can locate those books on the PTS on a Template character (as I can easily make one for each alliance and go snooping) I did have them marked on my map at one point but my Map Pins got reset:(

@Sounomi Just to clarify you actually need these books still?

KIDNAPPING! still doesn't appear for me where it should.

Letter to Savarak is right next to the Freshly Penned Note and Black Snails Shipping Notice in Tel Mora near Llayne Sadri.
Letter to an Aldarch is at 38.71x28.66 on the SW ruin portion of Torinaan, right near it is Brief Letter to an Aldarch and The Fires of Truth

No, as I said, I got pure pve carabear friends who never go in Cyrodiil and have them.

If you have them it's either a bookshelve somewhere or a fix made by ZOS (and not for everyone).

I would go more on a bookshelve. I agree that I never read bookshelves.

But the ZOS option is not to avoid, I had books fixed by them long time ago that which are still buggy for others (ex: KIDNAPPING and Shipyard Workers, Take Warning! have been fixed for me by ZOS in a minor patch, long time ago but are still buggy for a lot of people).

@Mix Saint, Saint Satakalaam is still bugged for me and not in patchnotes
Book have 2 locations during quest, but no post quest locations

I already have King Jolie’s Orders to General Mercedene but noticed its new post-quest spot. I have Letter to Savarak too but listing it because I figure it'd be in a spot close to the other two letters. The rest I'm lacking on at least one of my characters.

From that list, I'm missing Giant Warning since I didn't know it was in the intro area til it was too late and its still unknown if a post-quest location exists.

Also worth noting that Final Words and Healing Herbs of Northwest Tamriel are lacking locations in the Lore Books add-on.

That's strange tho seeing how I have all EP base books and I'm AD myself. I didn't have them until it was in the patch notes that they got a location in the scroll temple area and I'm 100% sure I then found em somewhere there. :| Sadly I cannot remember where exactly. Is it possible they have seperate spawns for each alliance? As in, for AD characters they spawn at the location but not for DC characters?

I highly doubt they would organize something as strange as having different spawn locations depending on alliance.
But I'm 100% sure ( I could say 1000% sure) that they are NOT present anywhere between gate and base as of now. I checked everywhere (and I do mean *everywhere*) with both a char that has already read them and a char that hasn't. No book anywhere.
I'm also 95% sure that they used to be somewhere. I remember finding them somewhere under a bridge and thinking "oh ! here they are...". But memory can trick us so yeah that's a 95%.

I started looking at achievements, to see if it could be somehow related. I have not found anything relevant yet. All I can say is :
    - It does NOT depend on whether we have saved Valaste or not
    - It does NOT depend on the achievement "all Cyrodiil delves cleared"
    - It does NOT depend on "all PVE quests in Cyrodiil done"
    - It does NOT depend on the fighters' guild's Cyrodiil bounty hunter passive.

I'll keep on looking for some kind of system here, but the best thing would be if ZOS could enlighten us... ? Not sure to tag here... @ZOS_GinaBruno ? @ZOS_JessicaFolsom ? Not sure they're not too busy to give some info to a handful of book completionists ;-)

By the way this thread seems to never bump in "recent"??

@Holger30 Lord Vivec's Questions has a post-quest location on the PTS (they just missed adding it in the patch notes)

The Alliance Base books, I KNOW they were there at some point! I went and got them.

Could you list exactly which books in the EP and AD bases that you are missing @Ayantir ? I brain-farted and went to DC snooping first and found 2 of the books at the South gate in the area around the scroll temple, them remembered I should be prioritizing EP and AD bases for snooping..

I found "Letter to Grand Warlord Zimmeron" but then realized it was also on lorebooks when I checked Live..lol. I found one we know exists!

I think I have seen Blessed, Blessed Satakalam on a bookshelf...it might add to the bookshelf list once you've done the quest. I will do some hunting and screenshot if I can find it as I could be misremembering.

I went back through a bunch of my stuff from ages ago and it looks like Update 12 added alternate locations for:

    Letter to Grand Warlord Dortene
    Letter to Grand Warlord Sorcalin
    Letter to Grand Warlord Zimmeron
    Respectful Greeting from Am-Shadal

Those were the only 4 "alliance base" books I was missing when that patch hit (I was super excited they fixed them). So there must be other locations for the other books found in the bases somewhere. Except for maybe the EP ones - since I am EP and can read them there.

@Ayantir If a book has a world location and occurs on a bookshelf how does the addon handle it?

Book in bookshelve is ignored, I agreee. I never checked if there was book with a static location in the bookshelve pool, because originally all bookshelves books were only on bookshelves.

If this rule has changed, I'll have some work to do. I'll do it at next API bump.
I'll also dig for my book (Blessed, Blessed Satakalaam) if someone had found it in a bookshelve.

But for Cyro books, on the 150 pins reported for those books, I only had the static locations, not a single bookshelve.

For the books I'm missing, it's 4 books in EP base and 5 in AD base (I'm DC). There is maybe some books in the DC base too which are unavailable for non DC characters. Maybe there is an EP or an AD with that issue hanging here?

For the list of books, I've screenshoted them and posted on this topic, page 26 or 27, don't remember. I'll reply when I'll be at home this evening.
