I imagine that Gryphon mounts would be flightless, with the reasoning that their wings are not strong enough to lift both their weight and the weight of their rider. But if ZOS adds wild ones, these could fly.

I HAD NO IDEA! @WhiteCoatSyndrome !!! Is it just the feather we have as proof that they exist? I don't care if it is! GRIFFONS!!! er... I'm spelling it wrong too. GRYPHONS!!!!! EEEKKK!!!!
Ok... I'm changing my request. Gryphon mount! I want a Gryphon mount. It doesn't need wings or maybe only one gender has wings like some insects.... I don't care. I just want a bird cat on which to ride! I'll name it Trico!
If they add Gryphons, I wish they would give them an Elder Scrolls twist ... you know, like Trolls having 3 eyes, or Mammoths having 4 tusks. I'm all for new additions to the Elder Scrolls bestiary, especially in previously unexplored regions.
As long as they are flightless, of course. Is there such a thing as a Penguin Gryphon?

ooh! Hey @Abeille what if the summon animation had the gryphon come down from the sky, hover slightly above the ground, flapping. When you hop on, the gryphon gets weighed down and flutters and rears like it's annoyed. When you get off it just jumps and flies away gleefully.

If the creators of the content are the creators of the franchise, I see no problem. Tolkien's lore for instance, whatever he created and wanted to be lore in the Middle-Earth universe will be so, as Lucas in Star Wars and Martin in A Song of Ice and Fire. As long it comes from the original creators its lore correct, end of matter.
I'm sure Todd has the final say but I know that Emil Pagliaro plays a part...I think ESO's loremaster has to consult with him on lore based ideas. He's the one who wrote Skyrims theme in the dragon language which is pretty impressive when you think about it as it makes sense in both dragon & english, rhymes and fits the music nicely.staracino_ESO wrote: »If the creators of the content are the creators of the franchise, I see no problem. This is an interesting point, and questions I would much like to know the answer to. "Who over at Bethesda/Zenimax is allowed to make new lore? Who has the final say? Is it one person, or a council, or is there no structure at all?"
I demand a diamond pony. I don't mean a sculpture, or a horse with a diamond patterned coat or anything. I mean a living horse that actually happens to be made of diamonds.
I ... I made some quick sketches.
The thought was that eagle-like gryphons are pretty mundane, so I tried to work with something more like a vulture.
If it is indeed mainly an Altmer mount, I wondered what kind of birds might be found in the Sumerset Isles. This one is not really serious, though.
Okay, maybe a bit.
PENGPHON
... I am so sorry.

I also believe it would be a good idea if it ate tel-var and defecated end-game weapons.

But I must say, the image I took of a Griffin and just cut the wings off feels very "elder scrolls-y" to me. I would be very happy with this being the TES Gryphon.

I would sell my own GRANDMOTHER into slavery for a "mount" that mimics a floating Lotus position.Whatzituyah wrote: »As for lore wise? Levitation who says it can't be a form of travel?

Young dragons don't exist in the Elder Scrolls @Clerics1985 . They manifested as they appear in Skyrim.
Now a dragon-like mount might be cool...
I guess that's pretty much a Wamasu...
