With the current game, you have those that, by "creative use of game mechanics", manage to be almost invincible and then there's us, the so-called "scrubs".
You have those that are blessed with a perfect internet connection and enough time on their hands to perfect their "animation cancelling skills" to maximize their damage output and again us "scrubs" that aren't.
No matter what you change in the game, it will always benefit the "elite" most.
The problem in this game may have been the mechanics at some point, but by now it is only the players themselves to blame.
We as a community have fostered an attitude of unsportsmanship that is by now inherent and irrevocable. You see that anytime you visit cyrodiil.
A few examples:
- a certain stamina templar that tied for win in a recent 1v1 tournament (Aldmeri) running together with a few blues (amongst them a certain dk o his stamina nightblade alt with a name very similar to the famous champignon mushroom) to get the red scroll, running peacefully alongside, just to "troll reds".
- a certain blue emperor on ebony blade EU who stands back and beams or sieges with close to 50 other elite small scalers beating on 6 reds trying to defend a keep at 1am monday night, just bcause they can.
- a certain yellow pro smallscale guild with a banana name taking the *** at the 7 reds that tried to recap at least one keep after blues managed to gatecamp only one of the gates (one has to be grateful for the small things) after they apparently failed to farm AP against the blues at ash.
Nothing I have written is against any rule and thus it is useless to complain about. It just shows the attitude of players in this game.
Now I am sure there are enough reds that do exactly the same, but I don't have examples because I only pvp on red side (for whatever reason I seem to be one of the very few that are actually true to their own decision).
The problem in this game are the players and only the players. It is sad to realize that. I hope you guys I named here see the point in what I have written, but most probably you will only reply "l2p" as usual.

The ESO community is not a dichotomy between elite and scrubs. Those are the extreme ends of the spectrum. Most of the people who play this game are neither one nor the other, rather somewhere in-between.
Why is "creative use of game mechanics" and "animation cancelling skills" in quotes? To me this suggests a negative connotation, that they are cover-ups for perfidious (and potentially illegal) game-play, exploitative, or unsportsmanlike in some way. Why are these quotes attached to elite players? Because only really good players cheat? Or because the only reason players are good is because they cheat? If we want to improve the overall attitude of the community and promote good sportsmanship, how about not insinuating that the best players in the game use less than honest tactics?
Only the players to blame and not the mechanics? Nothing frustrates me more in this game than snare/root spam. Nothing. I would rather play in zergiest of zerg battles with a skyrocket ping because even if at least my skills don't work, I can still actually move. Am I suppose to nicely ask the 93% of the AD faction who has opted for a stamina bow build and slots the bombard skill to please stop spamming it at me? Are they the ones to blame for using a highly efficient skill?
No. It is ZoS's responsibility to address frustrating mechanics such as this that cause normally rational human beings with emotions to curse, lose interest in the game - and its integrity - zergbomb anyone with a bow, and send nasty tells.
And since when is this particular game's community any different? I've played enough shooters, been in enough rec sports leagues, and seen how ego / competitiveness, even between friends or those who ostensibly should no better, bring out the worst in people. The sorts of incidents that are frustrating you have not just suddenly arisen in the Elder Scrolls Online.
You think multi-faction clowning around, Gate-camping, and zerging are recent? They have been here since Day 1. Those who were here from the beginning probably remember the time when you could use the Transitus system to spawn at the enemy's home base. Oh, boy was that fun. Group I ran with back in the day not only invaded the High Rock ganking players turning in their quests, but actually used Forward Camps to get a lot of AD in the DC base and even set up siege. I played on the first cycle of NA's Bloodthorn and am very familiar with the concept of gate-camping. And I've been meteor bombed enough times by hordes of enemy players on every faction that I just have to laugh at the idea that this behavior is somehow exclusive to a particular faction or subset of the community.
None of this denies your frustration. None of it excuses the poor sportsmanship you describe. But the ESO community is not comprised of elites & scrubs, ZoS must shoulder the lion's share of responsibility for the level of toxicity and frustration (seriously, when was the last time you've seen a gamemaster?), and every faction engages in the sorts of behaviors that have you frustrated.
How many of you actually see true cheaters on a regular basis? I saw one of those immortal Templars sit at zero health like...three months ago. I fought and killed Blinxey and Bishop while running around southwest of Ales once over the winter. And I think I saw someone using speed hacks to run around in PvE once a long, long time ago.
In over a year since coming back to the game, these 3 instances are the only times I have seen a player and thought 100% without a doubt "wow, that person is cheating and should be banned."
What else is going on that is so enraging to people?........

I see one person sitting at very low health maybe once a month. I don't think they are cheaters because I don't see them repeatedly. I think they are just a victim of an unwanted bug.

There is a bug on health bars that comes back every once in a while . For awhile I thought it was the old impulse one that reduced your health bar down and never allowed it to return to normal size . I got it stuck on me and my guildies were sayin they couldn't heal me and I'm telling them I don't see damage . I had to relog and sit in que to get back in to fix it .

Oh I see health bar desyncs everyday. They are mainly caused by heavy resto / lighting attacks, curses and weapon enchantment procs. What I was reffering to in my last post is when a player is totally invincible for several minutes sitting at 5% or less health with 10 players hitting him.

Too lazy and I don't really care. It's not really my job to catch these clowns-it's eso's job. A GM or two in Cyro and this shite wouldn't be happening. But my entire group (and you know who they are) will back me up on that account. We were actually laughing at them in ts when they died so easily only AFTER we threatened to report.

I don't record to catch people . I record to show the game masters if there's something I don't understand and possible a bug . I use to assume right away ... Hax ! Hax everywhere !
Then a friend came back to the game and started explaining this system is bugged and here's why . No that's not a hack but when combined with this skill creates this problem ect ect ...
Not saying they're aren't cheaters out there . There are . I'm just better at recognizing what's intentional and what's perhaps unintentionally happening now .
Makes my reports much more helpful now .

Yes, I'm sure your threat rattled them to their core. All I'm saying is, in my one year of ESO I've seen only 2 people who I thought were definitely cheating, in contrast to hundreds of examples of myself and people I know being accused of exploiting cus players couldn't grasp how a proxy bomb or animation cancelling works. And I would know if my friends were pulling Blinxey level stunts.
Besides, aren't you the guy who was just the other day complaining bout getting dog piled by 20 people, and now you're talking bout zerging down a non vet healer with 20 people. Inconsistent....

All is fair in war they say however when I see 3 elites players on my side (that I have admired) waiting outside a keep under attack at one of the tents and then a I get killed by an enemy (one of their buddies) as they just stand there, not so cool. Of course they all do there stupid insults. It makes me wonder what is really going on behind the curtains. I now have a whole new perspective on PvP and what trash it really is because of the players themselves.

Some players might follow some kind of code like - not attacking from stealth. Not interfering in a dueling scenario and the likes.
I don´t add 1v1 up to 4v4 fights regardless of who seems to be winning for example. I always assume those people are looking for enjoyable fights regardless of outcome. If i would jump in and kill someone that enjoyable fight just got destroyed and nobody had fun.
Players in general have either no respect or just generally don´t care about their enemies. That´s one of the reasons why pvp is unenjoyable currently.

I saw my Templar hit 0 HP repeatedly in one fight but I never died. I almost reported myself.

If I was in a fight trying to get back to my group after respawning and you passed me by and didn't help, that could lead to my first hate tell.
If I was looking for 1v1, I would play Mortal Combat.

You would want me to shut up for exposing your hypocrisy and zergbad mentality. Just cus you don't understand how something works doesn't mean others are cheating, nor does it justify zerging a lowby down with an organized group if you're truly opposed to that kind of gameplay. If you thought they were exploiting, should've reported em anyways and let ZOS work it out.
Edit: I'm hostile because you specifically called out my friend by name, who I know to be a good and honorable player. If you don't want opposition to your BS, keep it anonymous.
