I am very sure you can imagine what that stunt did to /zone and the very few players online at the time. What is fun for you, isn't necessarily fun for everyone else.

Your deed was kicking the dog that already was licking its wounds. If you're tagteamed all the time, it wears you down. That means even more reds on ebony switch sides or campaigns. We are thinking of doing it as well.

Player behaviour like this is what generates the DE or prootch reaction. Player behaviour like this is what generates buff campaigns. Player behaviour like this triggers stunts like nightcapping all map red by "exploiting" into inner keeps.

What do you gain if all that remains is some scrubs in one faction? How about instead of doing what you did, you relog on your red toon with a couple of your friends and help reds to get their feet back on the ground?

That would make much more sense than griefing a faction that by now is depleted of any good, organized guild.

Trust me, if I had a red toon I'd be playing there, being part of DC sucks big time nowadays.

Join me and @RinaldoGandolphi! Usually it's just 2dk's and my sorry-ass templar trying to take on more than we can chew (though we picked up a pocket healer!). Sometimes we help at defense and gank reinforcement lanes. But we keep it real; no drama except bombard-spama.

Indeed 5-6 is a sweet spot for groups i think. :)

There is small scale in cyrodiil. When was the last time you got zerged in chedynhall while doing dalies, or cropsford? Now what happens if you balance around zergvzerg and you have to fight 1v1?

I'll rant s little about folks that seem to think that Cyrodiil is a 1v1 or small group fighting arenas it's not, it's open warfare.

If you get zerged then be pissed off there is no small scale alternative (hint @ZOS hint) but stop hating on the players for it. Folks are trying to take keeps and landmarks, not deal with your 1v1 dueling you put right in the middle of an active war zone path. Get a clue and move you dueling to an unused PVE area.

On top of that unless you challenged my friends to a duel before hand stop with the salty tells when we double, triple, etc team you or your group. Sorry my support build made your plan to stealth away and that my debuffs reduced your armor and healing enough for a buddy to come up and finish the job. That's kind of the point though; working in a group that compliments each other and making sure a ganker isn't denying us reinforcements on the front lin.

Seriously, stop with the cry baby "talentless scrub" stuff as well. If you're playing with full gold gear, top level CP, and working with the meta damage build of the current patch, are you really that talented? Or are you crying because your over advantage still couldn't let you walk like an invincible god to AP farm for all the gold you spent?

As for the OP's post, the big issue I see there that I wish @ZOS would address is the meta faction farming for Emperorship and scroll delivering. Both ruin the meta for the game, but sadly I don't know what can be done. Maybe reduced AP gain for kills on the same account that excess an amount in an hour? Maybe something to vote return scrolls from folks on your faction? Not sure, but certainly annoying.

Someone needs a happy pill this morning.

I confess I regularly whisper EP who send 10-12 to dogpile me and teabag me. Admit it, that's shite gameplay. It means you're bad. Your team is bad if you have to resort to that. My group always calls out "one or two go take care of that one guy" or "ignore that one guy we have bigger objectives". We only dogpile on OBVIOUS cheaters, like last night when some AD were running around Roe lumbermill taking zero damage, losing zero health even with 20 V16's bombarding them in addition to a meatbag and lightening ballista on them.

Oh that's hardly even a rant compared to these forums, and hardly negative compared to the tells I've seen =).

But seriously it's war, if your on the front lines or at a choke point of a major battle, expect to be zerged, especially if the fight lasts a while. You want to claim someone is bad when a bunch of blood thirsty strangers they have no relation to run you over, you're pointing the finger the wrong way. It's both of you who are bad for not sealing the deal earlier and for positioning yourself in that area. The winner just benefitted more.

As for me, I run small 3 to 5 man around where I know enemies will be (normally the outskirts of zerg pushes). I know the risks, but I laugh every time someone gets upset at a group mate for closing the deal on a fight I started. If we wanted to duel you we would go to an area with no active objective around it.

What bothers me the most is the lack of manners and respect between opponents in Cyrodiil. Crazy the amount of players who rage whisper you after you killed them. Especially the elite players. I wish there was a way to set you offline for people out of your friendlist only. That would save me alot of bad feelings and stress I get from dealing with all those toxic players who do everything they can to trash talk in hope to get you frustrated and pissed off so they can have a good laugh about it.

I feel like PvP/WAR is controlled by a hand full of elite players conspiring together and taking advantage of others just so they can boost their own rank and egos.

All is fair in war they say however when I see 3 elites players on my side (that I have admired) waiting outside a keep under attack at one of the tents and then a I get killed by an enemy (one of their buddies) as they just stand there, not so cool. Of course they all do there stupid insults. It makes me wonder what is really going on behind the curtains. I now have a whole new perspective on PvP and what trash it really is because of the players themselves.

During my lunch time I was fighting near Sej 6vs6. A lvl 34 nightblade engaged me and got me near 30% hps. Then we disengaged each other and he whispered me later on saying "How does it feel to nearly die to a lvl 34 as an overlord?". I answered "Battle leveling is not working as intended in my opinion, lower levels are much harder to kill even if they don't have the gear. They get huge stats and sustain and still relatively good damage". He called me bad and asked me to 1v1 right away.

This is the kind of toxic players that I wish I could block right away if they are not in my friend list.

I'm not gonna give you the business here . We all were scrubs at one time . Many shared your opinion and some still do . It fostered a solo play society inside each faction . An evolution took place and 1vsX became a thing . If the few trusted team mates weren't on solo players became increasingly tough , attracting people to master this art .

After the first wars cooled down some of these tight groups United to make some alliances incredibly tough on their watch . We had some incredible campaigns a short while . Then the copy cat leaders with no training appeared . Forming massive pug groups and running them into the ground , unwilling to cooperate or compromise with those we elected as generals .

Alliances changed , players migrated more away from the infighting and multi factions became more prevalent . More dark times and the appearance of buff campaigns to level the migrating disgruntled masses ...

But enough history of Cyrodiil . This is a conclusion you've drawn . You're not the first and won't be the last . Finding those trusted loyal players that share your insight and believe in sportsmanship behavior and healthy competition is difficult and takes time . I hope you find who you're looking for .

Some interesting posts here, some less on topic, but all in all at least some decent discussion. I would hope for some of the more prominent players to check in and say their piece, but you can't win them all.

Where do we go from here? Could those selfsame "generals" start trying to help fixing the situation? Can we, as the players, start to act on griefing instead of going the "My bad deeds are justified by your bad deeds" route?

I am positively convinced that only the players are able to do that.

OH I'm not talking about choke points and huge battles where it's natural and expected to be zerged over if you're puggin out or distracted. 99% I die because I'm either afk, lookin at my phone, tabbed out or otherwise puggin out and either trying to get an idea how many enemies are around the other side of a gate or just rushing in like a troll. Yes, I do that.

I was referring to when my delicate little NB self is cloaked up and trying to avoid a Zerg and one spots me and they all (literally all 20+) come storm over me casting all their dps and then have the gall to harrumph and grunt and then either teabag or push ups on me.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Those are the *** I whisper and berate.

I send people money after they kill me.

Most of my 1v1 fights end in no tells at all or nice build discussions. I must be super bad :(.

I'm not talking about 1v1s. I'm talking about openworld play.

I have many avenues that I could take in this thread, but I am going to keep it short and sweet. I am guilty of t-bagging from time to time. But I mean can you really blame me? Members of the criminal organization Haxus, elves......

On the other hand I res every single DC corpse I see. Regardless of whether or not that soldier is true blue or a thinly painted blue hollow husk with a chewy yellow or red core on the inside.

There are so many more scrub nubs out there now who feel the need to whisper you after you kill them - usually with some sort of excuse or allegation of exploiting. I never used to get it from old school players who understood the game mechanics, but its always the random sergeant or alliance war veteran I've never seen before that it comes from. An example is - I finally gave in and went stam on my DK for the first time a couple of nights ago and was playing around on my own testing sheildbreaker and a bow when I killed this AD sorc who proceeds to rage tell me about how I was exploiting and that I was reported. I lol'd and told him to go right ahead.

Yes, this is the other side of it. Precisely the reason why I have asked my guildmates to not teabag others.

I really wish they would just make it so everyone could hear everyone in area Chat . That'd solve all the whispering and hate tells . It breaks my immersion too . If an enemy commander is yelling on a battle field why am I deaf to it ?

There is NO HONOR in the land itself. No honor in a sword. No honor at the tip of a snake's forked tongue as it whispers sweet nothings to the frog. Honor is only found within the person. That is why the despot Krotha and his men can attack a village, ransack a hospital where young khajiits, argonians, and orcs who have lost their parents to the war are, and take all their M&Ms.

That is why a soldier who once went by the name Darklord Tiberius (now a penitent man and going by the name Infinite Load Screen), under the command of the "Wild Wombat of the East" Zazebra set fire to that same hospital with baby orcs and kahjiits still in their cribs, argonians still in their eggs....

Abram Wrex, once a proud and revered soldier of the Blue Banner, pulled it off the flag post and urinated all over it....

The other side of the coin. Commander Frozn Yogurt of the Pact. He and his men took Chalman keep back in a siege that lasted three whole days and nights. Frozn Yogurt allowed the COVENANT soldiers to lay their arms down, surrender, and then march back towards Glade without further harm. Frozn Yogurt a father of five, the oldest being 14 years old. The youngest four. I was one of those soldiers allowed to walk back on my own two feet and not carried back in a box.

Leandor, light and dark are two sides of the coin, BUT the same coin nonetheless. Light cannot by definition exist without dark, and vice versa. Allow me to show you what I mean below.

Here is the HONORABLE Steve of VE sending the Dark Lord Sarenvog back into the black abyss! Pay close attention to the words Sarenvog left Steve with.

    Well, reroll

Thanks for being serious and honest on this topic, though. Leaps and bounds more adult behaviour than others that have replied here.

But stopping this discussion on one specific issue and go back to a more wider view of things, point in case: we as players have to change.

So socialism for video game performance now too?...... :disappointed:

I agree that players need to change. So change your victimized and entitled mindset, stop complaining, practice your mechanics, join or create a competitive group, and make a difference in the game.

If you have a poor connection, then you're out of luck. You will be at a natural disadvantage. You choose to play, though, so don't come in here demanding everyone with a better connection to be gimped because of your circumstances. You can always move or buy better internet.

If you're a "scrub" because of any reason other than physical or technical handicap, then embrace it as something to improve on, start taking improving seriously, and yes -- get good -- just like everyone else does. And yes, a "casual" player who works full time and has a family and kids etc can get good too. I know many excellent players who balance their lives with kicking ass in game.

If you are so delicate and easily offended that you can't take PvP competition, then either change your mindset and work on getting better -- just like all of your so-called "elites" did -- or get out of PvP. Every player starts from the bottom, and there's always someone better than us at something in PvP. That's the nature of the beast.

These others made a point that competition exists in real life. In real life, you don't get handouts and "safe spaces." In real life, you have to work to go places. It's the same in a competitive, skill-based game. Get used to it.

Of course, outright cheating would be a separate ordeal entirely. I haven't seen too much of that in a long time, though.

Just gonna say what's on every rational person's mind coming into this thread. :sleepy:
