Are sorcs too overpowered?

Let's be real, sorcs need a nerf like none other.

I play in azuras, because there is absolutely no lag, and I have maxed gear and usually do extremely well....except against sorcs, I am a nightblade and its just kinda stupid how there's almost no way to kill them.

I've seen sorcs solo engine guardian. This is ridiculous.

Please nerf the mines and shield stack, let me know what you think

Except I'm not joking. I've never felt powerful as a Sorcerer. But then I was probably playing wrong.

Convert your NB to stamina, then you can kill Sorcs whenever you want.

I dont have issues killing sorcs, at all, even the best of them, I use shieldbreaker. Shieldbreak gonna be fotm cause of hardened ward to every magicka class.

I am not too sure they're "OP" so much as they are the hands down best class. One button to keep myself alive and facetank damage, two or three buttons to deal great damage, and a toggle ult.

Yeah, they're seemingly powerful, but just put on shield breaker or get numbers. Problem solved. And INB4 "N0085 use SB" Cool, I'm a noob. Would you rather deal with the occasional "noob" or a massive nerf and remove the set?

Not on azuras star. I use shieldbreaker so if they cheese so do i. Makes for a good execute once they go into shieldspam mode when the health gets low.

I'm a sorc and I'll fully admit that a new player in the past 6 months stands ZERO chance of getting past my shield and doing any damage to me. Why?

Because normal players wear their pve gear, don't animation cancel, don't stack attacks, and generally don't put out enough damage to go through my shields. They don't CC, They don't attack my 9k stamina, and they don't use any of the tactics to get around them.

There are 3 ways to get around shields that are widely used.
1. Using shield breaker/unresistable enchants to burst right through to hp to put the sorc on the defense. (thus running the sorc out of magicka sooner and cutting his dps)
2. Stacking attacks and animation canceling to produce numbers that exceed the shield and take chunks of his health away.
3. Attacking his stamina, putting him in a long CC and chopping away.

You better learn this tactics one way or another because next patch everyone gets shields on top of their own damage mitigation techniques. Dk's will be the best shielders in the game, and these changes on top of poisons that increase the cost of shielding/casting attacks by 60%...etc will have far reaching effects.

sorcs will be so far away from the "best" class in the game it'll be just absolutely disgusting for pve, and pvp. If the Sorc class gets one more nerf that detrimentally affects my pet mage build then I am outta here for good.

I play as a Sorc because it is challenging and I also solo this game everywhere I go w/o exception. Add vampire to this build and every battle becomes touch and go.

I read somewhere this: "be a nightblade or be killed by one." I couldn't agree with that more, but where's the challenge?

Sorc's are traditionally pure spellcasters. That's what they do. They wear light armour, carry a wooden stick into battle and use their brains to outwit their foes.

The mage's bane is any archer in every game I played that allowed magic. In ESO they get to shoot at range, wear medium armour (arguably the best of the 3 types) & use stealth and secrecy at will.

The rest of you wear heavy armour, use sharp pointy weapons, block/shield and still get to cast 5 spells and an ultimate the same as a Sorc?

I play as a Sorc because I perceive this class as a challenging one and I do know how to play. I can adjust to game changing mechanics (in time) and I can adapt to game balances. What I cannot abide is stealth nerfs and other nerfs that interfere with a class that I have been super careful with to get right in relation to gear, crafting skills and a zillion other things that take a LOT of time to develop just so I can say: "Hey, I am proud to be a Sorc."

I've taken all the nerfs a Sorc can and one more will be the straw that breaks the camel's back. Enough with the Sorc nerfs already.

Oh for god's sakes... Another PvP thread complaining about Sorcerers to f**k the class even more for PvE.

Sorcs are not overpowered, they used to be, then they were rebalanced and were pretty decent, then everyone screamed NBs OP, then they were balanced, and then sorcs were stronger again, now come the new patch, Sorcs will be on par with the other classes.

Balance still isn't perfect, but the devs are doing the right thing and making the right changes to help sort things out so that we can at least get fair fights, despite some of the playerbase being babies about the changes, myself included back when they were balancing NBs.... Haha, but now I see the changes were for the better and now I see they are made with a bigger idea in mind.

Let's set aside, for the moment, the irony of a NB complaining about another class being too strong in PvP.

NBs are my sorc's easiest kills if their initial burst fails. So many of them just stack for burst that when their burst fails they basically have their pants around their ankles. On the other hand, DKs are for me the most difficult given their range of CC options. Not every class is going to fight every other class equally well. Seems fair to me.

@NativeJoe gave you the recipe for killing sorcs. There is a 4th option that will be even stronger in DB: stack your own shields. Of course, you'll have to give up damage to be able to stack stamina or magicka and regen to be able to make tough shields you can sustain, and incorporate those shields into your rotation instead of just doing damage. Enjoy your OP shields.

They don't have to give up too much. on pts I got killed by a NB from stealth while running around. as he passed my body I saw he had 15k shields up. it killed me inside.

I'm fairly certain after watching Lefty's top fights of the week and seeing every class perform , 99% of OP claims are L2P your class issues .

OP is probably a dual-wielding nightblade ganker that never learned how properly combat other classes.

Throw some CC and healing on your bars, force the sorc to run out of stamina, and lock him down. You're more likely to get things done that way than by coming on here and whining that your enemies are too powerful.

awesome mobility insane OP DPS. this class atm brings not only ego filled hate mail when a sorc dies but major imbalance and cyrodiil is very lop sided and in favor of NB and sorcerer.

Enough with nerf nonsense. Every class has strengths and weaknesses. And the same is true of players. Some players will excel with whatever class they play. Instead of asking for game changes, look at your own build and play style, and why you have trouble with them. I know I've been killed plenty of times by all other classes. I also kill the others. The difference is the build and skill of the other player, not problems with the classes.

shield breaker is a band aid fix.

relax... u get to be the best defensivly right now. next patch u get to keep that defense and stack shields. boneshield morph reflects 33% of physical damage back at the attacker, flappy wings keeps you safe from projectiles, your going to be able to heal yourself on demand while behind a shield. your the absolute kings of damage mitigation next patch. but yes... nerf sorc more <.<
