I dont know how anyone could play this on a console to be honest. I would at minimum need a keyboard. Id be fine with any changes to console as long as PC isnt changed.
    It's actually pretty easy.

    1) Pick up controller
    2) Push buttons.
    3) Game does stuff in reaction to #2.

    lol

    ;)

Even when I play on my PC account, I still use a controller. It's actually not anywhere near as bad (IMO) as people make it out to be.

How do you play without text chat and without, well, text? heh thats my confusion.

Well that's the frustrating part about it, especially seeing as the store interface is as poorly made as it is. Other than that it's great.

guild trader is one of the strongest point of ESO IMHO, i rarely MMO implement trading/auction such as this, its immersive and realistis
really remind me of Xian Online, which is also one of my favorite MMO back then

I still have my keyboard there if I need it.

But when using a controller, my Guildies and I use 3rd party chat programs to talk to one another.

On the Xbox; there's a multitude of different chat options built into the game. I can talk to everyone in a certain area by entering Public Chat, I can switch to and from Guild channels as I please, and there's separate chat channels created as soon as you form a Group, that only includes people in said group.

So, IMO; while I understand how some Gamers couldn't bear the idea (:P) of being without a text chat window, there's a multitude of other options that are as-easy/easier than utilizing the text chat window.

I know what you mean, but I've never played it on PC so it comes naturally. It was confusing at first, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly.

Exactly. You don't know what you are talking about.

ESO had to be dumbed down and simplified so a gamebox could handle the game. So, complaining that your game box can't keep up is not reasonable or logical. Play on PC or mac and your problems are solved. It's not an issue with Zenimax, it's an issue with your game box not being able to handle the full game.
^ Aside from an obtuse, unfounded hatred of consoles; this guy has zero idea what he's talking about.

The game handles identically on either my PC or my Xbox One. "Squishy game box" is a term used only by people in the process of being consumed by their own hatred.

Back in my day we didn't have these fancy vendors. If we wanted to sell something we stood in a tunnel and yelled out to the zone what we were selling and how much we wanted... ;)

There needs to be an OPEN market like every other MMO, not the smattering of guild stores with it's interface.

I love the guild trader system. I have however requested improvements to the searching interface for quite some time. If ZOS were to copy directly all the features of Awesome Guild Store into the game, I would have no further complaints about the trading system.

The only things I have to spend much time looking for are rare items. And, it should take time and effort to look for those. All Mundane items are sold by most kiosks for pretty much the same prices (at least on PC). So, everyday Mats and Ingredients and items are readily available. That last recipe I need to get all of them, it is going to take me a while, and it has taken me a while. I will enjoy it that much more once I do find it.

The prices differ a lot on consoles but that's the beauty of us not having addons.

Got a motif for 10k that surely was suppose to be 100k.
Or things like Ancient Silk 200 stack for 2-3k instead of ranges of 7-20k.

UI needs some work tho period.

I would like a global search, but then still have to travel to the store, as a quality of life improvement, but understand why many dislike the global thing, so...

    1) Remembering the last search parameters (until logging out),

    and

    2) Text search

    would be fabulous.

System is fine as it is. More competition.

Adding features like those in Awesome Guild Store would be great.

More small town shop feel. Less mega Walmart feel. Fits better with the overall atmosphere and environment of ESO.

Just chiming in to say that for those wondering, (I don't know about the PS4, but) there is no reason at all why they couldn't have addons for the Xbox version outside of the difficulty of getting Microsoft to allow it. After all, the Xbox One uses the same laptop APU that the PS4 uses, but uses a modified version of Windows 10 (it was Win8.1 at launch), so there really is no technical restriction - the machine uses off-the-shelf laptop PC parts and a common OS.

Based on the lack of a decent interface and no global auction house, I've always thought this was a feature they didn't have time to complete before PC launch. It felt like another thing they offset to the player base to manage, much like a proper UI and damage stats which required hard work from talented players to bring to the community via add-ons. Basic quality of life features that are MMORPG staples were left out of the game under the guise of "we want our game to be different" and instead passed off on the player base to carry across the finish line.

    +1

Some people think AH is the only way to go with MMOs but it's not. Other games have used guild traded type systems.

It's nice having a more social based trading system in the game.

I just don't know what is worse: guild trader/kiosks or crippling lag in PvP.

The benefit of the current system is that is discourages botting. Bot owners simply cant toss everything on one auction house and ruin the economy,. As it is now, its a pain in the ass to bot and make money that way I would imagine, managing various vendors, so they stay away..

I would like to see more centralized trader locations rather than obscure town to town guild merchants...... for example, pick 3 main trading hubs and split up all guild merchants in one of the 3.....

I'm happy with the Guild Trader system. It encourages people to work towards maintaining their guild traders. It also encourages people to look around for good deals. Sometimes some of the best deals are out in the far flung reaches of Tamriel.

yeah would be nice if they could have better interface for consoles and PC with gamepad absolutely can't argue with that. also though maybe Microsoft and Sony could don a better job of making their machines more mouse and keyboard friendly.

It is annoying and time consuming to look around for a specific item. It would be much more convenient to have a global Auction house. I would prefer a global one to a faction one personally.

    This isn't neverwinter.

    New Age MMO kids FTW!

In other news, I am developing my own MMO called Age of Entitlement. Game will include instant travel to anywhere, epic level gear available for everyone, easy auction houses so merchant players won't have content anymore, and anything else I can do to make things easier for you. Warlord Sanders has the throne by the way.

While your preference is fine and many may agree with you....there are many like me who enjoy not having everything instantly accessible.
A lot of this is what makes this game different than other games of this genre on server based networks with lots of players simultaneously interacting

Also....it may not even be logical becaus it's not WoW or Neverwinter DCUO, etc where there are diff servers of players. Literally there are two servers for all of us by platform so this request may not fulfill logic on the network side of possibilities.

Yes, get rid of them its dumb when you want to sell you HAVE to find a guild and pay them to make money (besides zone chat).

I just want to sell whenever I please with no penalty free. Thats how it was in Runescape with the Grand Exchange and it was awesome people were almost never broke because they allways could sell their items their

I don't want to pay sales tax when i buy food, the store doesn't want to charge it. They don't want to pay for their license to sell either i bet. Too bad.
