Healer Armor Set?

oburn
oburn
Hey guys, I'm curious what would be a good craftable set for healing Vet Pledges. I'm a DK, and I've been healing Vet Undaunted Pledges regularly, as it's easier to find a group as a healer and even as a DK I do pretty well at it as long as I'm in a good group that doesn't stand in red *** lol.

Right now, I'm using my PvP set, 5 light, 1 medium, 1 heavy, with all Impen and I'm thinking maybe I'd be even better if I craft a set for healing. I'm running 5 piece Kags Hope, and 3 piece Magnus. But like I said, all traits are Impen, prob would out better with a set of infused or divines. What what be a good heal set up?

    I am just starting my healer but it looks like from my research what you have or sub in the hope for phoenix.

    Those seem to be the best two sets with magnus as the 3 piece.

    Yeah I hear ya, I noticed the 5 piece bonus of Eyes of Mara reduces Resto Staff abilities by 12%, might be an option. I'm just wondering if the Impen Traits on my gear are hindering my a lot or not, if it's not then I'll stick with what I got, but being as Impen is PvP trait, I'm thinking it maybe hindering my healing a bit.

    Like I said I don't have much trouble healing with my set up, I've always had a heal char in every MMO I had, so I've always been a good healer, but I hate to see anyone die in my group, and being a DK healer for vet dungeons makes it a bit more challenging, so I'm just trying to figure out if I should make a separate set for healing.

    Julianos is a great all-around magicka set. Eye of Mara for the resto staff cost reduction. Kag's is a very good healing set as well, although you'd one to craft one with divines or divines/infused instead of Impen.

    If you feel like farming WGT, Spell Power Cure is probably the "best" set for a healer right now.

    I think most people wouldn't think of DKs as healers, but I ran with a DK healer the other night and he did really well.

    Yeah I just heal on my DK for Vet Pledges and do very well, but I've had a lot of experience as a healer from other MMO's in the past. DK healer is a challenge at times which I like.

    But as far as sets, I'm just trying to figure out the best one so I can have a set without Impen on it, Juliano's, Mara, Kags and Seducer are all good sets. Trying to figure out which would be the best one haha.

    As a healer, sustain is very important.

    Julianos is a fine DPS set, but I personally would not use it for healing.

    Similarly, Spell Power Cure, while providing great utility for healers, lacks sustain.

    An ideal setup would be 5p Spell Power Cure, 4p Trinimac (for the sustain that SPC does not offer), 1p Molag Kena, and a precise Maelstrom resto staff. But that's all dropped gear and a very hard setup to farm for (esp. the Trinimac jewelry).

    If using craftable gear, I would go 5p Kagrenac, and 3p Magnus or 3p Seducer... basically, exactly what you have right now. Except I would use infused/divines instead of impen. For a healer, the best Mundus stone would be the Atronach stone. Now, if you were a DPS using either the Thief or Shadow stone, then I'd go all-divines. But since the Atronach isn't as potent as Thief/Shadow, all-divines won't make that much sense--I'd go infused on large pieces, divines on small pieces.

    Which brings me to my next point: While impen isn't ideal for PvE healing, it's really not a huge loss in resources/sustain. Just keep your current gear setup as-is. There's really nothing wrong with it. Good healing is less about gear and more about skill. A healer in mediocre gear who strikes a good balance between sustained healing (Healing Springs), HoTs (Mutagen/Rapid), and burst healing (Breath/Healing Ward) and who provides resource support for the group (Elemental Drain, Siphon Spirit, Mystic Orbs, and, for Templars, Shards and Repentance) would make a far better healer than a healer in perfect gear who just spams Breath.

    Good Points, I'll stick with my gear for now thank you

    Use kagrenacs and seducer or Magnus. 2-3 piece torugs pact if you need to fill spaces works well too. Julianos is great but it lacks sustain. Impen is useless in pve

    Would any Monster 2 piece sets work in a heal build for vet dungeons? I have 2 piece Val Skoria, and 2 piece Nerien'eth's. Or should I just stick to crafted 5/3 piece set?

    None.

    Some suggest Engine Guardian, but I think it's a pretty bad set for healing: the only proc that's any use is magicka, so there's effectively only a 3.3% chance of getting a useful proc.

    Bogdan is ostensibly a healer helm, but the proc chance is too low and the effect too little that it's not worth losing two gear slots.

    But if you're looking at dropped gear, Trinimac is nice. Earlier, I suggested only 4p Trinimac. But for a DK healer, the full 5p could be nice. 3 jewelry pieces, and then two Trinimac armor slots instead of a two-piece monster set.

    I use 5 kags till I get the last few pieces of spell power cure, I like the engine guardian while healing because that stam proc will keep me alive sometimes either by blocking or roll dodging when needed, so don't consider the stam proc useless. I also like to run the wrothgarr food that gives max health and magic recovery giving me around 2k recovery on my resto bar so sustain isn't a big issue

    I'm running an Altmer Sorc healer...just pledges as Trial healing seems to be the domain of Templers. I use 5 pc Mara (4 armor & Rest Staff), 5 pc Trinimac (3 armor & 2 jewelry) and 3 Willpower (1 jewelry & dual wield off-bar). Armor has all max magicka glyphs, jewelry is all magicka recovery and weapons are all absorb magicka. Large armor pieces are Infused with small pcs having divine. The armor is 5 lght/ 1 med / 1 hvy. I run blue max health/magicka food and have tri-pot health/magicka/stamina available for emergencies. Mundus is Shadow (although that is for when I run as DPS - too much of a pain to swap out for when I run healing)

    Sustain is almost never an issue....I rarely drop below 50% magicka.

    My DK is still an infant (level 9 but high hopes for growth this week with the cake booster) so I've yet to run her as a healer, I've read that Trinimac goes well with DK healers as they have more skills available for proc'ing the 5th pc bonus.

    Are you v16?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Out of the craftable ones Julianos is the best. Twice-Born Star and Kagrenac's Hope are also viable.
    For a v16 healer the current meta is:
    5 Julianos/ Twice-Born Star/ Kagrenac's Hope
    1 Molag Kena
    2 Torugs
    3 Willpower jewelry
    5 light, 1 medium, 1 heavy armor pieces
    head, chest and legs with infused trait
    feet, hands, shoulder and waist with divine trait
    restoration staff/ destruction staff with precise trait
    0-10 attribute points into health, the rest into magicka
    The Theif mundus boon ....if you have many sustain issues, change it for The Atronach.
    As a DK healer you could actually try Trinimac 5 piece. It also comes with the jewelry, though getting it might be a bit of a pain. I know a totally wonderful DK healer - he specced for shields(100 points in Bastion and all) and pretty much shielded the group through anything without them even getting any damage while profitting from Trinimac set proc all the time ;) Obsidian shield spam and Barrier were in there.
    Not saying it's the best possible but it definitely is an interesting option for a DK healer.
    That aside, as been said, Julianos is a good one(if you don't suffer sustain issues at least; although if you do you could simply swap out jewelry enchants/Mundus for regeneration), as is Spellpower Cure(but farming it is a HUGE pain). 1 piece Kena also sounds good to me.
