Do you think that multiple rng rolls system is good for the game?

Because everyone likes polls... Well, perhaps some people dont, but they will still open the thread out of curiosity. :p
So, back to the point. As we all know, there are multiple levels of rng for getting certain gear, like IC dungeon drops, vMA weapons, monster shoulders. There's a chance to get an item from the loot table, then there's a chance for set, then there's a chance for piece, then there's a chance for the trait. +chance for the quality, if you count Orsinium dailies. Of course, armor can be upgraded, but jewelry can not.
I'm just curious what do you guys think about this system in general. I know, there is a lot of complaints about it, but not everyone on these forums makes posts.
Also would be nice to discuss the options to make current system more fair to everyone and less luck based. :)
And this is not about rng in general, by the way, just multiple layers of rng that make grinding more like a lottery. For example, farming Spell Power Cure set.

Yes, I think the drop system in the game is good, and I got the items I wanted (BoP sets, vMA weapons..)

    Tokens now!

And by that, I mean a real token system. Not like the crap token system we have in vWGT/vICP where the tokens just grant you yet another roll of the trollish RNG. The last 10 Ember/Shackle chests I opened in vWGT/vICP all contained trash that I deconned.

Some traits in some dropped sets could be better, but in general I have everything I need on my DD, healer and tank.

That said, I would prefer that endgame gear were mostly crafted, possibly requiring drops from endgame content. Get 10 (or 20, or 30... just an example) bones off the corpse of Kena and craft yourself a helm in whatever weight/trait combo you want.

I could live with that. Collect 1000 Daedric Embers, get a one-time-use Spell Power Cure blueprint, craft the divines SPC shoes that I want.

What I think would work nicely is something like this:

Let's say you are looking for Potent Nirncrux. Every time you farm an appropriate node, your chances improve, so at your first node you have 0.01% chance, for example. This will slowly raise with each harvested node, so by the time you pick your 100th appropriate node, your chance of finding Nirncrux is 1%. Once you get it, percentage resets. I think this would nicely reward time spend and would not feel so much like a time waster, going on an item hunt. I spend hours looking for a certain item, only to end up empty handed and wishing I spend my time elsewhere (in game, or out). If I knew that my 3 hours of farming is improving my chance of getting what I'm looking for, it would feel like time well spend.

That might work for nirncrux, but not that well for gear. I've gotten many pairs of Imperium sabatons in ideal traits. Which is good, because it's a very good set and my DK tanks in Imperium. But I also don't need 4+ pairs of sabatons of Imperium. What I want is a pair of divines SPC shoes so that I will finally have the perfect 5-divines SPC set (not that my current infused shoes are bad--I'm just a wee bit obsessive-compulsive). Similarly, I have something like 3 SPC chestpieces in divines. I'm sure that, for most people, a divines SPC chestpiece drop would be great--but for me, it's decon fodder.

A reward system that you describe works well when the choice is between reward vs. no reward. But when there's a choice of rewards, and people are getting good rewards--just not the one that they want--then what you describe would not address the issue.

Their current loot system is terrible.. you can run hundreds of times and still not get the combination that you would like. On top of that, after all of those runs..do you have anything to show for your effort? No, you have not progressed toward getting the item that you want, you are just hoping with each run that it will drop because your odds are the exact same as the first time you ran that particular instance.

Here is an image I took earlier showing one my alts that stores every useless/duplicate maelstrom weapon that I get.

    iRYQTIq.jpg

and yet with all of these weapons.. I still don't have the one that I actually need (sharpened inferno). Also, it doesn't include all of the useless set items I have gotten from the final vMA chest.

I think RNG was needed at the launch as there was nothing to do, but after Housing I think we have enough endgame. CP-system, Gears, LeaderBoards, Housing, and if they give purpose to do Achievement thats should be more than enough endgame for this game for years to come. This is how I see this..

Gears are just pure fun to play with.
    CP-system is short term progression.
Housing and maybe Achievements are long term progression
LeaderBoards maybe Achievements are for Elite players.
Then theres of course Alt-making for those, who simply cant get enough ESO.

That should be enough for this game forever basically, thats very solid endgame structure. They just need to get it right.

closest option i could find. i got what i wanted (mostly) btu RNG is terribad

Not all RNG is done the same across the game. IC sets and trophies were great,
could collect them and get gear, there was some RNG but it was BOE. The problem was it flooded the market as there was nothing else being sold or grinded for. The sets were even better you earned a set you could buy with hard earned stones. but it wasnt optimal gear it was only one trait. so to get it optimal you had to use the RNG bag, but least the bag was divided into sets, rng was there but minimised. and you were not left high and dry if you had bad RNG as you could complete the set using sub optimal gear till you got lucky.
The RNG of WGT and ICP on the other hand was diabolical.
5 or 6 sets? no jewlery so you have to get 5/7 pieces, and if you want to run a monster set you need to get 5/5 pieces. Terrible drop rate, and pure RNG as to whether you got anything at all let alone a piece from the set you wanted. and with no other slot options the RNG stacking was terrible. You earned ember/shackles and could open a chest, this would have been great. but the chests were RNG too, its two items from the multiple sets. its a lucky dip from a 35-42 item container. why not separate chests for the separate sets? And even if you get your itemand the set, the trait is RNG too.
and then RNG got even worse in wrothgar.
BOP + RNG stacked with more RNG. putting the most desired healing/tanking/stam dps sets from wrothgar behind a grind wall that was time based (daily) for the most part + RNG on quality/level/trait/set and no trading or selling.

    Yeah :(
They've supposedly increased drop rate in one of patches, but it wasnt really noticeable.

I have had similar discussions. Another thought I had along similar lines would be that when you decon set pieces like SPC, it gives a small chance to drop a mat that allows you to make a piece of that set however you see fit. Therefore, if you are like me and have 25 unused pieces of SPC in your bank and still dont have the pieces/traits you want, you could decon them and craft what you want.

End of the day, I am up for any kind of chagne. It seems clear that they dont want a token system. Fine, make these set pieces tradeable with one another and the problem is solved..

Yeah, either way we need some kind of improvement I think.
It can be an option to trade pieces of the same set (or just IC sets) and vMA weapons, or getting crafting materials from bosses (which is very interesting imo), or just more reliable drop chances...
