So really, what is everyone's problem. Also please keep everything calm and relaxed no shouting or anger about nerfs, talk about them constructively :)

It appears, to me, to be almost entirely PvP related. I pretty much play PvE exclusively and have had no major problems with anything. No lag. No problems with powersets. No problems with "balance" issues. No problems with teaming with other players. Sure, there are occasional buggy missions, but to me it's mostly trivial stuff.

well do me a favor, ask any mob how they feel when they see a player comming around, and it doesent matter wich class - any statement of a mob regarding his feelings about balance and we can sit together with pveers and talk about balance.

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say here.

Are you trying to say that there are no "balance" issues in PvE because the NPC mobs can't complain about "balance?"

Why are people upset? Because this Dev team has prove time and time again that they are not skilled enough to balance this game in a way that is enjoyable by all.

Don't tell players that you have choices on skills, when a good 40 percent of the skills and yes I am being nice with that number. A good chunk of them are weak and worthless. (Lmao Leeching Strikes.). And now players got to wait even longer in hopes for more play style and balance changes.

We have magic sorcs being tanks and dps.
We have stam sorcs just wishing they had a bone.
We have Templars who has an house gameplay style that might as well have a sign that says come in and pillage my tail bone.
We have stam builds just spamming wrecking blow.
We have stam build for NB that is getting nerfed with ML changes, and cloak changes.
We have DK...well I know some of them are really happy.

Point is...How long must we wait for decent changes? How long must we wait before we get the options that was promise instead of classes pretty much doing the same things?

Most players understand that perfect balance will not happen, but FFS the gap is crazy on many of the skills. And NO nerfing them down to all be worthless is not the answer. We want OPTIONS and play style choices.

Yet with ML buff they took away one.

In other words. Balance and Options are making us all play the same way. It is boring. Why have so many weak skills? What is the point of not needing to manage resources?

Games are suppose to get better as more and more feedback is giving. This dev team is proving that wrong.

    For a few reasons.

Mostly because people were under the impression that this was going to be they addressed balance and improve the stale meta that sees people stacking spell/weapon damage and a single attribute yet still having unlimited resources. It's been a year since the last balance update.

Is there anything in this patch that is getting you genuinely excited to try anything new? I play all four classes and I am going to run the exact same builds with the same skills. The only thing I will do differently is gear (I will admit there are some PvP sets I'd like to try). I guess a magicka DK can be a bit excited that spec won't be as bad in Cyrodiil, but even then how they play isn't all that different.

Every class has noticeable nerfs and again, not enough new toys to alleviate the frustrations of those nerfs. I hate the insta-stealth on demand in this game and even I think ZoS went overboard on the cloak changes. If you a templar, your best three defensive skills are all worse in the next patch and that class was struggling as it was. If you are sorc ... nothing new unless you like pets. DKs didn't get a huge nerf but not being able to reflect meteors and losing the clumsy execute they did have does take away some of the class's distinctiveness.

Finally so many things in this game have been bad for so long there's no excuse for leaving it be. Heavy armor isn't exactly some strange thing that few people care about. Yet is has been allowed to languish for over a year. That's not cool.

I like the gameplay and most of the content in ESO, but the meta is so stale.
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

So true. How anyone can say ZOS/Wrobel is doing a fine job when they've left heavy armor out to dry for a year is beyond me. Seriously, they couldn't have tried to raise some of the resource return on the Heavy Armor passives, just to see if that might help? Raising a laughable return to something significant would essentially have involved changing a few values on a spreadsheet. That was just too much for anyone to try?

Oh man, i feel like i can write a book on why.. but i will try to just bullet points without expanding into details.

    PvE:
    - Where's the group content? same dungeons and trials since the beginning. Never updated and never scaled. You might argue there is new stuff but honestly it's all behind a paywall.
    - Where the gear diversity? back when v12 was cap people actually ran builds man... today there is a BIS for mag and stam and everyone is running it.
    - Intelligent mechanics and role importance... 3dps and 1 healer is all you need to win now and it's all about that burn baby... And the mechanics between dungeons are all the same.
    - Economie is dead, trait RNG *** and BoP ***.

PvP: there is even less to say here because it is always being said on the forums. but basically
    - Cyrodil lag, it's F*CKEN terrible.. The game is unacceptably responsive.
    - Glaring pvp exploits, like spambush, perma invis NB's,
    - glaring balance issues, over healing, Aoe Caps and ball groups.
    - no content, cyrodil since day one and still cyrodil. IC is unfinished garbage.

There are many small QoL things that have been plaguing this game since launch, Class balance is an ongoing thing but it's not so much these things that are killing the game. It's the CORE fundamental issues with the game like the stuff i said above.

*whistles* Boy, there sure are a lot of professional software developers and programmers in this thread who seem to think they know more about MMO coding than, well, ZeniMax itself does.

Apply for a job with them, if you're that good.

All that said, my toons, which are magicka-based, have been nerved, buffed, nerfed again and buffed again so many times that I take any new changes with a simple shrug and the thought, "Well, let's see how this works out."

That approach is a good way to avoid the anger and stress that accompanies the anger.

Well, that and a good cup of hot cocoa and a book. B)

In fact, the main problem is pvp. And the name of the game. Me and others are saying that since beta in the old forum. This is a TES game or pretends to be,so the game should have been more pve focused and with more rp on it. Pvp will always ruin all, cause you have to deal with madness.

TES is too much of a beast to deal being an mmo. They make money, but will never get respect. People wants TES single player games from Bethesda and while they wait for TESVI they try to find something similar here,me included.

I like this cool and original argument against people who have legitimate complaints where you have no real argument against what they say so you attack some perceived lack of knowledge and skill. Is there a name for this fabulous type of argument or debate? I want to learn more about how to win an argument without actually addressing the points and calling other people's character into question.

I think a lot of people came into the game with their own expectations of what an online ES game should be. Additionally there are certain things you expect from an online RPG also.

Things seemed a little sparse at the start compared to what we are used to in a single player ES game. An MMO is always like that at the start - housing etc usually follows in about a year.

Problem with this game was that the first year was spent making massive changes to gameplay and balance and things and also getting the console launch sorted. The new content and systems and things are starting to flow now but in the life cycle of an MMO we would usually expect to be ahead of where we are now.

There are also several distinct groups of players all of whom want different things in the game - role players want emotes, costumes, housing, events and mostly single player content. End gamers want raids, group dungeons and more group content and PvP players want more PvP content. In trying to balance all that you are never going to keep every group of players happy with every update.

There have also been things mentioned in the past that never came to pass - spellcrafting for one. People get their hopes up and then get rightly ticked off when something they were looking forward to ends up going in the bin.

There is also the big old elephant in the room - performance. Big. Ole. Slow. Laggy. Elephant.

I think people just have such high expectations for this game and that's why they get angry and frustrated. We see all the amazing potential this game has and maybe sometimes the pace of change seems (unrealistically) too slow.

There's a big difference between high expectations and broken promises/constant let downs.

I don't disagree with you though - I do see the amazing potential this game offers, and it's the reason I stuck around for so long. This is why people get angry, because they want it to succeed.
People are always going to moan however. It's the MMO gamers nature.

Yeah, I understand your frustration now.

I think they should stop cranking out the DLC's left right and centre and maybe just take some time to go through the game and just do everything, test everything and see where the problems lie.

Because a developer spamming an AOE Dot or Hard Casting Frags shows their lack of knowledge about their game.

They need a number of on going official polls and discussions about class changes and what really needs to be focused, bugs and balanced wise.
