It looks even better than before, @Waffennacht. Definite thumbs up.

I'm not yet sold on Streak due to its kinda lowish damage (I'm only 65 CP, but it does as much as two ticks of Liquid Lightning) coupled with normal PvE being usually easy, but I'll give it another go since I can see how the moving and stunning would help against harder foes.
I find juggling three bars a bit too much for my sanity (or patience) especially as I find I keep getting stuck in Overload instead of swapping back to the normal bar after casting Power Surge. I guess I should make an effort in that too.

I'm finally CP 65 as I mentioned, so only another 95 until I can get to farming Trinimac! At least I as told it would not drop at all until I was in that CP range to begin with.

You were mentioning alternatives for Proxy. What of Rearming Trap? In DB the damage is decent-ish (http://imgur.com/JjTHvuX and hits twice with the Rearming morph), another DoT for Skoria, and it gives a 12% crit damage buff for 12 seconds (Rearming morph again). It sins by forcing us to be almost in melee to use it though and is single target.

Maybe Boundless Storm then, @Waffennacht. It's not a *big* AoE DoT (at my level Liquid Lightning does 1367 per second while Boundless storm does 365), but it also grants major resistance to physical and spells which helps to survive since you're doing dangerous activities, and it also has that long-ish duration to spare on constant reapplying and it gives 30% run speed for positioning.

@Waffennacht, curiosity has me asking. How is your agro handling? I ask this after doing a dungeon with guildies and we were three DDs and myself as a healer. While the scamp grabs agro like a pro in the open world (seriously, it has zero to do with the damage it does since I outshine it brutally so it must be coded in) when in the dungeon the boss and pretty much all mobs ignored it to chase everyone. The boss in particular chased me until I ran out of mana while ignoring the pet for the entire time.

Does it only grab agro if we are soloing something?

Wow, @Waffennacht , I stumbled across your build when researching if Trinimac's procs on summons. This build looks terrific for Maelstrom Arena! I haven't tried it yet, and I think I will try to replicate most of your build for my first go around.

One question I wanted to ask. Now that the duration of the Sorcerer's Conjured Ward shield has been reduced, would you recommend Hardened (absorbs 33% more damage, 6 sec duration) or Empowered (reduced cost, 10 sec, and minor intellect), specifically for a VMA attempt?

Thanks! I somehow missed reading the part where you talked about Hardened Ward on my first read through, but I see it now. This build gives me hope for Maelstrom. I had been considering Trinimac's but after reading what you had to say about using and getting it to proc, I'm completely locked in. Then your insight on using Valkyn Skoria with Lightning staff really put it over the top.

I just found ur thread and I have to say awesome idea! Since I try to be a viable endgame healer do u think that using this kinda build could be a viable option? I might end up using Resto / Resto instead but since I'm doing team content it shud be okay anyways.

Right now I'm testing this setup: double Resto

Bar 1:

Ward (not sure about the morph yet) / Mutagen / Matriarch / Familiar / Illustrious Heal / Absorbtion Globe (simply 2 awesome as a healer ult)

Bar 2:

Power Surge (Flex Slot) / Siphon Spirit / Matriarch / Familiar / Combat Prayer / Greater Storm Atronarch (for bosses for extra DPS and another ward target)

I lack the gear though, I'm only lvl 48 now ^^. I know that dedicated standard healers are more common but since I wanna use a sorc advantage (like summons and doing DMG while healing and buffing) I still could imagine that having a sorc heal is not this bad overall. Fam brings in good ccs which also helps the tanks and with ur set I can dish out some good heals as well.

Only things that bug me right now: Pet health bars. I hate turning on ALL NPC health bars.
Some pet / dmg mechanics overall (with energized and disintigrate).

Overall I guess its not that bad as a build. Even as main heal.
If u break down the heal / support class u see different builds but most of the time u see the same 5 aspects.

Healing, Supporting (by buffing and debuffing), resource manipulation (magicka and stam heals), CCing and dealing minor DPS.

You could swap some skills but matriarch and familar on their own cover 3 of those aspects. With Combat Prayer + Mutagen I get some good buffing tools, with Siphon I get magicka heals + boss debuff. In theory this looks good. It comes down to pet management I guess. I dont have any big troubles managing my pets but I still miss those health bars

I tested some random normals and did my silver pledge and well its awesome so far. I dont know exactly how hard endgame will be (since I started 3 weeks ago) but I cant imagine that this build isnt going to be hella strong. its hard to play and to manage but if u can control ur pets properly its awesome and its fun. It feels rewarding spamming heals and buff and still doing consistent dmg via pets and later on with the set item. My tank was happy that familiar stunned trash 24/7 in some scenarios and I (and especially Matriarch!!!!) were more tankish overall thx to ward. I'm still not too happy with Power Surge but I guess its not bad overall. Could imagine another utility spell like Mystic Orb but since Magicka Issues shud only occur on tougher enemies and bosses Siphon Spirit shud be enough.

Finally I am 50 I did a minor change so far kicking surge for Dark Exchange for the spell crit group buff. I also use Empowered ward since I spam it anyways and it gives magicka regen for the party which is nice to have. I feel confident with this setup so far now its time to farm those sets ^^

I got sidetracked, leaving my sorc at 45 for a time. I guess the build is old and gimmicky now.....did it ever help you through vet maelstrom? I finished leveling up in normal maelstrom it the pets performed admirably. I have all the Trinimac pieces mixed with elegance set now. It's not very good though. I only have like 1300 spell power? Wtf

Looking good, although I do have a suggestion.

If the Lightning staff isn't essiential to your build, I'd swap it for an inferno as the weaving is easier. Then I'd swap Infernal Guardian for ilambris (I believe that's BiS for sorcs?)

Then because you'd be using an inferno you'd have blockade of fire, that with liquid lightning can both proc the different elemental meteor showers, I believe they can be proc'd at the same time too?

@Waffennacht Nice to see an update to your build. I know you're on xbox so you don't have access to detailed combat logs, which is too bad because it would be nice to know what dps you are pulling in aoe and single target fights. I will tell you I've been spending a lot of time theory crafting lately and I'm convinced that Necropotence is the strongest set in the game under Infallible Aether for Magicka Sorcs. If you're already running the Familiar, I really think you ought to consider it. It's not super hard to farm now. Also, the power of Inner Light and Bound Aegis should not be underestimated. I am regularly hitting between 50-60k dps on AOE trash pulls and 20-25k dps in solo single target fights. The rotation I run is also incredibly simple, so like yours is pretty forgiving. It also has the benefit of being infinitely sustainable. You sit between 80-100% magicka the whole time.

2 Ilambris, 5 Necropotence, 3 Willpower, random sharpened lightning staff (plan to replace this and the Willpower for Infallible Aether when I get the pieces), Maelstrom Fire destro for the WoE buff.

Use Empowered Ward whenever you or your pet are taking health damage.
Liquid Lightning > Blockade of Fire > Familiar Damage Pulse > 2-3 Lightning Heavy Attacks
Repeat the above rotation.
You can switch the heavy attacks for 5 or 6 Overload light attacks to burn ult. After ult is down to 216, stop using Overload and instead use Elemental Rage every time it is up.
You can switch to the Overload bar in execute range to use Mage's Wrath, keeping dots up too.
