I'm a complete newcomer to ESO and after some looking around I liked how you put your build together and I'm trying to follow it. Unfortunately being a complete newbie (playing ESO for two days as I post this) I'm not familiar with all the ins and outs yet. I don't know what passives you picked or in what did you put your points regarding armor and etc.

Zuuda✭Still 41 but slowly getting there. Currently leveling the pre-Streak skill and ditched the Twilight to replace the Unstable Familiar for the lil dino. I was doing fine with a diet of Blockade, Liquid Lightning and Boundless Storm for damage, but I notice i am starting to whittle mobs with that setup. I hope once I have Streak's damage it will hurry things a bit, but the damage seems low (1.3k at my current level).
@Waffennacht I tried asking around how to obtain Trinimac's set but received conflicting answers. Could you tell me what was your diet to obtain the set? ✭Alright, I will start by saying I love the pets and I wish they were viable, but honestly I don't see how a build such as this will ever work for end game content simply because the pets don't scale with champion points. Their damage is only affected by the amount of Magicka that you have and nothing else, so while other spells become stronger the more CPs you invest, the pets damage will barely change at all...
It is a pity, but pets simply don't have the DPS to be useful, even if they now are able to survive fights a little more easily.0 -

Well first off, the Pets' standard attack does not scale with CP
BUT THEIR ABILITIES DO
So The familiar's AoE DoT scales with Thaumaturge and Elemental expert. Matriarch's Heals scale with Blessed.
Second, have you seen Thelon's videos? He solos vet dungeons all day long. As soon as I have the time to devote to it, I'll post my Vet dungeon solo runs.
I wish you had posted more as to why you believe it wont work (that way I could inform you)
You do realize Trinimac's Valor triggers with Pet shields giving a long term 1100 dps and hps AoE? (Yay!)
So... it has already soloed vet dungeons (end game) and vMA....

Ah, alright. I don't actually consider the veteran dungeons as true end game content as you can go through them with rather low DPS, but I do agree pet builds such as this can get you through VMA, even if not likely with a very competitive placing (again because of low DPS output).
As I said, I actually like the pets and I really wish Zenimax stopped creating problems for pet builds, alas, that they won't allow the pet attacks to benefit from CPs shows a dreadful tendency and makes the Tormentor, the main single target DPS pet completely useless as its active ability is all about strengthening its base damage.
I don't know, I feel pets are slowly going the right direction, unfortunately it feels like they are crawling there very very slowly. I feel quite despondent about sorcerers as a class in general. As for Raiding, you know this build would never get you through VMol, for example. You won't achieve the bare minimum 30-35k DPS with the pets.0 -

I have a redguard steam sorc that I'm just 'meh' with. with no racial to magica, is it viable to do a similar build? Was even thinking about using S&B on one bar for debuffs & knockdowns, but put all attributes into magica... Kinda like i'm tank for the pets. I used to tank with this char yonks ago, kept an overload bar for when DPS was more needed than tanking, and I kept shield charge on my 3rd bar, reason being I found it much faster to switch me back into s&b if needed, simply by hitting that skill I dropped overload and went straight to target. The shield charge perhaps has a minor edge in being exact with priority targets, applying a knockdown then getting debuffs on.

Am gonna give it some thoughts, one idea I was toying with was syvarras scales' can't remember if its disease or poison it procs, but the damage from pets proccing could make up for low magic a, ditto skoria. Maw of infernal does scale from mighty tho iirc...

Did a few dailies, got necklace, farmed 30 chests, for a few other pieces, all in wrothgar0 -

@MuddledMuppet I hate you soooooooooooooo much. I have done... oh... 8 this week in dailies, spent an hour in IC opening chests.
I got a couple of v16 Robust Briarheart necklaces, a few Briar heart rings. I have x2 complete sets of Pariah jewelry and all, x3 sets of v16 Briarheart sets jewelry included...
I ONLY have 2 pieces of v16 Trinimac infused/divines... I DO have x2 v16 Trinimac rings, robust and health, and x2 v15 arcane rings, a complete set of v15 Trinimac armor in Divines/infused.
But no necklace . I did spend about two weeks straight opening Wrothgar chests and dailies. Another week in IC opening chests (I have now memorized every chest location in Nobles district)
No necklace in any level or any trait...

I think I'll complete the set torrow, then video me deconstructing it...
BTW at risk of teaching to suck eggs, are you farming with a char with treasure hunter? Also, one was from a wrothgar treasure map if that helps0 -
MuddledMuppet✭✭✭✭@Waffennacht lmao! I decided to veer off the pet for my redguard, keeping him as steam, with syvarras scales and affliction if tanking, or briar heart if DPS, together with skoria it's going quite nicely. Need one more briargeart, but guess what... I kept getting trinnimac
Glad you are at least getting more set items, hopefully we both get sorted for what we need tomorrow
