I think some sort of conjuration class would be nice... I loved the bound weapons in other TES games. It would be really fun to be able conjure different weapons and be able to use them effectively whether you are magicka or stamina!

i'd rather they fix all the skills in the game that are barely useful/broken.

besides that. i'd rather see new SKILL lines than new classes, since everyone can access a class, but looking at the char creater they defo intended a minimum of 6 classes at least :(
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_RichLambert , can someone tell us if ZOS is actually actively and currently considering adding a new class to ESO? If you guys are, I implore you to please consider the Class Morph concept posted by @TheShadowScout here: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/240186/class-morph-idea/p1

We don't even need all the class morphs at once. They could be released in sets of four, one morph for each class.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

While I'm all for creative ideas, ZOS has already stated that they are not adding new skill lines any time soon (#NoETA) as having additional skills would just cause more server load and make performance even worse. This was clearly stated during the last ESO Live when asked about the addition of new skills lines with either the Thieves Guild or the Dark Brotherhood.

Let's be honest, ZOS cannot even handle the existing 4 classes and keep the skills relatively useful and balanced, so what makes you think a 5th class will somehow improve things. Besdes, I'd much rather have a 4th skill tree for each existing class, or a neutral Necromancy skill tree where you make a deal with a Daedric Prince for special powers like a Vampire or Werewolf.

I don't think it would cause more server load, people spamming abitiles would cause that. They could add a cool down to some spamable aoes, and put in limit in the amount of aoes, are active at once in a certain area. If three people, use batswarm or other aoes, then no one else can til its done and over with.

A new class would certainly bring new life to the game but I feel they should release that as long as they fix class skills and balance the current ones.

Well, it would be a much better thing if all the morphs were released at once, to give people the sense of choice that was the basic premise for my idea.
Otherwise they might feel railroaded into choosing that one released morph, and then vexed when a "better one" was released later... and the other premise was to especially avoid people who might feel vexed if a new class was added they could not use due to already having maxed their characters, or even with new character slots to buy, because of that "Awww, this new class would have been sooooo much better for that character then the one I picked back then" feeling.
Thus the very idea of "class morphs" that could be done as one skill line tacked onto existing classes to bring new options for -everyone- regardless of them starting a new character or upgrading existing ones.

They said there is no new activ abilities in the next 2 DLCs, ( i think late 2016 will come new skills, hopefully) so why should they make a whole new class?!

    Balance first pls :)

Sounds great, polish their endgame and start adding classes and weapon skill trees, I personally think they should at least double the both of them, that should put the game into new heights, no doubt.

This sounds like a nasty weak class. Trying to make the magicka DKs and stam templars feel better now are you?
    That was not my intention.
I will say this however: it would be the only class that would rely heavily on pets for damage.

The plans I have for the skills of this class... I would not call them weak, not even close.

It would be the best support/healing class. Or it could go necromancy for damage. But not both.

I'm of the opinion that new skill lines (like necromancy, beast taming, etc) would be better for the game than new classes.
I they added yet another skill line for Necromancy, then that skill line would push even more current class skills into the depths of "forgotten pits of unusable skills".
My whole idea behind this class did not come out of a will to see a new class in the game. I am pretty much content with the current 4 class trinity meta. But if they ever consider adding Necromancy into the game, I think it should not be available to every player. Ergo class - NOT skill line.

Read the article... it has as much merit as a forum post of ours... this is nothing more than ZOS engaging the community. This is in no way an indication they are working on a new class.
I have read it, it was the whole reason I made this post.

I am sorry if I misled you into thinking that ZOS actually said anything about a new class.
Knowing them, adding new classes would be very low on their priority list (which it should be, there are other, more pressing matters).

Don't wanna dash anyones hopes, but this is probably just web care (the people who do ESO's Twitter, FB and maybe even the moderating here and maybe some support as well) wanting to give exposure to an ESO article on MMORPG.com. I don't think you should take this as being on the developer agenda, especially with Matt's recent appearance on ESO Live where he said that new skill lines won't come till after balance and performance fixes (let alone a new class).

I much prefer that they add additional skill lines for the existing classes in the form of specializations. But I guess that would be much more difficult to monetize than an entirely new class. Sad to see the b2p model limit options for the betterment of this game. Sigh.

I say they need to add 2 new classes cause on that character screen it does look like 2 class's are missing, I would be all for Warden and Necromancer and that would focus on frost magic and raising the dead.

Although I do wonder....what is with so many people having an obsession with Necromancy? seriously how much power can you get out of a rotting corpse? the only undead who are actually powerful are Draugr, Lichs, Vampires and some of the more unique monstrosities like bone colossus or Bone Lord and maybe even the odd Mummy but that's about it, the rest of them are weak.

There's 2 assumptions in this post. ESO's monetization and business model are continuously brought forward as reasons as to why ZOS is or is not developing certain things. I'm not saying they have no influence, but in many cases we have no reason to assume they do. Like in this particular case: how do you know they won't do specializations, or would rather do a new class? And why would the business model be a determining factor in this decision? You can definitely monetize specializations (look at Guild Wars 2), but I don't think this is relevant at all. We won't see a new class in 2016 because this game has balance and performance issues ('No new skill lines anytime soon' for this reason has been confirmed by Matt Firor on ESO Live). Whatever plans for new skill lines they have after that, are arguably tied to Spellcrafting. A cheeky link on ESO's FB (again, the actual devs had nothing to do with this, this is another department) to a random MMORPG.com article incites a lot of speculation. In before disappointment guys, don't get your hopes up.
