Razor nagga. If so, what are some op macros you use?

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

Never used the macro feature. Quite frankly using those in this game would be like using an Aimbot in your favorite FPS. Zero skill involved.

Lol. But it gives you an advantage. I made a macro that with one press of the button, switches my action bar, hits the rapid maneuver ability and puts me in auto run. It's very useful for getting around town or Cyrodil.

Forgot to add that this macro takes like one second to do it all. I just want to know if any others have interesting macros they use? Like maybe add in a light attack on the 1-5 abilities?

It was a joke. More or less being sarcastic. I don't care for macros, but I have no problem with those that use them, however. The "Flame Shield" comment is referring to how long will your metaphorical shields last against the potential fire and acid spewed your way for mentioning anything about macros. ;)

I keep asking around and have yet to see a skilled player admit to using macros in actual combat. Some people have developed various macros to do things like you described with the weapon swap cast etc.

In Combat relying on a macro would get you killed.

I have a Razer Naga and Razer hex and dont use any macros on either mouse although I have bound some abilities to various keys and buttons.

    To an extent.

One thing to remember is that ESO is on both PC and Console, while there may be a large enough audience who's first MMO experience may have been ESO on console, so not everyone may be familiar with them.

Macros are (for obvious reasons) more popular with PC MMORPGS. I used them a lot in raids in WoW, but loathed how boring, easy and monotonous they made the PvE side of things.

Now, I may be mistaken, but I recall seeing threads of people complaining about macro users in ESO. Honestly, I don't mind it. I just feel they're not really needed, considering how quickly things can be done, especially with Animation Cancelling.

Well, I am still messing around some with macros. I currently only use one which is only to help me get around faster. I probably will use another so that my abilities like the bow one Scorched Earth happens with just a click of a button instead of pressing a button and then pressing mouse to launch it.

I will be testing out other macros like throwing in some light attacks combined with other abilities would be good or not.

Macros makes things easier. Instead of pressing a button to swap my skills, another button to hit Rapid Maneuver and another button to auto run, I hit just one button for all that.

    @Gothlander

The problem with a macro is that it locks you into a fixed automated sequence of animations. This results in a slower response time from the macro user as well as conditioning the user to rely on the macro as a crutch.

In an actual combat situation, you need to be able to respond to the changing battlefield situation constantly, and the less time you get "stunned" by your fixed sequences, the better. In addition, using a macro makes you highly predictable, which any veteran player can instantly spot and exploit your fixed attack patterns.

At the highest levels of play between two evenly matched opponents, all it takes is a single mistake or delayed action to cost you the fight. Your macro usage in that situation is tantamount to committing suicide due to your slow reaction time and the fact that you are locked into a combo even though your opponent is no longer there.

In summary, macros do indeed make things easier, but the more you rely on them, the more your personal skill as a player suffers and the more fights you'll lose thanks to it. I personally use a Naga myself, but I haven't bound any of the keys to a macro. Every single attack I execute is a button I press, thereby keeping my response times lightning fast and constantly mobile.

As far as I can see from this thread, the OP is the only one who saying that he is using macros. The rest of us is trying to explain to him why a macro is useless and how it hampers his playing ability rather than enhancing it. Also, is using a gaming mouse a bannable offense now?

Well then...i see that it was just the op...ok so OP macros are bad mkay? Using them for non combat is up to you, don't think anyone will know/ care, but combat macroing is bad. Ah and I use naga hex, I found the 12 button naga to be too many buttons to keep track of, having to search for the right button to hit, but the hex is fantastic in this game. Use 1-5 as my basic skills, mouse wheel click as ultimate, and 6 key for teamspeak talk toggle.

    I use a RAT MMO 7 mouse. http://www.amazon.com/Mad-Catz-M-M-O-7-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B006LVZEN0

I can actually use all the buttons vs the lol joke that the naga is. As far as macros go I wouldn't bother macro'ing anything combat related for the various reasons people posted above unless you're more-so into PvE. It's suicide in PvP (and PvP is a slideshow zergfest joke anyway).

I got used to the combat in ESO without macros so I don't use them, but....

Stuff to consider macroing would be animation canceling sequences for things you know you're going to use. IE Force Shock (and morphs) + Weave make an ideal combination macro as there's not a single situation you'd actually want to use the skill without the weave. If you want to just use the medium attack you still have the option to use the left mouse click.

I have a 12-buttons on the side mouse and I'm really glad I do. I basically only use the keyboard for WASD and potions (Q).
I've never really seen the use for macros though, don't know what they would help me do seeing as the game only let's you slot 12 skills and the global cooldown is so long.

Marco's from gaming keyboards/mice hasn't ever been deemed a banable offence. Using code injection etc. is.

Generally most MMO games don't ban gaming macros because they still require player input to use and regulating this would be a nightmare. Using fully automated script programs or things which manipulate the client/data streams are considered botting/cheating though.

Yeah, it's that weave is for exemple do crushing shock + little heavy Attack, it's do a light or heavy Attack between skills

It swaps skills and puts me in auto run. This macro is just to get around not for situational pvp. The macro is not on my action bar though, I can still use rapid maneuver without using the macro. I do use a macro for aoe spells like the one you get with bow.

I have it so I press the button once and it launches the ability instead of pressing the button and then targeting the ground and pressing left mouse wheel. I use the crosshairs for targeting.
