Assault and Support are not leveling at all

Dahood2
Dahood2
So ive been playing in and off for a while and for at least 2 months my assault and support tree have literally stopped leveling. Theyre stuck and a smidge from level 5 but refuse to move. I have done 10 dailies and they haven't moved at all. I returned 2 elder scrolls. Took resources, took keeps, fought in wars and not once have they moved

The amount of ap needed to level the alliance ranks and skill lines increases exponentially with every level. Much more so than anything else in the game. It will take a while.

Killing people and reaping offensive and defensive AP ticks is what you want. Turning in quests and delivering Elder Scrolls does not reward you with any meaningful amount of AP at all.

It's AP based. U have to kill a lot of enemy players along with the usual objectives of pvp.

You'll get an Assault/Support rank every 3 Alliance Ranks (AR), with the first rank up you get at rank 1.

    This means:
    AR 0: Rank 1
    AR 1: Rank 2
    AR 3: Rank 3
    AR 6: Rank 4
    AR 9: Rank 5
    AR 12: Rank 6
    AR 15: Rank 7
    AR 18: Rank 8
    AR 21: Rank 9
    AR 24: Rank 10

Is that total AP needed, or AP needed to go to the next rank? Eg, do you need 88K total to earn rank 4, or do you need to earn 88K to go from rank 3 to 4?

its total ap needed for that rank, the difference between two is the ap needed from one rank to the other.
    so you´ll need 6.9 mio for R10 or ~2,4 from R9 to R10

    Thank you for the info.

First thing I noticed was the MASSIVE gap between 88k and 326k at the most every other rank is about double the previous rank. Not here though, 4 to 5 is freaking quadruple. No wonder I got to 4 and have stalled out a bit.

Am I the only one that wants to cry? Seriously though with a good pvp group and dedication it's not too bad. I got to rank 5 rather quickly on a v16 stam templar.

Working on a pvp magicka sorc and now that I know what I'm doing its going faster.

    nope,
the first cap is more than a factor of 10, then slightly less, then 4 to 5 (waht you#re talking about), then less.
the absokutely amount is getting worse and worse ofc. no the ratio, though.

Just need the makers or whoever to go look at and emulate the PVP leveling aspect from Dark Age of Camelot and this game would be perfection.

I only recently started playing Pvp in this game, and at first I was only doing it to get Vigor (at rank 4 1/4 now). Once I started it gets addicting! Lol I hated it at first but then I started to figure out good combos and sequences to use and I am actually getting better. Once you get that first 1v1 kill and realize that getting ambushed by nightblades is not the only thing there is to PvP it gets a lot more enjoyable.
My problem now is this- I need advice and a good group to run with to refine my play even more. I want to get in to Azura Star since I hear that is where the real action is but I need to find a group (or guild) to show me the ropes. If anyone would be willing to have a PvP newb in their group and offer a few pointers I would greatly appreciate it. I run a stam-sorc vr16 in Daggerfall. I think today is the day I can change my guest server so I am switching to Azura. I keep my home as Skull since I am still a newb. Hope to see some of you on the field!

PvP is a long grind. You have to enjoy yourself to really get far. You're not going to be able to breeze through it like any other portion of this game. The first big milestone is getting caltrops. It's a huge game changer in PvP and solo play. You'll start getting a lot of partial AP while grouping, you get a lot of accidental kills. But most importantly, it burns through enemy resources. But from here on out, it's about double the AP to that first big milestone. It's a long ways to see any more ranks.

If you're wanting to grind AP, you need to get into a group that isn't about pushing keeps. Defending over long periods is where the AP is at. And you need to be on a campaign that is poplocked. The traffic is a lot better. On a good night of defending keeps, I'll see about 40k to 50k AP in a few hours. On a good night of pushing the inner keeps, I might see 20k.
