If I'm a staffless made....

If I'm a mage how much damage would I lose of I don't equip a staff? Like I just go straight hand to hand combat and blast them with spells? Would I lose any damage towards my spells or would I be ok? Also, why isn't there a skill line for hand to hand combat?

not sure what else but you will lose an enchantment.

By choosing not to equip a weapon, you will lose:

    1) The damage provided by your weapon
    2) 1 skill bar (You cannot swap while having no weapons)
    3) Passives associated with weapons
    4) 1-2 Set bonuses.

There is literally no reason not to have a weapon equipped. It doesn't cost you anything to have one, and not having one gimps your combat ability significantly.

This one hails from far Singapore, excuse this one for his high pings. He also apologizes for any formatting/spelling errors, as he tends to answer using a mobile device.

Insanity is the price of Knowledge. Herma-Mora and Sheogorath, this one bows before thee.

This one does not advocate for any class to be nerfed. There are far deeper underlying issues then a simple "Class Imbalance". The Champion System is the problem. Not classes.

Please read this before creating yet another nerf thread.

Could be he just doesnt want to use one for rp reasons.

Though in this case its a bit too much of a disadvantage to do most things, unless you want to see it as a challenge mode as well.

Ok guys, lets try this again. (Shakes head at some of the posts above.)

First off.. there is NO MAGE CLASS in ESO.

There is NO HAND TO HAND COMBAT in game. You can melee with hand to hand, if you think hitting a 10K mob for 300 points is worthwhile. ZoS never intended it from Beta on. And I never read about it before I joined Beta.

You HAVE to equip a staff to use casting SKILLS, like Destruction or Restoration Staff, so no healing for you .

Are you a sorcerer? with or without pets? You CAN use all your class skills. They will be much weaker, as a lot of your magicka pool comes from your staff, if you are magicka. Size of damage and heals are based on your magicka pool size.

<Edit> Forgot. Pretty sure you cant BLOCK to defend yourself without a weapon too.

So, how much damage would you lose? A LOT of it.

Power level to CP160 in a week:
Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.
