Imperial City PVP (Idea)

Zos.

If you want PVPers in Imperial City as well as Cyrodiil, why don't you make it so that factions can control the 6 sectors and accumulate points that grant rewards at the end (like rewards of the worthy).

- 1 point per each sector controlled per hour for campaign duration (7 / 30 days). Maybe have flags in the center like how it is currently at resources that factions have to flip to control?

You can do so much more ZOS to promote PVP!

(Then give us PVPers helmets as rewards so we don't need to PVE for top gear...)

From something @DeanTheCat posted the other day that was the original intent. However many features had to be chance to grant better access as this was now a paid download rather than content released to everyone for "free" as a subscription model.

    Yeah that sucks.

They should have 2 separate access routes, 1 via Cyrodiil which is PVP based upon keeps you own (restricted / pure PVP / double farming rate / no xp mob nerfs) and one accessed from each faction's start point / harbor where yu can port into which is purely PVE / less xp from mobs / less loot but available to everyone.

I mean, as it stands I now have all of my gear so can technically cancel my subscription (prob not what Zos wants?) as there is no incentive for me personally to go into it anymore.

The IC was originally designed with locked access in mind, where an area of epic loot and high experience mobs was rewarded as a prize for controlling most of the map in Cyrodiil. It was never meant to be this free-for-all situation we have today. Districts could be fought over and claimed for your alliance banner, allowing respawns in that district and opening the crafting stations should your alliance control the district.

The original design also didn't have the ladders leading instantly up to the districts, and access was only possible from the sewer entrances. When an alliance lost control of the keeps needed in Cyrodiil, nobody from the once-dominating alliance could enter anymore, and the new conquering alliance would fight for the districts and flip them, effectively pushing the previous owners out of the Imperial City and back into Cyrodiil.

However, due to the transition from a subscription based model to a buy to play model by ZoS, the IC design needed to be changed to accommodate the new business model. The district control system was scrapped. The access was gated on the PTS, but due to complaints about "I paid for the IC, therefore I should have free access", ZoS was threatened with lawsuits and other nasty threats, they had to give in and open the gates of the Imperial City to all. The IC then became the zergfest it is today, due to the last vestiges entry controls vanishing.

It also had the effect of devaluing the open zone of Cyrodiil, as there is no longer a "Prize" to fight for. Why fight in Cyro, when you could just head into the IC and obtain your much needed gear? This is why we need gated access back. Give us a reason to fight, and we will happily fight for it. And PvE players can farm happily in the IC once access flips, safe from the threat of enemy combatants.

This one hails from far Singapore, excuse this one for his high pings. He also apologizes for any formatting/spelling errors, as he tends to answer using a mobile device.

Insanity is the price of Knowledge. Herma-Mora and Sheogorath, this one bows before thee.

This one does not advocate for any class to be nerfed. There are far deeper underlying issues then a simple "Class Imbalance". The Champion System is the problem. Not classes.

Please read this before creating yet another nerf thread.

Surely if it is stated in the Terms that access is only granted under certain circumstances, ZOS would have been safe from Lawsuits? I mean, give people access but another way into it, away from Cyrodiil and away from clogging pop space.

Double the rewards of accessing via Cyrodiil and further nerf it 50% by accessing from a PVE method.

I guess PVPers will need to wait until the content is free until we see how it was initially meant to be played out.

    Sad.

Why would I pay for content if there is no guarantee that I can utilize it? This is not a casino where one pays there money and takes their chances at some speculative reward. It represents itself as an open world. Would you purchase a multiplayer map pack for a game that feature both single and multiplayer experiences if the terms of service stated that access was conditional and not only was access conditional you were not the agent of those conditions?
