I'm not gonna vote (but I will speak for everyone) basically the answer is 'No' nobody actually likes this system, we are all frustrated by it and try to avoid it as much as possible in its vanilla version.

Did you just quote yourself, Callous?

None of what you said refuted anything I said (in fact, you supported it while grossly contradicting yourself). Were you even attempting to refute me?

As someone with past experience in playing the market with auction houses, I'm going to have to call out your BS. You're certainly never going to see just 3 names selling everything, rare or not. You may see the same names selling certain items, as resellers tend focus on certain items, but not all of them. There will always be other names selling those items as well. And mats would be one of the worst products to invest in (unless they are rare) and one of the best examples of high risk investment (way too much competition, thus, supply for the demand), and anyone who does it is likely losing money at some point. I never have seen the same names do it for long, because they always eventually give up and attempt to recoup losses. Selling mats is far more doable and less risky with this system, though, because the foundation of the market is fragmented into a lot of little markets. Much less competition to monitor and deal with equals far less risk involved.

Of course, you wouldn't see as good of results playing the market with an auction house as with this guild store system! That was the basis of my entire argument! In spite of the tedium of some travel, it still takes a lot less effort to play the market with this system. There's much less to monitor and it's less of a time sink, because it's perfectly viable to just monitor the area you're doing business in. The majority of people are not going to be traveling around for bargains. This, of course, assumes that you are a member of one of the guilds that consistently hold traders in high traffic areas. (this is why I say above that selling mats is far more doable with this system than an AH)

An AH takes a lot more effort and time to keep track of investments and the competition in spite of the lack of travel time. Everyone has access, that makes a HUGE difference. It's a lot more challenging to make money in an open system where everyone is a potential competitor and everyone can easily find those competitors. The laws of supply and demand change drastically in that scenario. This is why you haven't found the same level of success playing the market with an AH than you have with this system. You can essentially be lazy and still have relative good success with the guild store system (provided you're in the right guild), not so with an AH. It requires a lot of hours at an AH to have any success with it (it pretty much becomes a full time job).

Face it, the guild system is much more in favor of those who play the market than any AH system has ever been. It was designed to be that way. I haven't really had much desire to play the market in ESO since I only play it casually. The little I've done has been little effort at all for decent results. Don't even need to bother with price checks and pretty much ignore Master Merchant. Just set the price to whatever I want and it always sells. The biggest thing to worry about is being a member of the right guild and keeping that membership.

If you want a challenge when playing the market, you want an AH system. If you wanted easy mode, you go for the current guild stores systems. It truly is a system of "haves and have nots".

EDIT: And there's way more ways to socialize and communicate with other human beings than joining a trade guild (in fact, most people who join them turn off chat in favor of other chats, including their main guild!). Thems certainly ARE NOT the facts and are just non sequitur fallacies.

If you're going to lock down the bank and have a sales requirement anyway, why not let recruits invite? O well, another part of the game getting skipped. Right up there with my char always getting nerfed, lol

Auction house is winning because most of the playerbase is not in a guild trader monopoly guild, just wants to easily buy/sell their stuff and get on with playing the game.

Or maybe because a non-representative sample was polled?

    Nah, of course not!

You aren't speaking for everyone, pretending to do so is being completely ignorant to other people's opinions. I really like the system, so you sure as hell aren't speaking on behalf of me. If you look at the poll, just about half the people like the current system, so you aren't speaking on their behalf either..
