Yes, I do. Why? Because I know how much servers cost to run. I know how much good devs and artists make in salary. And I want to support that. I want to support ZOS' coding efforts to improve the game, artists to create new designs and environments, writers to develop more story and background. That's worth $15 to me.

I can spend $15 on a good quality pizza that we'll enjoy for like... maybe 20-30 minutes? Yet I can pay $15 an enjoy the game the entire month. Why wouldn't I? I dunno. I find it odd that people will go to Starbucks and spend $5 on a coffee and shrug at the price, but when asked to pay $15 a month for a game suddenly go "WHOA, WHOA, WHOA... you want me to what, now?"

you do know u can play the game without the sub...right? my question is whether it is worth it compared to not having a sub

I only subbed because I was hoping they would being back the bonus items every few months. I've been subbing since Xbox's release, it's nice I will keep paying to support my favorite game developers.

Only reason to sub is to support zos really.

    Im not subbed

    Great post...same here

no reason to sub if the support is poor and they have failed to fix many exploits
and are taking forever to implement a CP fix for PVP ever since I got VR1 I have
pretty much stopped playing and just come in to sell stuff and then log out

I agree there should be more but not xp, games get ruined when too much xp is given out. Right now after all these months I think there should be 12 character slots for plus members. That could end up making more money in long run for them because a LOT of players will sub just for that reason.

But who am I? LOL when the game was announced going B2P with a crown store and how PC/MAC players were treated during that time, they forgot about us and concentrated on consoles. During that time I was screaming loyal players should get lifetime subs. But now the more time I think about it 12 character slots would be fair and acceptable to all party's.

I think extra slots make sense as crown store purchases but character slots for a sub don't make sense as those characters would become locked if an account ran into a renewal problem.

Also being a PC beta tester and playing on PC at release and then moving to Xbox while continuing on PTS for PC , the PC group needs to be real. It's not all about any one group. There is no favoritism going on and no one is left out.

For the most part we are all playing the same game.
Development delays and set back influenced all groups.

You are kidding right? Sorry we are not all playing the same game. Going from PC to Consoles you should know that more than anyone else. But I won't get into argument with you over it, just amazes me when people like you make statements like this.

    1. SWTOR republic does this but they take it to extremes but you can also purchase the extra slots from store to activate those characters.
    2. Again too much xp ruins the games, been proven in games like SWTOR and LOTRO. It isn't always (or shouldn't be) about getting to end game. A lot of people just enjoy the journey.
    3. With more layoffs hitting ZoS they are going to be forced to do something soon because after all it is all about money if you want the game to expand and flourish!
    4. People on these forums that think just the box dollars will keep the game alive are foolish and have no idea how MMORPG's work!

We are all playing the same game.
There are some very tiny tweaks within patches but otherwise it's the same. One week or so may differ from one platform to another buts it's all the same. Extra slots as DLC makes sense but the ESO plus offer also makes sense as is.

If they make major changes again then it'll make sense to adjust ESO plus but right now it's worth every penny.

Currently I only stay subbed for the XP boost and Crowns to spend on XP scrolls. Personally I wish the XP boost was higher as I'm ridiculously sick of grinding and questing in this game. I actually enjoy the end game that is offered, especially that of PVP. The faster I can get a character to VR14 the faster I can play the parts of the game I actually enjoy. Ya know, after the countless hours of the same quests and grinding the same mobs over and over again...

The funny thing is the ones who sub to "support the game." They don't need it. The other funny thing is that sub vs non-sub, your character doesn't change or become better.

as a subbed member i dont expect to be handed godly power but 1200 crowns a month and an xp buff doesnt really show gratitude for my support. as a member you should be apart from the herd a bit more. at least send me a fricken coffee mug or a key chain, things that make a whirring noise work too.
seriously though, id be happy with more crowns/month

When this was a game I felt I could speak to friends and family about with excitement, when ZOS was a developer that, I thought, was committed to bringing an authentic Elder Scrolls feel to this MMO they constructed... when when when.

I have been subbed since the option opened up on my PC early access account.

I almost certainly will no longer remain subbed once my current period is up. I would have been happy to remain subbed "to support the game" if I had much hope left that what they will bring will be much more than increasing levels of gear grind in PvP/Group content. I don't.

I used to believe that ZOS had betrayed our good intentions, I have now realised this is in error. They have betrayed their own.

Well I bought ESO plus when I first got the game and was planning on letting it run out, since I didn't find it all that special and the crowns were next to useless as there's nothing on the crown store that interests me... Untill I got an email from playstation store thanking me for my purchase.
I was like "wtf! I didn't purchase anything from ps store.. Sonys trippin hard".
I didn't realise ESO plus was an automatic renewal service because I didn't read anywhere that it was.
So it used up all my existing credit and took money out of my bank to add funds because I didn't have enough. Wasn't to happy about that bit.
Nice work ZOS.. You got me but I'll be cancelling that asap.

My current 6 month sub is up in November and I've no intention of renewing it this time around. I've been subbed non-stop since beta, but I don't see them doing their part to fix bugs, get content out that matters and not just crown store tripe. Things like Flesh Atronach's not dropping their achievement trophies should have been fixed ages ago. How feckin' hard can it be to fix a drop?

No not anymore. 10% xp and a few crowns to buy cosmetic junk is not enough to support ZoS with regular payments. Not for this product. 1 DLC after the first year and it's barely more than a recreation of the Imperial City from Oblivion? LOL

Imperial City from oblivion was what it was because of the limitations of technology at the time. They made it look big but in reality the city was quite small for a place that was supposed to be the age old center of the Empire. Now in 2015 when we have franchises producing sprawling and realistic cities for us gamers to explore and romp in we get what? A cut and past version of Imperial Village from 10 years ago? LAWLS

I play ESO every day for a number of hours, so no, I don't mind spending a few bob each month to support the game I spend a lot of time on. The 10% exp is a really nice addition - it's not too low, and it's not too high so that you outlevel things quickly.

But then u still pay 15 dollars for a month of not much return... I think at the very least, Xp should be increased... This won't break the game, and is easy to implement

Maybe not much 'immediate' return, but it's like money in the bank, it doesn't go anywhere and is there to use when you want to for something significant like downloaded content. XP should definitely not be increased, that is probably the single worst change they could put in place.

Haha, I think I will be holding on to them for a while then, all I want is some nice costumes and DLC.
Exactly, they're perfect for that. And when costumes do come along that we like we have Crowns there already. Plus we've had all the other benefits ongoing for as long as ones' been a subscriber.

Not another one of these threads... there was a poll a couple of weeks ago asking about people subbing and a huge majority of those here are subbed- so obviously those who are subbed think it's worth it. I always love how people complain about lack of content, but then don't bother to realize that it takes a LOT of money to create new content, and ESO is already deep in the hole financially thanks to the PC launch fiasco and the extra year it took to fix and launch the console version. Which means, if you want to the game to continue, it NEEDS a steady stream of income... which is why we see so many 'Crown Store' additions, and I expect many more to come. I've personally spent a LOT of money into this game since I started in May, but I'm OK with that because it's a game I devote hours to on my days off; I get a LOT more entertainment out of this game than I would spending even more on going out partying, movie theater, etc.

As far as adding more XP to the subscription, we already have players complaining that they want an option to NOT get the XP bonus increase... so they would complain even more if it were increased. Besides that, with XP Scrolls in the Crown Store, there is no way they'll increase XP gain on subscription- that is part of their steady stream of additional income.

I have plenty of cash but I work too hard to get it to waste a dollar, much less $15 a month.

0$ to have the entire game. 15$ to progress through the game 10% faster. + worthless crowns. No thanks. I'll be buying IC with the free crowns.

More than anything I just wish the game was strong enough to justify the sub still.

I will sub when the sub has more features. Right now, I'd rather buy crown packs. I don't care about the 10% bonuses. As I see it, the biggest draw of the sub is access to the DLC. Once there are 6 or so DLC packs the sub will be worth more than it is now.

Those that are subbed right now, and have been subbed since April have done so out of their desire to be a subbed member. For their $75 they've gotten 7500 crowns and a 20% bonus. To XP and gold. If someone spent $80 on two crown packs during this same period they would have gotten 11000 crowns. To me, the value of subs vs crowns is obvious, especially during this period when there are no DLC packs.

On Feb 6 (when I had like 3 months left on my sub) I posted this thread: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/150450/eso-subscription-benefits-suggestions/p1

In it I have a list of suggested features that would have retained my subscription. Some of the suggestions were built on other ideas I had posted but the ideas that could have implemented immediately were:
    Gidorick wrote: »
    • 10% Public Crown Store discount: This would entice players to buy more as subscribers!
    • Ownership of DLC as Loyalty Bonuses over time If DLC pack 1 costs $45 require players be subscribed for a TOTAL of 4 non-consecutive months to own this DLC. If DLC pack 2 costs $30, require players be subscribed for an additional 3 months (7) to own this DLC. The total cost of the months subscribed should be MORE than the cost of the DLC. Players shouldn't lose access to these owned DLC if they unsubscribe.
    • Able to join up to 10 Guilds Players who subscribe should be able to join more guilds than those who do not. The additional guilds should be under the "subscriber guilds" and should be clear as to which the player will loose access to if they unsubscribe.
    • +4 Additional Character slots Players should have access to an additional 4 character slots, which they loose access to if they unsubscribe.
    • Priority queuing when entering game and zoning: Subscribers should be at the front of the line to get into the game and to move from one area to another.
    • Access to a subscriber-exclusive area of the Crown Store. In a special subscriber-only area of the crown store players will still have to buy items with Crowns but the 10% Subscriber discount should NOT apply to these items. ALL players should be able to view the Subscriber Crown Store, but only Subscribers should be able to buy from it. Additionally, this could include the following 3 features.
      • 1 month early access to all Costumes and Mounts: Giving a month's early access to Costumes and Mounts will do a lot to make subscriptions desirable. Subscribers who buy these items early will not get the 10% crown store discount.
      • 5 day early access to all DLC expansions: Giving 5 days early access will entice players who feel like they must play the newest content right away won't be able to resist subscribing!
      • Ability to purchase the Pledge of Mara: Only in the Subscriber Crown Store should the Pledge of Mara be able to be purchased.
    • Monthly Subscriber Treasure Maps: Each month, Subscribers should get at least 1 map (1 in each faction would be nice) that leads players to treasures. These treasures could include special subscriber items.
