Gives new meaning to the term...."Buying a Bite" doesnt it, also the Pumpkin Polymorph, now their are explanations for many things ingame that can make them fit into lore but this takes it off the deep end of unlorefriendliness.

Then again not everything in this game should be taken as "Lore" or "Canon" like the Dragonstar Arena for one (Corprus monsters?, no person would dare bring one of them to craglorn for fear of getting infected)

When Decem.... erhm! I mean... Evening Star comes we'll start to hear about "Saint Claude" an elderly bearded Breton who flies around in an enchanted carriage and gives sweet loot to all the good kids (or naughty adventurers). Mark my words, it will happen, since ZOS seems to be throwing Lore out the window...

Come on, ZOS! There's no Halloween in TES, that Pumpkin Spectre is just plain stupid. TES has its own festival, known as Witches Festival, let's not ruin that with Pumpkins.
Frostfall 13th is known throughout Tamriel as the Witches' Festival when the forces of sorcery and religion clash. Demonologists, conjurors, lamias, warlocks, and thaumaturgists meet in the wilderness and the creatures created or summoned there may plague Tamriel for eons.

I actually like the spectre outfits. Gonna be fun, but I noticed this wasn't posted yet.

Cool! These are so awesome! I absolutely LOVE my current Skeleton Polymorph on my vampiric sorc so I will definitely be upgrading to that Scarecrow! And now I can get an awesome matching Skeletal horse to boot? Double awesome.

I love being able to play as the monsters and stuff, so for people like me that's really great additions. If only they released a skeletal Lich costume I would melt from excitement.

I might even get that Eochai polymorph, it would go great with the Nightmare Courser :D

We're looking at how best to celebrate the Tamrielic holidays in-game, after we've addressed some of the higher-priority gameplay matters.

Well, according to Firor in a French inteview, it appears that higher priority gameplay matters are concluded and they have decided how best to celebrate Tamrielic Terrestrial holidays in-game.

I am OK with recolors in the Crown Store. I considered it a good sign that the studio was working on more substantial content. These Halloween items will just keep reminding me that ZOS could have taken the high road and introduced new content that placed skeleton mounts into the game instead of the easy road with out-of-context recolors. Instead of just providing some content in the context of the game, they are just going to dump cliché scarecrows, jack-o-lantern headed creatures, and skeleton mounts into the game as part of a Terrestrial holiday celebration.

It is the job of the development studio to take requests from players that are out of the context of the game and guide those players towards the game by using a strong vision of what the game means. Players will always make requests that come from a variety of different backgrounds. As much as people want just a superficial Halloween experience, I would hope that the studio would guide that desire into something better that fits into the game world and Elder Scrolls. There are plenty of ways to do it, but they all take time and effort to do it right. It takes more than just setting a graphics artist at the task of recoloring, no matter how artfully it is done.

If Halloween is the vision that they have for The Elder Scrolls, then so be it. I am playing this game because it is an Elder Scrolls game, which does hold ZOS to a somewhat higher bar regarding lore and the game world, even if that bar is a challenge and they don't always get over it.

I purchased two of the Clouded senche mounts for two different accounts. Should have waited. I might have reconsidered if I had seen this before. Definitely won't be purchasing from the Crown Store any of these Halloween items. They are very nice, for other games, but they are well below my expectations for TES.

I think everyone is just overreacting a little here imo, but to each his own. I mean yes it's a "scarecrow" but just look at it, to me it still fits perfectly fine into the world of ESO, I don't think anyone would complain if that were a base game enemy you had to kill in some haunted lands/crypt or some such. The spriggan, eochai pumpkin thingy and the mounts too.

I quite enjoy seeing seemingly monstrous creatures turning to the good side or under the command of "good" npc's and stuff like that since we hardly ever get to play on the side of the "evil" creatures unfortunately and though I don't actively RP like tons of people do, I do try to immerse myself into it as much as possible. I see no problem here, even as I use the skeleton polymorph when I play all the time with my boyfriend he wears the Mannimarco costume and I just pretend he summoned me to do his bidding and stuff lol. Nerdy I know but that's how I think about additions like these and it's always the theme of stuff I want to use whenever I am given the chance.

I just think peeps need to maybe relax and pick their battles, this is not really that big of a deal and in fact will give a bunch of people like myself a lot of enjoyment. I think they did a pretty awesome job blending the general theme of these things with the look and feel of ESO. I'm no expert on all the lore and stuff like that so I'm sure those who are wholeheartedly against these will still disagree no matter what anyone says but to me they look great and appropriate to the game at the same time.

I can just about get over Glacier Horse, Fire Horse and Skele Horse, but a pumpkin polymorph? That is one seriously corrupted spriggan. Someone get @Lawrence_Schick in here... there are only three acceptable sorts of pumpkin:
    Plants, Dogs, and Foxes:

That's a weregourd, do not let it bite you. The results will be deeply unpleasant.

Honestly? I'm more okay with that one than with the XP scrolls. At least there you can legitimately say that you're not getting anything you couldn't obtain in game with minimal time and effort.

headless horsemen in skyrim, anyone remember? seriously who the !@#$ cares about costumes and mounts? if your into RP i get it, dont use it. obviously they cant make everyone happy, but i think most ppl arent as hardcore into "the lore" as the forum cops are. last time i checked no one is following anything the way it was meant to be. if you are, your taking something to serious that shouldnt be. its a game go play it or get over it.

"In my opinion" could so easily have been added to that sentence. Maybe the reason that it wasn't explains why you made it in the first place.

Skeletal mounts, pumpkin specter skins? This game is quickly becoming a freak show. :(

    Skyrim had a skeletal mount.

It did. Although it was a mod.

Likes the skeletal mounts, pumpkin & scarecrow skin.

Ummm, no it was definately not a mod. It was part of the Vampire DLC and it was found in the area that the mother vampire was in.........thought you knew.

    Soon, doing undaunted pledges like:
    wizardoz.jpg[/spoiler]

All you need is the scare crow costume:

Dorthy = Breton Female Templar (your leader and healer)
Tin Man = Dunmer DK (get the grey skin) in heavy Breton armor with one handed axe
Cowardly Lion = Khajiit NB (gotta be able to stealth and hide)
Scare Crow = brainless pug dps in costume!

Dinosaur Chicken Nuggets - Argonian mNB Tank/Heals (PVP)
Strawberry Semifreddo - Dunmer mSorc DPS // Sunny D-Light - Breton mTemp Heals
Peanut Butter Sandwich - Orc sDK DPS // Kellogg's Frosted Flakes - Argonian mWard Tank/Heals (PVE)
    Cor-Leonis

Most of that is fine actually. Those Hero's costumes might even find their way into my backbag and so far I have not bought one single thing off of the Clown Store.

But that pumpkin crap - that I take personal.
Polluting Tamriel with shite like that just because there is an upcoming holiday featuring it... that's just lame. Really.

Yes, but I don't think they ever intended for the bites to become a commodity within the game. This will fix some issues related to that.
