Not sure I agree that the dress is wrong for the ES universe. Look at some of these dresses from Oblivion. I, for one, am excited that they are adding more clothing costumes instead of just armor packs
The point is that this is a different game, different art style and different era of Tamriel history. These outfits just don't fit with the art style of this game. To me, they will always look glaringly out of place.

I think I am with Morna on this one. I love the new costumes that are coming, and will buy every single one and giggle with glee. But we see 'nobles' in this game as NPCs and none of them are wearing anything even remotely close to this. These are high ranking nobility that own huge tracts of land and in some cases seem even above the law, yet next to these new costumes they look like dirty paupers.
For me it is the same issue I have with dyes in my RP. We all run around in vibrant, true colors, that no one else in the world seems to have. It is jarring to see a collection of RPers mixed in with NPCs because of just how badly the players stand out. At least with that we can choose the more muted dyes and the looted clothing has the worn look to it that we see on what NPCs wear.
Maybe it wouldn't be so unsettling if they would give the new outfits and variants of them to some of the NPCs in game that are supposed to be nobility. Some of them are even in the courts of the King/Queen of their alliance. High time to bring out the fine silks if I ever saw one.

The datamined info only says there will be transformation costumes for werewolves and vampire lords. Which sounds like it's going to be a Halloween week crown store special. As far as I know, there hasn't been any hint that Vampire Lords are coming to ESO as an actual skill set.

I can see them adding, vampire lord skill line, they can make the ult in vampire lord, form be the telekinesis throw which throws foe in air not that far and do physical damage while they give drain batcloak and turning into bats that move you a certain distance in front of you like that one sorcerer skill. But they make those skills only useable in vampire lord form push summon gargoyle for 10 fifteen seconds. And make vampire lord a toggle. Like it was in skyrim
They can balance the skills easy, its possible that its better to be in human form then vampire lord form. But I am not sure but they might be adding vampire lord later on. Probaly as dlc content. It won't be as powerfull as skyrims was. In fact it was not that powerfull anyways. Unless with mods.starkerealm wrote: »Thevampirenight wrote: »starkerealm wrote: »Thevampirenight wrote: »

I can't, because I remember the days when a single vampire in PvP could solo 40+ players simply by spamming batswarm.
Also, remember, the lord transform is very powerful. It's not an issue in Skyrim because the Dragonborn is already a demigod. But when you're balancing against other players? It's a serious issue that can't be ignored.

I agree, the costumes look cool and nice, but holy crap, they really don't fit into the Elder Scrolls universe. I hope this is not a sign of things to come where ESO goes full stupid and starts introducing largely lore-breaking aesthetics into the game.
dragon break .. lore don't matter

That's not how it works. Not at all. Dragon breaks aren't the answer to everything.I agree, the costumes look cool and nice, but holy crap, they really don't fit into the Elder Scrolls universe. The only part about it that looks impractical is the horns on the helmets (which are a terrible idea, and were never used for any non-ceremonial helmets in all of history). Aside from that, they look entirely practical, and very representative of early forms of plate armour. I wonder if you're looking at the bare arms and considering that to be impractical - historically before plate armour was well developed enough to be fully articulated it was very common to leave most of the arms, and most of the legs unprotected, as adding protection would have severely limited movement. Look at Roman lorica segmentata, or Greek hoplite armour for just a couple of examples of this. When mail became common, the limbs were typically protected by mail, but of course even though mail is flexible, it is still heavy and will tire out the person wearing it.Dekkameron wrote: »I like 'em all!
The outfit the female Nede is wearing on the right looks AWESOME! although i suspect i won't be wearing the helmet.
What happened to everyone caring about practicality with armour? This looks entirely impractical, and I am pretty sure that is the exact reason given as to why there aren't any sexy female costumes of clothing or armour, because it's "impractical".
Double standards.

Having studied those eras of England I could certainly not tell the dress was inappropriately placed as belonging to different centuries...and I'm not sure I believe you anyway.
Personally, I think they all look great, and particularly relish the idea of using the wedding suit as a stage 4 vampire. Should look awesome!

Unless they add some form of massive drawback, like anti-vamp weapons or something (more than just a flame enchant tho). I imagine they'd also have to pimp the werewolf out more if they did this so it's probably not super likely.

The problem is two-fold.
You can't take them out. Vampires and Werewolves are a part of the game, and being able to play as them has evolved from a novel distraction to a major series feature.
You need to make them more powerful than normal players, but that needs to be balanced against dealing with normal players without also making the entire experience unpleasant.
That's the problem with a lot of the solutions people push, especially people who want to have a game without Werewolves or Vampires as playable characters. They're far too punitive.
Vampire and Werewolves need to be a legitimate alternate playstyle, that is actually available to players who want access to that, without also being absurdly powerful to the point that players who don't want to engage in that playstyle are forced to, in order to be competitive.
Begging for the ability to one shot any vamp you meet is punitive. Begging for the lord transform would make vampires mandatory... or require completely devaluing that power into a joke. Without a lot of middle ground.
