What is the best solo class.

I've messed around with this game for a couple weeks. I'm completely lost. What is the best solo class for pve and random pvp and zerging.

    Sorc.
If you learn everything there is to know about a Sorc they are just NASTY!
There are some people that will say DK's are easy mode and they are right, but if you are looking for something that can do just anything and do it well...... Sorc except noooooo substitutes!

Ive leveled a Sorc, DK and NB now and I found the Sorc to be the easiest to solo.

They are also great for PvP.

I play a dual-wielding Nightblade and can kill just about any normal enemy with three hits, significantly more for bosses.

Templars are pretty decent for solo play, I just lvled one and can solo everything including world bosses and group delves.

    Templars.

they can perform EVERY role in the game, receive their awesome dps skill and self / group heal at level 1, and can be as easy or difficult / rewarding to play as you want.

I have played all classes to vet, and half to vet 14. if I could only play one it would be Templar. sorc gets a tree wasted on pets if that's not your thing, DK's cannot group heal as well as others, and NB's cannot tank as well as others. Templars have no wasted trees and can do everything.

For a new player a magicka Templar is probably better than a sorc.Just wear all light and use Puncturing Sweep +some stuff from level 1 to vr14 than use Puncturing Sweep some more. Very good in the next patch at least for solo pve. The Sorc is great and ultimately better at soloing but I think It's slightly more involved as it require using 2 buttons and 3 toggles instead of just one button.

Have to say I've really found them all easy to play with the caveat that they all have learning curves. The Templar, because of healing, is probably the easiest. But man.. sneaking up on a big old troll and one-shotting it with your two-hander.. gotta love those Nightblades. And the sustain of a DK in battle... For all the griping that goes on here on the boards this game is actually pretty damn fun. What's frustrating are the bugs and somewhat random way ZOS chooses to interact with the community. You never know if the next patch is going to nerf your favorite grind spot or make your glass cannon pure glass and no cannon.

see .. there is not best class, its all a matter of perspective
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

Personally, I found Mag Templar the easiest. Good AoE, flexible class, self heals. Though it has to be said, Overload on sorc is pure OP, and with a small Ultimate demand, you really can't go wrong. It may not have the self healing ability like a Templar at lower level, but it's possible to kill things before you require healing anyway.

I think the best solo class is the one you feel comfortable with. I play dual wield DK Nord. It's not the strongest one, but I like it.. wich is probably the most important; Fun

I particularly like Templar at the moment for solo - good self heals and very versatile. By that I mean you can build them as magicka healer/dps, tank, or stam dps pretty effectively.

If you can't handle solo questing and everything is hard for you while you're 2-3 levels higher than the enemies you're up against, go sorcerer because you get 2 pets and one of them is tanky.

If you see yourself skilled as a player, go magicka templar - it's a 2 button play really, just spam puncturing sweep and heal yourself with breath of life if things go wrong.

Templar - very easy to play with the right skills/morphs and a jack-of-all-trades

Templar is the most forgiving class. Magica or stamina build, probably the easiest to play I'd say.

Dragonknights are next, take a little more thought depending on build, and may feel a bit underwhelming at first if going for heavy armor tank build, but will still carry you through most things without difficulty.

Sorcerors... take quite a bit of skill to use, but can be -very- effective in solo play once you can use them well.

And nightblades... depend. Magica builds are fun to use, bow stamina builds are good, stamina melee builds are hardmode! ;) But stamina nightblades live and/or die through their backstab success, meaning when that fails you, you sometimes will be in trouble against enemies which other classes just laugh about...

I wouldn't say there is a "best" solo class, becoause all can solo very, very well. Tey just solo differently.

NB's murder mobs before they cna really hurt them and use drains to keep hp up.

Dragon knights are naturally tanky without really doing much to them, and with a solid 2h weapon stam build can wreck faces and take little damage.

Templars healing spells make them pretty much unkillable solo'ing, however they lake the dps of the other three if you go with a more solo build. Not by much! but a little less. It;s the trade off you get for the survivability.

Sorcs just melt faces all day before the mobs even have a chance to look at them. They can be pretty squishy depending on how you build them, but with them huge bust damage, that is generally not a problem.

in the end, it's just make whatever you prefer to play. They are all very viable so solo with just about any setup.

Playing a Dunmer DK Pyro Mage, There is not much I can't solo. Spent 1700 hours on NB, and a lot of time on my Templar, but But The DK mage has Distance, Damage, Shields, and Heals all built in, you won't be needing any help with any solo zone.

I'm in the process of leveling up all four classes. My experience so far is that DK are probably the easiest from the beginning, it's hard to make a bad DK. Sorc are indestructible once you figure them out and get to level 20 or so. Templar are also great at soloing once you get a few levels and a decent magicka/stamina pool, they're just a little slow in early levels. Nightblades tend to take the longest to figure out effective builds unless you happen to stumble on the right combination early on.

IMHO it depends upon preferred style of play. I have done all 4.
Sorc (or magika Templar) can be really powerful, and you can develop a char that rarely gets hit by anything other than a ranged spell or weapon, and does devastating damage. Having some powerful destro spells, some self heals, and at least one "get the %#&$ off me!" skill to knock mobs back or lock them up makes for a fun, powerful char with a strong stick & a clean skirt.
If you like to get in there and hack, sword & board DK is fun.
Lately I'm really digging my sneak and strike NB using dual wield & bow. One-shotting trolls is cool.

If you're having trouble at whatever level you're at, make sure you:
    • Haven't missed too many quests & gotten most skyshards, so you are the best you can be for that area
    • Take food to enhance health and/or your Mag/Stam
    • Focus on Magika OR Stamina - pretty hard to do both. And be aware of what the skills on your bar use.
    • Aquire some nicely enchanted armor.

With a Templar I've been able to solo a lot of group content, including some Craglorn group delves. They can be built to be very tank and have great heals and regen at the same time. They don't put out the most DPS, but it's steady enough to kill things while keeping yourself alive.

Level up Destro to Force Pulse fast. Then it is possible to have Shattering prison, boundless storm Clanfear ,Restoring twilight at around lvl 20.Then prioritize leveling up Summoning until you get Conjured Ward and Liquid lightning. Pet sorc can solo some normal group dungeons before reaching vet level. Something the other classes can't quite do.
