What is the best solo class.

Any class can do solo PVE just fine. Its all about your play style. Keep skills in your bar that you want to level up. Even if you aren't using them they still gain XP as long as they are on the bar.

I've been playing as a Sorc and have had no trouble. The 2 pets are very helpful when fighting bosses or mobs and the Storm Calling skill line makes it pretty easy to drop most enemies before they can get close to you. If you have a decent spell resist you won't need much healing.

Most importantly, don't stand still while fighting. Move around, Block/Dodge, avoid the red lines and circles from enemy skills.

As for PvP (which I have not played yet) I have been told that it is hard to spec for PvE and PvP at the same time. Focus on PvE while you level up and respec for PvP later on when you have more skill points and have leveled up more skill lines. Think of leveling from 1-50 as your time to play around with your character and learn to play the game.

I think everything can solo easily, but my sorcerer was faceroll for me. In the beginning, I had a pet and already 1-2 shot mobs with frag. I solo'd everything 1-50 with no issues, including all bosses, solo'd dolmens, and did all the public dungeons. 1-15 I had the clannfear, and dumped it after I got a resto staff as 2nd weapon.
Honestly its too easy.

Haven't tried pvp yet, but I heard magicka sorcerer and magicka nightblades are top dogs in next patch so far. I would just play whatever you want in PvP considering it changes all the time. The 'best' classes in one patch aren't always the best later.
