I've said before that ZOS is de-emphasizing the importance of crafting and has little regard for the people undertaking it. Nothing in the hour long Q&A session that I just watched made me question that conclusion.

I remember in beta when one of the senior guys at ZOS was saying how crafting would be relevant and that it would be a very important skill in the game. He said that it would take time to research. A long time. The long time spent researching would be worthwhile. If a player wanted a special item they could go to a crafter.

Well, this is not exactly how it is turning out.

Yep, as the leader of a max capacity guild organized in beta as a Crafting first Trading second Guild I am pretty kitten ticked right now. I'm all for max gear being hard to get, but lying too crafters and spitting on us is not a decent way to do it.

Anyways, I'll be dropping 2 subs once they run out.
Semi retired from the trading aspects of the game.

Grasping straws because they can't release content more than once a year and have to slow people down.
    Cap on CP, same thing.

This is what happens when a game company can't provide content in a reasonable timeframe.

they just add more grind to the game to make up for the lack of content.

In 20 mins I can usually collect 80 - 100 of any material, all this is doing is making you work for your vet 16 sets. Be it crafting, drops, or purchases

Does anyone else agree that it feels as though ZOS is trying to pull out all of the stops before the next DLC drops? They make a few "tweaks" which are supposed to be for longevity, but instead make it a grind fest. They say that the IC is for PVP (primarily), but in reality causes an issue because of people who PVE who wish to remain relevant within their gear. AND! You have this sort of nonsense transpiring involved with the amount of materials needed to craft decent armor. Who's willing to bet that for the next update, it'll require 200-250 materials per item?

It's not that bad. The update isn't even a week old and i already have four pieces of VR16 gear, and very close to having 5th.

Not me. If i had to bet, it would be on the next update adding a whole new tier of material, and having similar amounts required to craft v17/v18 as v15/v16.

Nice, but really? You have obtained that much in so little time? Now the question becomes, did you buy those materials or did you farm them? Because if you farmed them, then all I can say is wow. Your grinding skills must be unmatched.

I wouldn't bother ditching your VR14 gear either until you have enough for VR16 or unless you don't have it as I found out it's actually a downgrade to set bonus. I tried swapping in 2 1h maces at VR15 on my hundings 5 set and it dropped the 5th trait number to the 280s from the 299 and reduced my overall damage as a result. The leap on a purple VR16 to a gold VR16 is pretty insane though.

Three armor pieces for 30000 telvar stones, one dagger purely from deconstructed v15 junk metal items, and one bow the same way as dagger(still missing 18 wood material)

The stones can be farmed really fast if you start with 100 for the instant 2x modifier.

Hmm... Nice advice. I'll be making sure to do that. Kudos.
