Crown Motifs need to be Account bound.

I need support from the fellow ESO community. I personally bought all racial Motifs and the Ancient Elf motif just because i really love how they are in the crafting system in this game and really didn't want to wait to find them in the world. Sadly I found out that they are not account bound which I think is pretty stupid because as an Elder Scrolls player, I love making multiple players and trying new things out. Should of known that they aren't since they are consumables but still. As a player, I say they need to fix it to where all Motifs purchased in the crown store should be account bound since they are just a cosmetic feature in the game. Isn't like we still don't have to find the materials. Personally, I don't feel like spending my money over and over just to buy cosmetics for all my characters. That's like buying costumes and mounts for each character over and over.

I feel the motifs are already in a good place. Right now - there are already benefits to using the motifs from the crown store vs. in game. In game the "rare" motifs you need to have a high skill level and many skill points put into the skill - with crown store motifs this is not necessary. I feel allowing it to teach all your characters to motif would take it too far.

[EDIT] There is no need to purchase them from the crown store for all your characters - just work on finding or buying them in game.

No... Because they are also available in the game for gold and through discovery.

However, the character that knows the style can make gear for any character.

I've seen several people trying to sell crown store motifs on PC...they were all bound. So unless Zenimax changed it recently crown store motifs are bound.

I think OP probably meant account-wide, not account-bound. I would be opposed to them being account-wide though, as they are consumables. A consumable can only have one consumption. It would be like buying a TV from the store and getting another for free just because your house has two TV sockets.

I'd be fine with the Crown Store bought RARE motifs being account bound simply because they are so expensive and knowing them doesnt mean you CAN make gear instantly of any level you still have a craft grind ahead of you and still need to get mats etc.. knowing the style in no way guaruntees you instant access to what it makes.

But not for normal motifs whats the point they can be found pretty easily I have like 55 sat in one characters bag..

or they could offer collection packs that are account bound and then separate cheaper single motifs of that pack that are character bound

I personally learn tailor on my mage-like character
and Blacksmithing on my warrior-like character.
If you prefer not to learn it all on one character ,it can become insanely expensive which is not right
    I couldn't justify the cost

Personally, I think ALL motifs should be account wide whether they are found in the world, bought via the guild stores, or purchased in the crown store. Motifs are appearance only and it gets very expensive to buy the motifs for multiple characters on the same account. All my characters love to craft and making motifs 'account wide' does not lessen the amount of time it takes to bring a character to its full potential for making light, med or heavy gear, or weapons. The real effort is researching all the traits which is the most time consuming part of learning to craft. Leave the researching so that each character has to do their own research, but make motifs account wide. That would make it easier for us to have multiple characters that can craft gear and weapons, not only for ourselves, but for others, without having to log to another character.

I have one dedicated "crafter" toon which has maxed all the crafting traits, for exactly this reason.... I don't want to buy a motif more than once.

My theory is this is a quality of life feature that will be added soon, along with a change allowing account wide research timers.

Look at monster helms and shoulders, they add a statistical and game play advantage, are considerably harder to acquire than a modif, yet they are account bound and can be swapped between active toons. It's just a matter of time till it happens, like you OP I wish it was already in place.

I was thinking the same as the OP, and there is a degree of consensus above.

Notwithstanding if motifs earned through gameplay become account-bound or not, I think charging 5000 crowns for the Alliance Crafting motifs and then not having the styles unlocked on all characters is pretty scandalous.

Just have a look at how much real-world money 5000 crowns equates to...

One crafting style for the price of Orsinium and Thieves Guild dlcs added together. Go figure.

I agree purchased motif's or those learned via exploring should be account wide. However, you are preaching to the choir. ZOS will never do that to much money lost. In addition, Horse leveling should be account wide also. But, again ZOS will not do that either to much money lost there too.

I have one character that is my master crafter he is the one who leans all the motifs. The rest of my characters rely on him for their crafting needs. I will not throw more money into ZOS's pocket.

I disagree, nothing stupid here, it's wise to have a single crafter character with all crafting skills unlocked in full - which takes a lot of time and efforts to fill all skill points - and make all crafting with this one character. Just reload game, craft, put gears to bank, or sell/withdraw from guild store which puts them to mailbox and available for any of your alts immediately.
Making multiple crafters would be stupid idea - why would I need to fill all their crafting skills if single crafter can do all the job, and others just use skill points for abilities, spells or keen eyes :). And all of my 8 alts wear gears in different rare motifs, usually created easily by the same crafter character.

I agree. ZoS has a pretty reasonable cash shop for the most part. But single character only motifs are the one thing that makes them like the Asian import cash-grab in-game stores

I agree 100% with this statement.

Now, what do you think about 2500 crown character name change...that's a massive ripoff.

I'm sick of items being BOUNDED. I should be able to sell anything that I want, and not being it restricted to my account alone.

DO you feel that crown purchases should not be bound?
