I was going to say the same thing. That also applies to the Craglorn XP buff, I believe. I don't understand why so many people are annoyed about this patch being minor... that's kinda what the incrementals are for. Minor bug fixes.

I would like to suggest to ZOS though that they split their audio files into smaller segments; rather than having 4 files of 1.6 GB each, how about 8 files of 800 MB each. Then when things are changed, we don't need to download so much. Of course if/when that change is implemented, we'd still have to download 6.4 GB once to account for the change.

Well, I won't argue you possibly having a mild form of psychosis.. but yes, scratchy sound was someone far far away harvesting a rune ;)

This is a nice idea, but people seem to assume that only a few things are changing. This patch probably would have hit all four of those files, resulting in the full download.

Or they could arrive in 2015 and have a update system that goes into the file and only write what it need to be rewrited instead on making you download the whole file again , Blizzard has this tech for over 2-3 years now , You can start playing WOW after you download like 12 % of the game , it will download needed content as you play . Hot fixes like this one on blizzards games are 30-40 mb patch.

Cmon get in 2015 stop using 10 years old patching methods

So to everybody happy with the gap being closed, ah, they only said for "outpost-like inner keeps" not outposts. And maybe that is because the gap in ouposts was "closed" last year. And I guess dk spiderman and nb flying teleports to npcs are still ok.

Also I doubt anybody got banned, so if they didn't fix it...

Did you successfully patch? If so, just launch directly from the exe and don't bother with the launcher.

@JacksonCarter13 You do need the launcher to patch the game though.. so make sure you use it on patch Monday's. As well, if you get the patch manifest error, just close the launcher and reopen it (don't press repair) - lots of times that works.

    Needs more Pay to Win!

Yeah, I'm thinking that for a grand or so you should be able to buy a FTW potion in the Crown store. Your character drinks it and music plays, crowds cheer, you get a trophy, and a big banner appears that says YOU WIN!!! (Mission Accomplished was already taken). Your character is elevated to godhood and your game ends. If you want you can then start over with a new character.

When I first started playing ESO 2 months or so ago I DL'd the game - it was huge, almost 36GB.

Two days later there was a 20GB "patch" that did, close to nothing.

Since then I have had 2 or 3 more 5GB patches that have done, close to nothing.

I don't care how big a game patch is IF I see genuine improvement and new content.

I've now DL's files with a cumulative size as big as the original game.

And I have seen no improvement whatsoever, and no new content whatsoever.

But the Launcher gets worse every patch.

Zeni need to sent some of their tech-guys over to their competitors and have them learn how to optimise patches; because Zeni clearly have no "copulating eyeless deer" (figure it out).

I am NOT downloading this latest cluster-f%$£ of a patch. I am simply not wasting 12% of my monthly DL limit on something that does nothing of significance in terms of gameplay or content improvement.

I might be inclined to blow 5-10 GB on real content; but audio fixes (IMO the audio was one of the least broken areas of the game) renaming Store Content to third-rate subliminal advertising names.

N'ah, not wasting my time, and no longer allowing Zeni to treat a customer like a mug.

    LOL the incompetence is real!

I'm currently "repairing" the launcher after getting the "unable to download patch manifest" error for the first time. Tried manually downloading according to the instructions in the KB article, tried running in administrator mode, nothing worked. I've been at this for about 2 hours and it's still at 25%. Nice job... As if there weren't enough frustration IN the game...

I don't care if you guys keep getting rid of grindspots, but at least give me SOME way to get CP and XP. All I have left is freaking PVP, which is super slow for that, and I have even lost almost all interest in PVP as well, considering it's been pretty much the same since launch.

    That is the point.

    1) They know how rubbish their PvP is.
    2) They know that so far they have failed to deliver on their content and update schedule.
    3) They are promising PvP updates... ...the same ones they showcased 12 months ago.
    4) They need players to need to PvP, so they nerf every other avenue of grinding XP and CP.

The result of this will lead to two things when the PvP Patch does finally arrive (if past effort from Zeni is any indicator that should be around Q3 2016):

    1) People won't complain too much, no matter how rubbish it is (and it will be rubbish) because they are Soooooooo desperate for some means to gain XP and CP.

And (this is the really important one)

    2) When PvP performance sucks Troll-t35t35 (and it will, just look at Craglorn) Zeni will have the ready-made excuse of "We weren't expecting quite so many players all in one place at the same time - obviously this will affect server performance".

I was so depressed at the latest patch I've uninstalled the game and I will not be returning, this @#"% has been going on for far too long now.

I remember near the launch of the game a certain someone stating "regular meaningful content updates"

So far all I've seen is 2 major DLC updates and incremental patches that fix something they broke the patch before!

If they can't even fix their launcher can you imagine the chaos that Imperial city will cause?

Seriously people, you are crying about large patches? Who are you then:
    • 56k modem users?
    • Are you paying in gold for every byte of data transferred?
    • Is your internet slower than sending a CD by DHL Express overseas?

If not then stop the drama, please...

And if yes, go play Skyrim, MMO is not compatible with your internet...
    A quote from system requirements:
You will also need a persistent internet connection in order to play. System requirements are subject to change over time.
    When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

No one is complaining about "large patches".

We are complaining about large patches that do nothing.
