Hit level 50, unlocked champion system, but didn't earn a single Champion Point??

By unlocking the Champion System (CS), you can now begin to accrue Champion Points (CP) by earning exp. 1 CP = 400k exp

However, there is an enlightenment mechanic in place that will allow you to earn CP 4x as fast so long as you have Enlightenment Points (EP). You get 100k EP every day, so essentially you get 1 easy CP per day.

In addition, by unlocking the CS, you get a free pool of 1.2 million EP, which is good for 12 champion points. This is also incidentally the system hardcap on the amount of EP you can store. Any EP gained above 1.2 million is essentially wasted.

It takes 400K exp per point without enlightenment. Do 1/3+ of a full zone worth of quests delves and dolmens to get one.

Basically, ZoS just gave you a maxed out pool of Enlightenment. So you'll get your first 12 Champion Points at an accelerated rate. You'll still need to earn the exp though.

Other MMOs call their similar mechanics 'rested XP', if that means anything to you, that's what 'Enlightenment' is.

So, you now start accumulating CPs at the rate of 1 every 400k XP (character XP and CP XP are the same here), BUT if you have any Enlightenment points left you'll get 2 CP XP for every 1 character XP until the pool runs out. Every so often (24 hours maybe, not sure) some more points are added back to the Enlightenment pool.

So it's 'rested XP' applied to CP only, not character level.

@alaiham2002 as soon as you hit Vet Rank on any character, you will automatically earn enough enlightenment to gain one CP daily. This will accumulate up to 12 if you don't use it up. Enlightenment multiplies even XP a vet character gains ×4 towards CP gain. 1 CP is normally 400,000xp, but can be earned for only 100,000XP while enlightened. Enlightenment is account wide.

Every day you get enough enlightenment to earn a single champion point at an accelerated rate. You don't have to do anything special for it, you just automatically get it. The enlightenment builds up if not used, up to a maximum of 12 days. So if you don't play for 12 days in a row (or only play non-VR characters for 12 days in a row), at the end of that time you'll be able to earn 12 CPs at an accelerated rate. If you don't play for 15 days, then it'll still only be 12 CPs that you can earn at the accelerated rate.
