Psijic Ambrosia Drink... Bound?

So have been hearing a rumor that the actual drink itself is bound. Is this the case? And if so is this "working as intended"? I understand that the recipe pieces and the recipe itself is not bound and tradable to other players as per Patch Notes but it does not specify in the notes about the drink itself. @ZOS_GinaBruno confirm please!

The only thing that will be keeping people is the ability to craft it. The recipes and the ingredients are trade-able, so there's no issue there.

This is a non-issue. If people can't let themselves level up Alchemyprovisioning (thanks Vyle, mistyped) by themselves, then this game is not for them.

mk well, its not alchemy, its provisioning.

Have you seen the prices for the purple provisioning ingredients? Bervez and mirriam have gone up from 100g each to 1000g each. You need those to craft the high lvl food and drink. This is not only going to be a problem with the xp pots, it will also be a problem with the food and drink.

I know its very early, but I see it coming...even if you cant.

The third ingredient isn't easy to find either. You have to fish. I mostly catch used bait. Once you catch fish you have to skin them -- and they rarely if ever yield the ingredient.

You have to turn in writs for a chance to get a piece of the puzzle that is the recipe. You can only do that once per day and again, that is only a chance for one.

If you're catching used bait that means you're using the wrong bait in the wrong fishing spot.

I was fishing with a couple of guildies today (it was one of the only things I could safely do without crashing), and we each caught roughly 100 white fish during the time we were fishing. From mine I got 1 perfect roe, one other guildie also got 1, and the other got 2.

I did 6 max level provisioning writs, and got no fragments. How on earth did you manage to do 20 provisioning writs in one day? Do you really have 20 characters?

I thought the fragments came from Any wits i.e i did them all just in case

Guess i will try again when i get in from work.

you say white fish but i thought any fish you skin gives a chance of the perfect roe

you could save them up, and open them today.

well skinned 400 fish, 1 roe.

No, as per the patch notes it's only the provisioning writ that gives you a chance to get a recipe fragment. Provisioning writs are the only ones that give recipes anyway. So you can actually only have 1 chance to get it per character per day.

You can only fillet white fish. Green fish and blue fish just get added to your achievements when you "use" them.

Of course the interesting equation will become how much time will you need to spend on a non-XP generating activity like fishing to generate the potions and could you actually have gained more XP by simply grinding at base rates of XP instead of fishing?

Hmm... I see the community will split up to people they will grind fish to get gold and people they will grind to get xp and buy these potions.

So now you got 2 ways. Get gold or get XP.

It should be bound and it only makes sense if they plan to sell something similar on the crown shop.
Otherwise I would expect them to be mostly sold for real cash.Which would undercut ZOS and also create a bunch of problems related to that sort of crap.

I caught about 250 fish today and skinned them. Received 5 Perfect Roe. So I guess not too bad.

Did 4 provisioning writs (v5)in Craglorn (timer had to have changed). Got a regular purple recipe for the first one, but received nothing but disappointing crap from the next 3 including recipes I already had. Even though I am maxed out in my provisioning for the two characters I was using.

To answer the OP: I don't know. I do sort of hope the drink is bound. It would really force people to make an effort to get something in this game.

Thankfully for many players, XP - and the gain of, or lamenting the loss of - does not drive their game-play. It's nice to see fishing becoming more and more relevant to the game-world. Well done development.

This also means there might be more of a market for fish in future. So one might not have to be a fisher, just a buyer. Giving more time to spend grinding out that 'precious' XP.

Found 1 Perfect Roe after my 11th fish. Caught 32 in total, 4 of them rares. Did 9 provisioner writs, (somehow one of my characters was able to do a second after only a few hours), no fragments.

I cleaned about 100 fish, found 2 roe. I did 8 provisioning writs, found one fragment.

I would love for someone to post a screenshot of the crafted ambrosia to answer whether it is bound.

I skinned 20 fish and got a roe on my 20th. Guess its completely random, but I have 2 character with maxed provisioning and neither got recipe pieces.

Well, for those of us who would be spending time fishing anyway, that's really not an equation that matters...

Very true but as I just recently finished all the fishing achieves I am not keen to do focused fishing right now, so to me it does

Simply use the fish. I cleaned well over 200 fish today and got 4 Roes

Sounds like, with the lack of drop rate for the recipe fragment, that it is just going to be easier to go out and grind to get the xp rather than wasting the time trying to put all the pieces together. Whomever gets that full recipe first is going to be a multi-trillionaire in this game real quick!
