None of the forest fires were close enough to actually be a threat to my city (although they have definitely threatened other places, and caused some evacuations) - it's just that there have been so many of them in the province that the smoke was ridiculous. This satellite image shows the smoke I'm talking about from a couple of weeks ago (note: it's much much better in my area now)

Nobody got any of that this weekend where I live.

Yeah, in my neck of the woods it was rainy all weekend. We very badly needed it, though. Hopefully it will have some effect on all of the forest fires.

A couple of weeks ago the smoke from all of the forest fires was so bad here that from sunup to sundown all of the light from the sun that was getting through the smoke was a deep orange. I couldn't even see the mountains on the north shore the smoke was so bad, and those mountains are literally a 20 minute drive away. Heck, our air quality was worse than in Beijing. I've lived here my whole life, and never seen it like that. Here's a picture of what it looked like:

On any normal day you'd see mountains in the background of that shot.

That is beautiful and terrifying!

Yeah, it felt kind of like the apocalypse. Wake up in the morning, look outside and that's what you see... For about a week all you could smell anywhere in the city (or outside the city, for that matter) was wood smoke.

Don't worry I'm sure it won't take much longer than 15 hours, but with the forum banter is won't feel any longer than 14 and a half.

7 hours for me, the base patch (got PTS already downloaded)
PTS maintenance starts around 1600 my time, it will take like 5 hours? That was already a patch that took 5 hours so this one will surely take that long. Then 7 hours of download.

Gonna have to leave computer working overnight.

Wow, I don't think they've done a character copy to PTS since the one for 1.6 - my VR14 Templar is still a VR5 on PTS! Glad they're doing a copy tonight!

So once we're all patched, should we be sending in-game mails on the PTS to @P3ZZL3 for invites to the testing guild?

I have pretty generous internet now.. so I think I'll be okay. Don't recall what update 6 was, but it wasn't THAT bad (much better than the 27 hours it took to download the game after I bought in.. back on my old internet. lol)

So I guess that means writs and then laundry/house cleaning tonight Better to get it done tonight so I can play PTS tomorrow onwards

I need to confess something... whenever I see someone refer to a guild as a "clan" I shudder a bit. Somehow.. I mentally replace clan with cult. And well, cults aren't friendly.

Makes sense. My in-game account name is Ur-Quan (the dash in the middle had to be removed for my forum name because it prevented the @ feature from working properly for me).

So, I've not managed to start the PTS download last night - to be honest, completely forgot about it...lol

@MissBizz - Can you do the honours if you are all set up and downloaded today? Mine prob. won't be downloaded until tomorrow (over night tonight) and then I won't be back from work until circa 7.00pm GMT tomorrow. Might be a little earlier

Yeah, I think they wanted to finish Xbox console patch before doing PTS - hence the late start.

I actually would prefer not to create the guild, as I am guildmaster of one that I would rather not delete on PTS (that way I can see when guildmates are online). How about whoever gets on, try to make the guild and come back here to report back?

I'm impressed Q even has 1, hehe.

I have faith PTS will be done before I get home from work today
